A lovely set of bungalows at the peak of a frighteningly steep hill overlooking Mero Beach. Our room was spacious and included a king bed, mini fridge, and a small deck with a patio set. We found the room to be very dark and the bathroom to be surprisingly tight. The shower is natural stone and spacious (Bamboo room). Meals are offered in the open air restaurant, and there’s a small pool that is perfect for viewing the sunset. Though we heard the dinners were good we only enjoyed breakfast, which included bread, cheese, and a lovely fruit plate. Overall a good location to access snorkeling to the south, Portsmouth to the north, and the hikes that the island is most known for.

Enjoyed a six night stay in Feb 2025. The facilty with six (6) individual units was built on a bluff overlooking the ocean with great views to the west. The proprietor Stephane was a delight, greeting us daily and helping us set up excursions. The rotating staff was the same! Our unit was very unique with a tall 15-20' ceiling, stone floors, and all expected amenities. Our deck faced into the evening sunsets and featured a spa. The open-air dining room was informal, encouraging guests to interact. Meals served at breakfast & dinner, with Stephane as the master chef, and the seafood dishes fresh caught locally. The pool was very nice with lounge chairs and drink trolley to deliver beverages from the dining room. Mero Beach a 20-min walk. We congratulated ourselves on a great choice!

Lovely place mid island of Dominica. We stayed in the Sayrui prestige suite and it was lovely. Service was wonderful. Kudos to Lena, Marina and Royette. Also there was a young man who also was very helpful but I can't remember his name. The rooms are spacious, the grounds are lovely, the pool relaxing and the food good. Also thank you Stephane for your help and suggestions. They have fins and masks you can rent. Plus can make arrangements for tours etc. My only recommendation is to rent a car from one of the places near the airport. We rented a car through the lodge and while the owner of the car was prompt in handing off the car and picking it back up, the car itself was in awful shape. We never knew if we were going to make it to where we wanted to go or back up the hill to the resort. There is also a decent enough beach near the hotel with beach chairs and cabanas to rent. We didn't stop because contrary to other Caribbean islands the beaches in Dominica are a bit rocky and the sand is gray. But that is because the island is volcanic in nature so what it lacks in beaches it makes up in hiking and other wonderful natural things like waterfalls.

The hotel itself is a beautifully created place. The staff friendly. Unfortunately the room was a little bit small for two adults and a child. The third bed uncomfortable. Also we had breakfast included but tje breakfast only contained serial and white bread and a small fruit plate. Very disappointing. The overall feeling we got from the owners was that this place needs to make money but we didn’t feel warmth from them. I need to stress that the staff were very helpful and friendly. The location of the hotel is also great.

We stayed at Mango Island for four nights. Great location, nice clean rooms. Unfortunately the room was not suitable for two adults and a child, it was too small and the sofabed very uncomfortable. Our main issue with this hotel was the fact that we paid for breakfast included but the only thing we got was cereal, white bread and a small fruit plate. No eggs. The eggs had to be paid extra for, which to me is ridiculous when you already pay $12 for breakfast. The staff were very friendly and the locally cooked meal (broth) on our last night was delicious.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Mango Lodge. Staff are very nice and the owner is very helpful and inooked us out on a wonderful tour.|Our room was lovely and I appreciated the design of the hotel. We enjoyed the refreshing pool and evening drinks.|Breakfast could have been more generous. You can walk to the beach. If it would be a hike back uphill,|We absolutely loved Dominica and would recommend a stay at mango Lodge.

Nestled among lush tropical trees and foliage, Mango Island Lodge perfectly suits the ruggedly beautiful character of Dominica. The bungalows are furnished comfortably, with lovely furniture and artwork. Upon arrival, we were taken in by the stunning view from the infinity pool overlooking the sea.||Meals are served in the cafe, just steps from the rooms. St. Joseph is located about 30 minutes from Roseau, easily accessible by the local minivan buses (for $2/person).||The owners, Stefane and Karine, and their kind and helpful staff are what make Mango Island truly special. Stefane was always available to answer our many questions and help plan our days, including whale watching and hiring a driver to take us on tours of waterfalls and other sights. We appreciated his knowledge, humor, and warmth. Both Stefane and Karine were always helpful and gracious and made us feel so comfortable and welcome. Marina, Lina, and the rest of the staff always provided excellent service with a smile. We enjoyed our stay and were sorry to have to leave!

"Tranquil" is the word best used to describe this location. The owners maintain a serene environment accompanied by chic surroundings, a welcoming pool, views of the gulf, and a treasure trove of plants in the garden. Everyone is very attentive and helpful and gave good advice on getting around. The main challenge is getting to the hotel. Like most hotels on the island, it is on the opposite coast from the main airport. Because this hotel is halfway between the two biggest cities - Rosseau and Portsmouth - we had to travel 45 minutes to an hour by bus or taxi to get to horse back riding, whale watching, snorkeling, etc. There also aren't any high quality restaurants within walking distance. But, if we had been in the main cities it would have been loud and rowdy. It was a tradeoff I am happy we made.
