Mangrove Center

We had a great experience on the one-hour kayak tour yesterday. Navigating the mangrove forest was both fun and challenging. While the Mangrove Center may feel quite remote, they carefully attend to the needs of their customers with restrooms, ample shade, and even a freshwater shower. We ordered our tickets online ahead of time which made arrival quite easy. Our guide, Blue (unsure of the spelling) was thoughtful and engaging. He expertly accommodated both English and Dutch speakers throughout the tour and took great care to share his expertise in a way that was easily accessible. I highly recommend this tour!

Super 2 hour tour with Eric. Very informative and passionate! Our tour included a snorkel moment. Even though fun, apparently our movements disrupt the delicate ecosystem in the mangrove. For this reason I would omit this activity next time and stick to the awesome kayaking through the canals!

Visiting the Mangrove Center was a real experience. Our guide Thijmen was explaining the origin and function of the mangrove with passion and our family really learned something. The kayaking was adventurous, through deep bushes and strong surfs, but lead to a really beautiful snorkeling spot. Even though we were brutally attacked by mosquitoes, the trip was very cool. 10/10 would visit again!

Mangrove Center is very professional, experienced, and they really stand for protecting and preserving the beautiful nature of Bonaire while offering a fun, educative and interactive tours of the mangroves. Additionally, the bird rescue center was an inspiring part of our visit. We learned about the crucial work being done to rehabilitate and protect various bird species. Seeing these beautiful creatures up close was a heartfelt experience, showcasing the center's commitment to conservation. Overall, the Mangrove Center Bonaire offers a fantastic blend of education, adventure, and conservation efforts. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area—it's an experience you won't want to miss!

The kayaking tour was a great experience! The Mangrove Center is located near the eastern edge of Lac and can be reached by car, it is quite a bumpy road. The center itself has some facilities and a shop. We did the 2 hour kayak tour where you will start with some explanations before you leave. During the tour our guide told us a lot about the flora and fauna of the mangroves, it was really educational! After about 1 hour you stop and go snorkelling directly from your kayak. Between the roots and branched there are many young fish, it is very cool to see them in this environment. The physical strain is light to moderate, it was quite a relaxing morning. We can certainly recommend this activity!

Incredible experience. Friendly and knowledgeable guide, and the snorkeling was amazing. And lots of flamingos!!!

Easy to book. Highly informative and friendly staff. Everything was explained fully and our guide made it fun and safe. Keep taking care of those mangroves!
