I could easily write an essay in how much I loved this place. Starting off with an amazing owner/ Chef who speaks fluent English with the loveliest Italian accent you can have. He is very nice and talkative and loves to make convo while doing you pizza. His recommendations were SPOT ON. The pizza was one of the tastiest I have ever had in my life and not just Italy. Very authentic, very fresh ingredients. I would def recommend going there after a long morning in Florence for some rest and lovely food and finally an amazing conversation. I would 100% go back to this place if I am ever back again in Florence. The owner also offered us a dessert on the house as soon as we were done with our pizza, which was very generous of him. Never had such hospitality in Italy Absolutely recommended!!!!

Google
Perfect authentic pizza rolled and made fresh in front of your eyes! The manager is so friendly and welcoming we loved chatting to him. Came back two days in a row 😍Small sizes €8 and regular size €11. Definitely ask for the special pizza of the day/week!

Google
Mangia Pizza was a great find while exploring Florence. The service was amazing and the staff were very friendly, giving the place a welcoming, local feel. It’s the perfect spot to grab a quick, tasty bite of pizza while sightseeing, and the atmosphere makes you feel right at home. Definitely worth stopping by if you’re in the area.

Grace B.

Google
Perfect crust, top-grade ingredients, both traditional and creative combinations. Great location on a quieter street one step away from all the tourists. Luca cannot be more kind or joyful. We love it so much we stop for several times on each trip to Florence!

Google
Good fresh simple pizzas in a small family ran eatery. Maybe six 2-person tables and a few counter seats but the food and owner/cook are the stars. If need a bite and drink to escape the Ponte Vecchio shopping crowds, go here

Seth W.

Google
Really great fast snack pizza with great service the pizza maker is super friendly and makes everyone who comes feel welcome and appreciated would definitely recommend for a quick lunch close to the city centre

Google
Had a yummy #4 pizza from here recently for €11 (regular size), following a recommendation by one of the staff. The dough is thin, crispy and oily, and the toppings are very flavoursome. It was nice to watch the chef make the pizza efficiently right in front of us, and the whole process was very quick. We went at lunch time and there was enough seating inside, but it did get busier when we were finishing up. Would recommend this place for a quick lunch if you’re in the area! Unfortunately when we were there there were some tourists who ate before us, who were quite rude to the staff regarding payment that wasn’t received - the staff and owner handled it very well though given the circumstances

Google
Unforgettable Hospitality and Incredible Pizza! We had the absolute pleasure of visiting Mangia Pizza in Florence, just north of the Ponte Vecchio. Our experience was nothing short of exceptional, thanks to the wonderful store manager, Luccino. From the moment we walked in, his warmth, charm, and hospitality made us feel like cherished guests rather than just customers. Luccino’s attention to detail and genuine passion for creating a memorable dining experience were evident throughout our visit. He took the time to chat with us, making us feel right at home while sharing his enthusiasm for the food. The highlight, of course, was the food itself. We ordered the #4 pizza, and it was hands down one of the best pizzas we’ve ever had—perfectly balanced flavors, fresh ingredients, and a crust that was simply divine. Mangia Pizza isn’t just a restaurant; it’s an experience, and Luccino is at the heart of it all. We left with full bellies and warm hearts, already planning our next visit. If you’re ever in Florence, do yourself a favor and stop by. Thank you, Luccino, for making our trip so memorable!

Yelp
Great pizza spot, tucked in a quiet side street near the Uffizi Gallery. I was looking for a quick take out spot for lunch and this place came up on my Yelp search. No table service here, you order up front and wait at your table for your food to be ready. Great menu selection to choose from. I ordered the regular sized pizza topped with tomato, mozzarella, spicy calabrese salame, and mushrooms. The crust was thin and perfectly crisp. The pizza was fresh and still steaming hot when I brought it back to my hotel which was a 5 minute walk away. The pizza took about 5 minutes to make so if you're in a hurry or hangry, this place is fantastic for a quickly prepared meal.

Yelp
This place is one of the best pizza places we found. It's small and off the path but very close to the Uffizi. The day we went it was the day of the marathon, most of the streets were blocked off and getting around was a bit difficult, fortunately that's how we found this place. It's very simple, go to the counter order your pizza, grab a beer from fridge by then your pizza is done. The crust is not thick but not too thin, just right. The cheese and meats are fresh. All in all one of the best pizzas we had while in Florence. BTW the owner Luccino (he makes the pizzas) is so friendly and welcoming. Must try this place.

