Mango Shade

We stopped by for dinner and were pleasantly surprised! The owner was super nice and spoke great English which is always a plus ! I ordered the egg and vegetable kotthu and it was the best I had in Sri Lanka ! So creamy and flavorful. Really recommend The chicken noodles were good and the deviled prawns too Great place !

Very cozy, spacious restaurant with delicious food and friendly staff! Prawns on grill were fresh and juicy, and egg stir fried rice with chicken was just what i wanted with a local twist, simply delicious. The place has amazing atmosphere, there are hundreds of greetings and signs on the walls of the restaurant and of course we contributed ours, it adds character. After dinner owner even offered to give us a ride to our apartment since he was heading towards city centre. 10/10, would visit again and can recommend to anyone looking for local cuisine or asian fusion!

I am so glad we went, all the reviews were spot on. We had a fantastic meal that was adjusted to suit all members of the party's spice levels.

Great place with great good! If you like fish, definitely get the grilled Mahi Mahi fish, it was absolutely delicious and big portions. Side salad was also very good! Big compliment to Mango Shade!

Truly amazing experience, the seafood here is first class, the prawns, tuna, calamari, mahi mahi & the mullet were all so delicious and fresh, even though it's a filling meal you just want to continue eating because of the flavour, even the fried rice was soooo good. Really recommend this place to anyone. The mixed fruit lassie was also amazing.

Absolutely incredible food. One of the best curries we’ve had so far on out trip. Peanut garnish was delicious. We had fish and veg curry shared. Lots of little plates with delicious flavours. We were there in low season but had a great time. Very very reasonably priced and playing cards on the table nice touch !

ABSOLUTE KNOCKOUT! From the very first meal we had here during our recent visit to Sri Lanka, we knew we were on to a winner with this great, family run restaurant. Nothing was ever too much trouble for the family, even when we wanted to mix dishes up a bit, service always super attentive and with that famous Sri Lankan smile. The food was some of the best we've eaten in all our times visiting Sri Lanka (this being our 6th!). We always went for the authentic spicier option of Rice and Curry - Chicken, Prawn or Vegetable, which never failed to hit the spot, along with the most delicious local Mahi Mahi Fish with a super colourful and fresh side Salad - portions always super generous - we never ever left feeling we could have eaten more. We visted 4 - 5 times during our trip and could easily have eaten there every night. Go visit and enjoy the superb freshly prepared / cooked food, service, ambience and value for money from this wonderful family. Bohama Istuti!
