The setting is stunning and peaceful, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The staff are genuinely lovely—warm, helpful, and attentive throughout the stay. However, the food was disappointing and didn’t live up to expectations, very limited kids menu which only offered chips with ketchup. Also, the open-air bathrooms, though stylish, had a mosquito problem that affected comfort. A beautiful place with great service, but some key areas need improvement.

Based on my visit . Agreed, its a very beautiful place greens , trees , beach , pools and colorful. Yet, kind of unsafe rooms as its open windows . Open bath and rooms not secured. if you can manage to live in a room with big spiders, lizards, centipede and other insects in the pool and the room then its the place you want for relaxation. Its never 5 stars hotel as facilities are not ready with fridge, telephone or TV . Pretty scary at night .besides, you cannot swim on the ocean I paid big amount and never received refund as i checked out the same night i checked in . Again, its a beautiful nature kinda living place but its not advisable for 5 stars or hotel facilities seekers .

This hotel provides a unique and exceptional Ayurvedic experience in a luxurious setting. Every detail is carefully considered to ensure a top-notch guest experience, from the warm airport welcome with fresh fruit to the nightly mosquito net setup and luxurious towels. The pool is stunning, and the spa is expertly managed. ||During our 8-night stay, I indulged in Ayurvedic treatments while my husband enjoyed his own activities. He appreciated the delicious food and coffee options. I had daily consultations with the doctor and relaxing massages, which left me feeling rejuvenated, healthy, and clear-minded. ||I am grateful to the dedicated staff at this outstanding resort for making our stay unforgettable.

The landscapes are beautiful, and the atmosphere is relaxing. If you’re planning to stay there, try the free meditation class, it’s run by a very nice instructor. It was my first time trying meditation, and I ended up going back for it every day during my stay.

Beautiful hotel with stunning views. The staff were attentive and the food was delicious. There was so much to do - yoga, meditation, beach, pool, painting, pottery, movies etc. We were sad we could only stay for 2 nights!

Good not great. To be honest we were a bit disappointed by our experience. The garden is beautiful the rooms are beautiful and clean but for the amount of money you pay there were things we didn’t understand. The beach of the hotel and also the bushes near the ocean on the hotel grounds have a lot of trash (plastic bottles, etc.). For a luxury hotel we don’t understand why nobody cleaned this. It would probably only take half a day to do so. The service at the restaurant was not on the level we expected. The waiters and hotel workers were very polite and you could see that they tried their very best. So this criticism doesn’t aim at them but at the management. It would be necessary to make them aware that a table hasn’t been cleaned for over 30 minutes and encourage them and help them improve. We didn’t see any of that and therefore it always took ages for food/drinks to arrive, tables were sometimes dirty erc. We know this can happen in Sri Lanka, but were disappointed about the standard at this price point. We cannot understand why management doesn’t try to improve the standard, because you could tell the staff was definitely willing to improve. We carried our suitcases ourselves after texting management, and nothing happening for over an hour. Obviously when you check out you want to leave soon and don’t have the time to wait this long. No big problem, but if you pay for luxury level, it’s a bit off. Once again I want to stress that all staff members were polite and forthcoming, seemed more like there were organisational issues from above, we kept having little issues like that, which spoilt it a bit. Overall we cannot say we regret it but it wasn’t on the luxury level we paid for. It is okay if the standards maybe aren’t on a western 5 star level, but then it also shouldn’t cost as much as a western 5 star hotel…

Hello, I would like to share my experience.||Hotel UTMT is the most comfortable place in Sri Lanka, people, massage, food, accommodation, everyone will do their best for you, I can only recommend it. They are like my second family. In the course of 2 years, I returned to this place 6 times, in January 2025 I wanted to return 7 times.||||There was a problem here, namely incredibly bad communication with the manager at the reservation department, not responding to e-mails, even for 2-3 weeks, then again waiting for further responses. As a regular customer, I received the highest prices when planning 7 visits, I didn't feel welcome at all, I wanted to book a specific room (which they sold to another customer without my knowledge! and they convinced me to cancel the reservation) after 4 weeks of extremely bad communication , the manager advised me that it would probably not be appropriate for me to visit their hotel and that I should reconsider my visit. And he offers a room that doesn't have a view, or the right location, and a high price, and you think it's okay. A NONSENSE customer who spends more than 28,000 euros in their facility in two years is not welcome? The owner should think about whether such a person is in the right position, I believe that the owner will deal with my complaint, because he is losing good, loyal customers.||||I am extremely disappointed with the approach and communication with an existing and regularly returning customer, such communication and failure to solve the problem is unacceptable.

Booked a long stay here as a treat for a rubbish year and my birthday.|Room minute, balcony minute, open-plan bathroom, which is also open to the elements, so having a shower in a torrential downpour is "challenging"! The rooms, bathrooms and public areas are all very dark, too, meaning to be able to see anything you need to switch on a light. This seems to contradict the eco ethos.|Ayurveda so far very good and the Ayurveda area is by far the most pleasant and cleanest I have encountered in Sri Lanka.|Staff are friendly and willing, but do not necessarily understand English to a high degree, which makes things a little complicated.|There are only 2 usable electric sockets, one in the bathroom area, one in the bedroom, which I find totally unacceptable, even though I brought an extension lead with 3 sockets with me.|Wifi is very good for Sri Lanka.|Food is ok, but there is no choice and far too much, which is causing me issues. It is difficult to make people understand that I do not want 3 meals a day consisting of 3 courses - or 4 in the evening. I find it especially problematic that all this food is presented when the ayurvedic treatment involves daily laxitives!|All rooms are situated in various houses with no direct access to the main reception area, Ayurveda Spa or restaurant. Umbrellas are provided and required!|At the moment I get the impression that I have shelled out a lot of money for something mediocre and cannot decide whether to shell out more and leave or stick it out - hence why this review is Part 1.