Yelp
Absolutely unique and amazing experience. One guy manages to bake pizzas and serve the customers. Pizza is one of the best I ever had with puffed up crust and fabulous toppings. Small size is pretty big. We ordered #1 with truffles and #11. So happy we found this place.

Yelp
We were very lucky to run into this pizza shop on a side street and give it a try. Luciano the owner is a hidden gem and is super kind. We ordered the #5 and the #9. The #9 was gorgonzola and pear. It came out piping hot and the cheese was almost falling off the pizza it was so fresh. This pizza has changed my understanding of what a great pizza is. Thin, delicious, not greasy, extra cheesy, and combined with the pear perfectly. I thought I'd only eat half, but easily finished all of it because it wad that mind blowing. My wife loved her pizza as well, but sure was jealous of the #9. Now on to the owner. It was just my wife and I and Luciano the owner in the store. He talked to us for a good 15 minutes after we were done eating and even gave us a fresh slice of prosciutto to try after asking if we liked Pork... just because we were talking about how fresh food makes the difference between good and bad food. Such an amazing owner that really puts passion into his product. Give this place a try and you will not be disappointed with the food here!

Yelp
I love little hole-in-the-wall restaurants, especially in Europe. Mangia Pizza has high Yelp! ratings and the was good enough for this Yelper. I'll keep it short & sweet. The pizza was sublime. They do it differently in Europe/Italy and I wish we had this kind of pizza in the States. I gobbled down the pizza like I had just returned from Cast Away Island. Everything was super-fresh and super-flavorful. Is it possible that the pizza there is fresher than here? Yeah, maybe. I've eaten enough pizza to fill the inside of the Leaning Tower of Pisa, and all I can say is I wish there were places like that here. Check the photos, yo.

Yelp
Considered not giving a review to gatekeep. The owner was a one man band running the show and it was so dang good. Cheap too.

Yelp
Unbelievably amazing pizza! Lucas was incredible! Such a great time with my family!
google avatar

Bryn W.

Yelp
Had a very nice quick meal here before a tour. The owner was in a grand mood and very entertaining, not only to my party but also a second party also eating inside (there's only room for about a dozen). Pizza was great and would definitely return.

Yelp
We tried this little place which was recommended by a local merchant next to our hotel. Luciano, owner, was wonderful! Gave us a sample of the different meats and asked us what we like, providing his suggestions instead of sticking to a fixed menu. He used fresh ingredients and he made the pizza right in front of us. It was superb, unique, hot and flavorful!! Definitely a great experience, reasonable and relaxed. Pizza was top-notch!!

Yelp
Amazing pizza in an intimate setting with super friendly staff. We ended up coming twice while in Florence since the pizza was so good. We had the prosciutto cotto with truffles, the nduja and mozzarella, the burrata with tomatoes and basil and the sausage, olive and basil. Our favorites were the truffle and the nduja but they were all amazing. The crust was lightly risen with a wonderful mouth feel and slightly crispy bottom. There was a perfect sourdough taste to the dough. Which I found out takes three days to prepare. They have a good beer list between their bottled and tap offerings and also have various styles of wine available. I really enjoyed the bottled rosso beer which was rich and paired perfectly with the pizza however you cannot go wrong with the bianco on tap. Prices are great and all of the staff are friendly, helpful and speak English. Highly recommended and one of the best pizzerias I've visited anywhere.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing pizza, friendly and patient service. Traveling with 3 kids that keep changing their minds about what they want. The place is a little small but our apartment was close by so after our 1st time there we would just stop by randomly and take some pizza to go.
google avatar

Julia P.

Yelp
Best Homemade Pesto! Went here randomly in 2014 on my first visit to Florence and the Pesto was the standout food of my trip. Managed to find it again on my second visit and was SO happy!! Enjoyed the Pesto again. Good prices. Great Pizza.

Yelp
What a delight, the owner is so sweet and welcoming you just want to stay and try everything, so we did. My nephew told us to come here for a light fresh pizza and he was so right. Its a small shop with only indoor seating which is just great because you get to talk to the owner while he is making your food. We ordered a pizza with anchovies and it was amazing, the crust is a thin light tasting crust which he says he puts four different types of flour in and then lets it rise for 24 hours. It was amazing. We also ordered a charcuterie tray and it was so fresh and delicious he sliced the meat right then. The beer was cold and then I ordered a margarita pizza so I would have a snack back at the hotel, well that didn't work. It was so good we ate it right there. He uses all fresh ingredients and thats a fact because you can see them all right there. He is a bit of a character and that is why people kept coming in talking with him about the last time they came in. Many tourist said it was their second time visiting him this trip, I can certainly understand it. He did tell a story that he ate frozen lasagna and that if he told his mom she would have come right over and made him fresh pasta. He has a cute personality and I think it reflects in the shop. I would really suggest giving this spot a try and it is really affordable, right in Florence by the bridge.

