A 5 star review for a 2 star resort. Beautiful setting- the beachfront Bure is worth it. The included breakfast was great! Snorkeling was good if the tide is right. We had a rental car which made getting around easy (it's a bit of a drive from other places). Would definitely stay again.

My wife and I travelled with extended family to Mango Bay recently. At the start, arriving at night, I was a little bit taken aback as the resort is in a valley down a dirt road and some of the bures are a little run down. However after the first night I was sold. The resort is peaceful, beautiful and supported by the friendliest and most helpful staff I’ve ever seen. The manager and owner, Ed, was fantastic and did everything in his power to make our stay restful and fun. He assisted in booking airport transfers, trips, massages, snorkeling etc as well as organising to watch some great rugby games! The sunset views are fantastic from the pool and beach. The ocean view and beach bures are wonderfully Fijian with traditional roofs and outdoor showers. You can see the sea and break at the reef, and hear the surf from your bed (which was very comfortable and firm). The food was outstanding, very well priced and I totally recommend the seared tuna and the fettucine with chicken and mushroom (with a tickle of chili). The menus rotate on a daily basis and keep you guessing as to the best dish! The coconuts with a dash of rum are pretty good too! The resort offers free SUP, kayaks, snorkels, etc and there is a beautiful little reef packed with fish a short walk along the beach. If you want to do anything else they offer trips out to the islands, snorkelling, river tubing, day trips to Suva etc. We were fortunate to attend a local church and the choir singing was amazing! I was a little sad to say farewell at the end of the week as the staff came and gave us hugs with a tear in their eyes, and then sang us a beautiful farewell song. Vinaka Tina, Villy, Mo, Sate, Marg, Levi, Shorna, Pablo, Mango and Kaylani and all the others who made our stay memorable! If you’re after a modern air conditioned room with fancy restaurants, big pool, heaving with people and lots of planned activities this may not be for you. But if you want to experience a slice of paradise , read a good book or two, snorkel and kayak in peace, and meet some absolutely terrific people at a very reasonable price then Mango Bay is my place in the sun. Recommended! Sota tale!!

The staff are wonderful helpful and and supportive. A little remote. Accomodation needs an upgrade, not enough seats etc for the amount of people. Definitely the information book in the Bure needs updating, we'll overdue.

1 Star – Only for the View! This was our first time and first night in Fiji, and sadly, our stay at Mango Bay Resort was a huge disappointment. The location is beautiful and the view is stunning which we saw in the morning —but that’s where it ends. We arrived at 7pm and had to walk to our bure in almost complete darkness. There was barely any lighting—it felt unsafe and eerie. When we entered the room, we were shocked by the condition: tiny lizards crawling around, dirty walls, and a mosquito net over the bed that had visible blood splatters from previously killed insects—clearly unwashed and unhygienic. Moths, bugs and literal remains and dried blood stains The bathroom was worse than any public toilet I’ve seen—stained, full of dead bugs, and the toilet flush barely worked. Overall, the room was filthy and not maintained. At the restaurant, there were only two other people, no music, no atmosphere—just complete silence. It felt lifeless and honestly made us question what we had booked. The photos and reviews online are completely misleading. The photos ARE FALSE ADVERTISING! No wifi - only in restaurant where again mosquitoes and lizards everywhere you wouldn’t wanna sit out there! The staff were kind and doing their best, no engagement from the owner or manager but what stood out in the worst way was the owner or manager, who was yelling at one of the workers—who was clearly working hard in the 30-degree heat fixing a roof—right in front of us. It was so rude, unprofessional, and disrespectful, and it left us feeling really uncomfortable. I own a business myself and would NEVER speak to my staff in that manner NOR would this ever occur infront of GUESTS!! There were no activities, the pool was dirty, and dogs were lying on pool beds, even in the restaurant area. There was dog hair everywhere. Breakfast was just toast, cereal, and some fruit—you had to pay for anything more substantial. We barely ate because we were worried about hygiene and honestly getting sick . We understand tropical environments come with bugs, but we’ve stayed in similar open-air resorts where rooms are properly sprayed, sealed, and cleaned—this was not the case here. We checked out and went to Likuri Island, and WOW—what a difference! Still in a bure, still open-air, but the rooms were spotless, no mosquito netting needed, and everything was well-maintained. The staff were amazing, there was energy, music, shows, and authentic Fijian food cooked underground. The experience was filled with free activities, smiles, and good vibes. That’s when our holiday truly began. Absolutely NOT recommended. One star, only for the view.

On arrival, there was a nix up with our accommodation. Booked Ocean View Bures and were taken to Garden Bures. This was poor communication with staff. Got to the Garden Bure, went in and wanted to walk straight back out. There was mould on tip of the fridge as well as around the rub er on the door of the fridge. There was a broken clothes rack sitting in the 2nd room. The bed you could feel every spring on the mattress and it felt dirty. Went up for dinner to the restaurant and my friend ordered her meal and asked for no chilli. They brought out her meal, and there was chilli. I ordered mine at the same time and sat there for almost an hour before I asked about my meal. They didn't put the order through! Go in for a shower, the tap is almost coming off the basin and there was NO HOT wATER!! My friend said she was kept awake all night by a staff member yelling out right up until 4am The next day, we were told by the owner that the Ocean View Bures were ready for us, but we'd seen enough. We spoke with the owner who the only charged us for the one night and for dinner. I honestly wouldn't recommend this place. Especially for the amount that you pay for what you get. Needs a complete overhaul

My wife and I had a lovely peaceful week at this resort. The accommodation was quite basic and despite diligent covering of the bed with mosquito netting, we still managed to become the midnight snack for hundreds of the little bug(ger)s. The food was fresh and delicious. The local beer was good and cheap. The pools were a blessing and the sea was warm and wet and full of little fish.

Very warm personal service in this long year established resort - we loved the snorkelling 🤿 direct in front of the resort. You get here excellent value for money. Rooms are well equipped and tidy. The food is delicious and offers daily variations.

Paradise exists. And it exists here. |Have been fortunate enough to do a bit of travelling recently, and after a visit to Tokyo, I thought I might be in need of some respite. |I chose Fiji for my cures and after some extensive research, Mango Bay stood out as an exciting place to visit. How right I was! |Arriving early at 7am, I did not expect to be accommodated till later. But Ed was there at the front door and went well out of his way to sort me out with an Ocean View bure - thank you Ed!|The rest was just fantastic - friendliness, attention, food and drink, and the clear, warm shallow waters of the Pacific all made this a dream. |To Ed and your team, thank you.
