"Seek, and antiquers shall find that New York is a paradise of flea markets, vintage shops, and emporia like this one offering up all kinds of goods. The Manhattan Art and Antique Center is in Midtown East, near the tony Sutton Place enclave. Its individual shops and galleries feature everything from Egyptian antiquities to classic toys from the golden age of American manufacturing."

This is one of my favorite place to hang out when I’m in the neighborhood. There are many art and antique vendors here. There are antiques from all around the world, China, Middle East, America, and Africa. They also have arts from mid-century to contemporary. It’s a gem of the city.

Incredible antiques and jewelry playground (mostly for the rich) but some affordable gift items there as well. Love this high end antique mall - like no others on the planet. Well worth a visit and highly recommend.

The place resembles a rubbish storage depot. The Chinese woman dealer with empty booze bottles and garbage in her stand that has no lighting has now set up a table in the hallway where she can eat her smelly food and sort through her junk bag. Only maybe four dealers here are worth checking out, whilst the rest look like a backdrop for a Ken Russell horror movie.

Google
Incredible treasures to find there. Its basically on of the best 'museums' in Manhattan - and you can actually shop there. Even though you may need the necessary changes and space for some of the items. Incredible things to see in the many stores. Check it out for yourself :)

Very happy that the Art & Antiques Center is open...Sunday was my first time to return since March. Public spaces were spotless. The main entrance was manned by a very pleasant gentleman, professionally dressed with a tie. After saying good afternoon, he politely asked that I sign the guest book (for tracing, if necessary), took my temperature, then welcomed me to the Center. All very civilized. The Center is a treasure trove of virtually every possible period with something for every collector. My favorite shop is David Meyers Antiques on the lower lever just off of the spiral staircase. David is extremely well versed in his collections offered in his shop...one area of import is Chinese Export. Also an excellent range of European pieces. A very polite and articulate dealer...affordable prices, too!

Google
Not much to see here. Most sellers aren’t present and most antiques are stored in a lackluster way. The items are for a very specific clientele which is definitely not the ordinary person looking for interesting pieces. It could be viewed as a museum, however none of the pieces are put in the forefront. If you are looking for an interesting afternoon in a museum-like environment, then this is the place. If your looking to buy antiques, this is most likely not the right place.

Yelp
I looks awesome. I walked clear across Manhattan to get here on a Sunday afternoon and even though the website says it's open, only 10% of the stalls were actually open. I saw stuff I wanted to investigate but they were all behind locked cages. Very disappointed and didn't spend a dime. I

Yelp
I don't trust those dealers ,so I wouldn't buy anything there. wouldn't spend $1 there .Long story short, my man was working in antique center, he was not treated nice by those nasty dishonest antique dealers. plus they are so cheap they always cut your salary left and right and steal your hours here and there. after hear true story happened in antique center . I wouldn't want spend more than 5 minutes there.

Yelp
Illisa's Vintage Lingerie recently joined the fantastic portfolio of Antique and Fine Art Merchant's. Illisa the owner is hands on and has 40 years experience recently moved into the center . Specializing In Early 1900's Night Attire & Accessories . A favorite of the Fashion elite's , old school knowledge , inventory , expertise . A true gem. This is the most unique store of its kind in North America . Illisa has collaborated with industry titans in fashion , theater , film , tv , music . Her credits are impressive enough to not have a website , email address. A New York Original !!!! Call her Tel # 212-627-2800 or Visit Gallery 92 In the Antique Center .

Yelp
Manhattan Art & Antiques Center reminds me of the Louvre des Antiquaires in Paris. Multi-level building filled with stalls of vendors selling all kinds of antiques, ranging from furniture, to crystal / porcelain, to art / sculpture, to precious jewelry. Pieces also range from unsigned to ultra high-end, provenanced, designer lovelies from the likes of Oscar Heyman, Tiffany's, VCA, Cartier.....you get the idea Not all pieces are vintage but are in vintage-style so pays to ask if you cannot already tell. Prices at all the stalls we visited were negotiable, so I imagine this is common throughout the Antiques Center Very quiet place, very few visitors, & there were more than several stalls empty / under construction.....but even so, this is well worth an hour or 2 to browse the clocks, vases, statues & sparklies & who knows? You just might walk out of there w/ a treasured trinket or bauble And if you live out of state ( like we do ), there's no sales tax & they'll ship for free! Best tip I read was something about many of the vendors not being open on Saturdays, so we visited on a Friday & just about everything that could have been open, was.....we also noted some of the stalls that were not open, did have signs on their doors stating they were appointment-only Final side note not specific to this place but for all vintage establishments: Whenever purchasing signed antiques, you *definitely* want to do your homework and make sure you get authenticity-refund guarantees / provenances / etc.... IN WRITING - since there are unscrupulous people out there in the world. Don't get fooled!!

Yelp
This antique center has anything you could want in a high end setting. The goods sold there are of the finest quality and cannot be found in the average shop. Many of the dealers have been there for years and provide great customer service. I have met several of the dealers over the years and find them to be honest and helpful. My favorites are Suchow and Seigel on the bottom floor and Hoffman and Gampetro on the top floor beside the front door. Sanford Suchow is from the old school and provides superior service with patience and charm. Ron Hoffman and Brian Stewart are great antiques dealers with years of knowledge and experience. Their selection of jewelry and fine smalls is unmatched in the antique center. Buying from them is a wonderful experience. Steve Browder

Yelp
A wonderful collection of true antiques. Fine art, statuary, furniture, cultural relics. I've added a few exquisite 19th century paintings to my walls from this place. While the inventory is amazing, some -- but, only some-- of the vendors are not as charismatic, helpful, or friendly as they could be. It can be like pulling teeth to get a price or information on a piece you find interesting. I've actually had to walk away from a space here because it was too much trouble for a vendor to show me a work or get me a price. Perhaps I just don't look like someone who can afford their wares? It's either the sellers don't take me seriously, or they don't take their sales seriously. That said, the vendors I have bought from were wonderful. And, I treasure and cherish the pieces I acquired here. I describe it to friends as "A museum where everything is for sale," and tell them they should drop by when in town.

Yelp
All the items look like they belong in a museum. Very nice, 3 floor antique galleries with various items from around the world. I had a great time exploring this place with my sister. We were the only people there so we felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. I would say the friendliest gallery owner was Hadassa Antiques Gallery.

Yelp
I came with my friends yesterday to look for some gifts for the holidays. They have an eclectic variety of all kinds of antiques! I was able to find what I was looking for and the staff was very friendly. Must come if you are looking for antiques in New York!

Yelp
What an absolutely amazing, fantastic building. A 3 level gem, hidden in the middle of Manhattan, with 80 dealers selling everything from silver, jewelry, art, books, furniture, chandeliers, statues, vases, bronzes, marble, paintings, Oriental etc. etc. Even a vintage perfume bottle dealer. This has to be seen to be believed. Something for everyone. Monday to Friday all year round.

Yelp
This place is nice. I do not trust all the dealers in the Porcelain area. They seem to all be related, and seem to not really tell they truth. Some of the dealers are very nice, and I found really nice pieces.