Yelp
Great ambiance and delicious pizza. Tucked away in an alley near the Uffizi, plenty of fun people watching! Service was great - proprietor knew all the locals, felt very authentic.
google avatar

Lil S.

Yelp
I've been here twice & my favorite is definitely the Buratta pizza. My friends agreed - it was the clear winner. If you can, sit at the bar and watch the chef beautifully craft the pizza. Enjoy!
google avatar

Kristina L.

Yelp
Good pizza with fresh ingredients. The pizza is more like a flat bread style. It's very light compared to the American pizza. So if you are expecting that then you will be disappointed here. The small is a good size if you just want a snack and share between two people. Small is a good size for a one person meal. If you're super hungry get the regular size.
google avatar

Erika G.

Yelp
This charming neighborhood joint with cute guys throwing pizza! I LOVED it, and came here several times. A couple of times for the delicious, freshly made pizza, and once to just drink wine and hang out. FANTASTIC. LOVE. GO HERE.
google avatar

Kirk M.

Yelp
Best pizza in Florence! Watch the owner as he makes the pizza of your dreams. I recommend the Napoli!

Susan N.

Yelp
Intimate space. Fabulous pizzas. Very inventive toppings too. Loved it. Friendly staff.
google avatar

Roberto G.

Yelp
The service is amazing a the chef Luccino served the pizza directly. I ordered the pizza Margherita, cherry tomatoes and anchovy and it is the best pizza I tried in the city
google avatar

Alison P.

Yelp
We had the number 11 and it was so good. The owner is so nice I would go back just to hang out with him AND then the food is great too. I thought the prices were extremely good. Highly recommend. Note that he closes at 6(ish) or 7 depending on business. He was so nice to let us in even though the closed sign had just been turned. A&B from Dallas Texas

Yelp
Absolutely amazing. If you're visiting Florence, this is a must stop for some of the best pizza I've ever had.
google avatar

Archer A.

Yelp
Reasonable prices, super friendly and patient service, and such delicious pizza made on demand!
google avatar

Jordan B.

Yelp
Fresh pizza made to order. Beer and Coke on draft. What more can you want? The ingredients are fresh and flavorful. We choose to dine in, but looks like they do a pretty good take away business. For three adults, we split two regular size pizzas. If you're really hungry, order one per person.
google avatar

Ilsa G.

Yelp
I would rate this 6 Stars if I could. This place was AMAZING! The best pizza we have ever had by far. We went there twice in 2 days, tried two other pizza places in Florence and this was by far the best. The pesto sauce was to die for. We ordered one of the pizzas (#11) with pesto on top and it was awesome. Also tried the #11 and #2 and they were amazing too.
google avatar

Yelp
Incredible pizza!! I ate 2 large ones in 2 min. Love the service Wow wow wow wow wow
google avatar

Valerie W.

Yelp
Great pizza in Florence! We ate here multiple times on our last trip and shared the large #11. Fresh ingredients and made right in front of you.
google avatar

Zach R.

Yelp
Quick easy fun, a little crowded but welcome to Florence really. Friendly service and a very, very good pizza to enjoy on the steps of the piazzas nearby. Stop on by!
google avatar

Jason S.

Yelp
(4.5 stars) Essentially a build your own pizza shop with a set menu of different combinations. The spicy salami and funghi is straight up delicious. It's got some kick to it, such fresh cheese, a great ratio of cheese to sauce, some olive oil on top to bring the bite together, and some perfectly bouncy crust. I wish the toppings were a little more generously dispersed but it's hard to put down once you take a bite. Stop by when you're hungry, and even when you're not.

