Mango Shade

We couldn’t decide on just one type of fish so we went for the mixed seafood platter. And what can we say? Absolutely the right choice! Every bite was a delight and it was so good we were practically licking our fingers afterward. The service made the evening even more enjoyable – warm and attentive. We felt welcome from the very first moment. We can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant.

Lovely restaurant near Tangalle beach with good fresh food and caring attitude. Came here two days in a row. Also lovely ambiance and very clean. You really feel the emphasis of quality at this family-run business from the food to service. The fries were also not greasy and oily with the perfect crunch. Recommend!

his is the best food and service we have had in Sri Lanka and we have been in the country for over a month. The fish dishes with a mix of vegetables and rice are out of this world ( and it's proper veg like carrots potatoes etc)

Really worth a visit. The ambiance and the food is amazing. We got the seafood platter and was really good. It was a big portion as well so it’s definitely for sharing. Didn’t think we could finish it between the two of us but it was that good that we finished it all!

Very cozy, spacious restaurant with delicious food and friendly staff! Prawns on grill were fresh and juicy, and egg stir fried rice with chicken was just what i wanted with a local twist, simply delicious. The place has amazing atmosphere, there are hundreds of greetings and signs on the walls of the restaurant and of course we contributed ours, it adds character. After dinner owner even offered to give us a ride to our apartment since he was heading towards city centre. 10/10, would visit again and can recommend to anyone looking for local cuisine or asian fusion!

Very friendly service, decent atmosphere but I was a bit disappointed with my food. I ordered the devilled chicken and I thought it was a little bland and lifeless. In fairness, when asking me if I wanted it “local spicy or medium spicy” I said medium, but I assumed that still meant it would be spicy - just wouldn’t take my head off. But it wasn’t at all, so perhaps that’s partially my own fault. Regardless, I didn’t think it was an eventful dish. This place may have excellent fish and other dishes, but from my experience the food was quite average, especially when you consider the price (in relation to Sri Lankan prices)