Yelp
I am not quite sure how MANGIA PIZZA isnt the #1 suggestion on Yelp. It's a very small restaurant, but there is a great atmosphere, the staff is friendly as can be and most importantly they make some killer pizza. One of the biggest things with traveling and trying to choose a restaurant is finding consistency with everyone's meal. Looking at everyones satisfaction and all of the amazing pizzas around us was a telltale sign from the jump that we were in a good place. The menu here is written on the walls but there is also a paper copy by the register. Theres about 12 different pizza variations on the menu. You can choose to sit by the bar area, that seats about 4 people if you would like to watch the pizza be made in front of you. Additionally, this restaurant serves soft drinks, water, wine, and beer. Side note, this is the only place we've seen in Florence that has an IPA. Oh and they have free wifi here! Now for the good stuff.. I had a pesto pizza and my boyfriend a prosciutto with buffala mozzarella pizza. Both were out of this world. They are rectangular, thinner crusted pizzas- however, not too thin and crunchy though. They still have a good doughy taste and texture to them. The pizza itself was phenomenal. The one knock on MANGIA PIZZA is truly the size of the restaurant. There is only room for about 20 guests, so there were plenty of people that came in, only to find they'd have to come back later, place an order and pick it up, or make other arrangements. We were able to just beat the lunch crowd thankfully, so we were seated no problem. I highly recommend getting pizza to go if there are no seats available, trust me! MANGIA PIZZA was fantastic and most definitely somewhere I would return to time and time again!

Yelp
Delicious food. Very quickly prepared in the picturesque, rotating pizza oven. Wonderfully personal and welcoming service by owner/chef, Luchino! He made a really good meal, an amazing and memorable experience! I highly recommend if ever in the historic center of Firenze.

Yelp
Decided to tried this place after looking at the reviews for local, good pizza places. Went in.. it was hot as hell. the pizza chef greeted us and told us to sit by table next to entrance. We sat there and another party with a stroller came in and a server told us we couldn't sit there cause he wants to put the larger party there that arrived AFTER US (it was also a table for 2 only).... Fine, we moved to another table as instructed. We sat y there, found what we wanted to order and waited. Total of 4 more parties came after us. We sat there looking at all of them get their orders in while we waited and waited and waited. Server never looked at us. We got up and left for another one down the street where we were properly treated. Even if they have the best pizza, I wouldn't eat there cause of the horrible servic.
google avatar

Carolyn M.

Yelp
4 stars for pizza, 1 star for customer service. We walked into this place and weren't greeted by people, but by chaos. The place is so tiny and we didn't know where to go, so we grabbed some menus and walked to the register. We waited almost 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged our existence. During the wait, we watched all the disorder and chaos by the way this place was run. Pizzas were sitting on the counter waiting to be picked up, but none of the workers knew who ordered what so instead of figuring out which table to bring them to, they left the pizzas there or threw them away. Tables weren't cleaned in a timely manner and flies started to come hang out with us. We watched about 10 customers look at the menu and then leave because no one greeted them. We were about to leave until someone finally greeted us and we asked to just order the pizzas to go. Luckily, a table opened up before the pizzas were done, so we sat down and ate. The space is very tight, so be prepared to squish next to the stranger on either side while they watch you eat and eavesdrop on your conversation. Pizza is good - flavorful ingredients but very wet and soft in the middle and very sour tomato sauce (if you're into that).

Yelp
In our pizza tour of Italy this was the best we had! Absolutely amazing, we started with the Caprese salad and finished with the pizza. The dough was just amazing. The added bonus for my wife was the guys working here were adorable according to her!
google avatar

Ashley O.

Yelp
The best pizza ever! One of my favorite meals while visiting Florence. Simple but delicious! Crispy crust and packed with flavor. I dream of this pizza and hope to go back someday.

Clayton H.

Yelp
The best pizza in Florence! Try the entire menu and you won't be disappointed!! Sweet people and so kind.
google avatar

Maya U.

Yelp
We went here the first day we went to Florence because we wanted something relatively inexpensive and it was DELICIOUS!! Wish I could give it 6 stars. The interior of the cafe was cute (a bit small). No extra charge for sitting down. The pizza was incredibly fresh, the ingredients were amazing and there was plenty of choice. Every pizza had a fixed price depending on the size, which was great, because more toppings didn't make it more expensive. We had 7 and 13 and they were both incredible. Lots of pizza for a great value of only €10.
google avatar

Theo T.

Yelp
Good beer pairings to go with an excellent pizza, and a very simple presentation. Very cozy atmosphere, the same guy who takes your order will pour your beer, make your beer, and ring you up at the end. Loved it!

Patrick G.

Yelp
Excellent pizza and a fun atmosphere. Half of the customers were locals in a restaurant in a hyper touristic part of town. We sat at the "bar" in front of the pizza oven. Quick service despite being very busy. Enjoyed watching the owner making pizzas. 2 small pizzas, 2 large beers. 2 big smiles for $36 US. We have eaten at Michelin star restaurants (including the one a half block away) that were less enjoyable than this pizza and ice cold beer!
google avatar

Colleen S.

Yelp
This was the first restaurant we went to in Florence and it was awesome! The employees make the pizza right in front of you and you get to see them put it in and out of the oven - cool experience. The men serving were very friendly and trusting (you get to just grab a drink from the refrigerator and tell them later what you drank) We stumbled on this place while shopping near Pointe Vecchio. I ordered the Pesto pizza which was absolutely DIVINE, but I tried my moms margherita pizza and it was disappointing. The tomato sauce was pretty bland and my mom couldn't even finish her pizza. She agreed that the pesto pizza was delicious though. I very highly recommend this pizzeria! Sit at the bar, order the pesto, and enjoy! Be cautious of what you order (i would suggest no pizza with red sauce unless you are okay with it being bland)
google avatar

Michael L.

Yelp
We were starving after touring the Galleria degli uffizi and the girlfriend found this pizza shop that allegedly has good pies & ranks in the top 10 of good restaurants in the immediate Florence area on TripAdvisor. We got there about 1pm & barely beat the lunch time rush and since the place is relatively small we were glad we scored on a table. We ordered a Margherita pizza, a Balsamic walnut arugula salad and a Bottle of chianti classical. The pie was good, no question about it...thin crust, light cheese & covered in aromatic tomato sauce. The prices were inexpensive so we felt we got the bang for the buck.
google avatar

Nicholas K.

Yelp
Great place that would be easy to look over. We watched them make our pizzas and they tasted fantastic. Definitely a must when in Florence!
google avatar

Alex B.

Yelp
After going to many highly recommended pizzerias during our trip to Italy, this was really the best - delicious thin crust and great toppings. The service was great as well - staff is very friendly and quick. We went back twice and probably tried all pizzas on the menu - every one was delicious! They also have a good choice of tap beer and wines. Highly recommed!!!
google avatar

Deana M.

Yelp
Best pizza! You can wait in line for a while since the restaurant is small but it's worth the wait. All pizzas were cooked wood-fire with fresh ingredients that's made to order. Not to mention, the staff were very friendly.
google avatar

Kenzie S.

Yelp
This pizza was delicious and the pizzas were definitely big enough for one person. The restaurant was small but had great staff and a great atmosphere. Had some local beer on tap and multiple drink options. A definite must go if in Florence and looking for a wholesome and reasonably priced meal!
google avatar

Br. J.

Yelp
STOP, here if you have a chance it is a MUST! The handcraft pizza dough, the pesto, the tomato sauce, all homemade results in a delicious most succulent pizza I have ever tasted! It was so delicious, every time people would walk pass the restaurant pondering if they should eat here, I would exclaim, "no ragrets!" My uncle LeeRoy used to say, "With great food comes great company." We shared out love for their wine, the food, the service with our surroundings and even shared a couple of cheers with the table near us and that's how much we enjoyed the service and food here a Mangia Pizza. Jon Snow would approve* Cheers.

Caroline S.

Yelp
Can't say enough about this place and the owner. Ordered the #2 with pesto and the one with sausage & mushrooms (#13?). The crust was fluffy on the edges and had a nice bit where it was smothered with the sauce and cheese. The bottom was crispy and light with a perfect amount of sauce as to not make it soggy. The owner was super personable and you can truly tell that he takes pride in his product and loves his city. After finishing our pizzas and chatting with him, he sliced us some of his meats because he didn't want us to leave without trying Florentine ham and salami. He shared why he felt those ingredients were so special and a little about where it was from. Food comes out quick, he takes time to talk to all the guests like they're family, and you can't beat the price for what you get.

Emma S.

Yelp
Mangia Pizza is a must! Amazing selection (Pear and Gorgonzola is my favorite) and it is so so good. Also very quick and great service! I will miss uncle!

Yelp
This. Pizza. Is. Amazing. We had just gotten into Florence and immediately attempted to find the best pizza around and we did very well with Mangia. We got lucky enough to get seats at the bar which I highly recommend. You get to talk to those making the food and see it happen right in front of you. Really helps to visualize the items on the menu and is cool to see it all happen right in front of you. We got the truffle/ham pizza, the spicy sausage pizza and the pesto pizza. They were all absolutely fantastic. Some of the best pesto I'd ever had along with amazing flavor on the spicy sausage. The truffle created a great balance of flavor with the other components of that pizza. We certainly ate well. Between three of us we got one large and two smalls and we were stuffed.
