I have been coming to Manila bakery for several years but have not had a chance to provide a proper review. By the way, I glanced at the previous reviews on Google and they seem to show some truth. First of all, their pan de sal remains to be the best, this is my opinion. Compared to other bakeries, they have that distinct taste and texture that truly please my palate. However, the quality of customer service experience is lacking the Filipino culture of warmth and hospitality. The staff at the counter demonstrates a cold personality, so business-like, detached, straightforward and seemingly showing a robotic approach that lacks empathy. I wonder if this behaviour is acceptable to the management or if they don’t really care, as long as she’s accurate with her money/cash transactions. When done with the items bought, she’d ask every customer, “is this final or are you going to change your mind?” I was appalled by how she was saying this. I would advise that, as Pinoys, we have to be very careful with our words, it’s a matter of choice… be magalang, tatak natin ito, it won’t cost a thing. Recently, I bought “dinuguan” and it was pretty good. I’ll keep coming here just because of the products…Thank you Manila bakery.

I just went in at 7:30 am on the morning to buy fresh pandesal for my kids and the lady came out and said none ready yet 15 monte minutes. I waited patiently inside the store and another man came in and asked for some as well then he waited. When the bread was done SHE served him first before me and she knew I was there first. I thought that was rude of her. FIRST COME FORST SERVE LADY.

I came to Manila bakery today to buy fresh pandesal, which by the way is great…..BUT….. I did come across a very rude cashier. I saw two skin products behind the cashier on the shelf that caught my eye. I asked the cashier if I can see both of them so I can decide on which I would like to buy. But she insisted that I make the decision before seeing the product. I asked nicely but she still wouldn’t budge even if she could’ve just held it closer just so I can see clearer. Anyways I choose the product which is a facial sunscreen and this was the amount that was inside as if someone has already used more than half of the cream. Keep in mind that this is very small container maybe 1inch in diameter so there is very very little cream. -Magdalena

came all the way from hamilton just to receive a very poor customer service. We arrived an hour before the closing only for the women to keep on asking if we're going to pay already even if we're still browsing just because they're closing already. I just hope they just closed the store instead of letting customers in and making us feel we're not welcome. and her tone of voice? can't get it off of my mind very rude talaga hay

I’ve been going to Manila bakery for a long time. I’ve always enjoyed their hot pandesal. By far one of the best in my opinion.

Google
The pandesal still taste good but heads up everyone it just got more expensive. From $4.25 to $4.75 for a fresh dozen & in that dozen some of them got a lot smaller. Customer service is not that great either all throughout my experience of buying there. I wish they have another filipino bakery nearby where a customer should be treated how a customer should be. The price are just getting ridiculously high for no good reason.

Seems pretty busy bakery. The best item is their freshly baked buns. You won’t get them anywhere else. Worth giving a shot.

Yelp
5 stars for being the only place I know in Mississauga who bakes fresh hot pandesal buns all day!!!! I do believe that's their main focus at this bakery. My mom and I will never get tired of their buns and it is not the same anywhere else. It is SO incredibly soft, slightly sweet, SO fluffy and always served hot!!!! When they're warm you can easily eat them on its own, but they're just as amazing the next day lightly toasted with butter and coffee just like I did as a kid. Heavenly. Best part is, no matter what time I go, they ALWAYS have freshly baked pandesal!! There is a man back there who is always baking the bread and friendly lady in front who hands it to you in a paper bag. Priced just above $2 for a dozen deliiiicious fresh bread.. you can't go wrong with something that you can buy with the spare change in your car lol! This goes along with my belief that good food comes in paper bags.

Yelp
Everytime I'm craving for hot pandesal I always go here because I love their pandesal and this is the only place that sell hot pandesal. The only sad part of this place was the cashier or the person who was in the store.. Every afternoon this lady was always there.. She never smile, or even greeted customers. Last Sunday I was there, I asked her to get me 3 bags of pandesal.. And for some reason I decided to get two bags bcoz it seem too much. But I said sorry and She still gave me this nasty look while she's putting my pandesal inside the bag.. Come on.. They need to teach them proper customer service.. Oh btw, I don't buy those heated food they have.. Omg!! I bought OKOY before.. Hollllllly molllllly... Because I was in a hurry that day, I didn't even check the okoy if it's fresh.. (My mistake). When I got home it was HARD like A ROCK.. If I throw that okoy to someone, that someone will get hurt.. That's how hard their okoy was.. Just saying.. ALWAYS CHECK BEFORE U LEAVE THAT PLACE, TO MAKE SURE IS RIGHT.

Yelp
When I need my Filipino fix and in Toronto, I stop by Manila Bakery to pickup baked filipino goodies. I pick up pandesal and the bread thats filled with coconut. I think its called Pande Coco. They also have tons of other baked goodies in the case that you can pick from. They have a lot stuff from the motherland like chips and skin care lightening products. I pretty much wanted to buy everything in the store to bring back to Buffalo and share to my family but alas, i didn't. The pandesal that i bought was hot and fresh out of the oven. Oh man it took it back home. They had some Spanish rolls but i don't think it was the same as the ones back in Hawaii, so I passed on those. Over all, When I need my pandesal fix I will most definitely be back to Manila Bakery.

Yelp
I grew up in a Filipino household in Mississauga and, consequently, grew up eating Manila Bakery hot pandesal, every weekend. Located just east of the southeast corner of Hurontario and Dundas, this spot has been a long-serving storefront for Filipino desserts, snacks, buns, and they also take bulk orders for parties and special events. I'll always be a fan, and not just for the nostalgic factor - their desserts and pandesal (soft, sweet hot buns) are consistently fresh, straight-out-of-the-oven delicious. They have the recipe down pat. Manila Bakery sells their products at various Asian supermarkets across the GTA (like T&T, etc.), but if you want their product fresh, right out of the oven, and you're in the area, buy it directly from their store. A dozen piping hot pandesal, packaged in a no-nonsense brown bag, costs $2.50, which can last you a couple of days. And, if you're looking for a spot to order Filipino Ensymada (sweet bread topped with sugar and cheese) for parties, a tray of 70 pieces of Ensymada costs $20. Really reasonable price point. Overall, a reliable source for Filipino sweets and treats.

Yelp
Luckily for Manila Bakery, they got some overflow business from me! I was painstakingly waiting for a Chicken Biryani next door and thought that I'd investigate this place where I saw hot buns on a rack. I believe this place does most of their business shipping out their buns to various Asian grocery stores 'cause their name looks familiar. I just stepped in and it's a small store front. Against the window were buns on trays, in bags. And on the longer wall, were various packaged items of Filipino products. Then, out of nowhere, the man behind the counter asks me if I wanted "hot buns". He pointed out some buns that were already bagged and emphasized, HOT ones. I asked him the price ($2.50), agree, and he hands over a paper bag with a dozen, small, round buns, piping hot from the oven. I think they were called pandesal. Very yummy and not too sweet! I think they'll be good for breakfast/snack. What a treat! I wouldn't drive out of my way to this bakery 'cause there's not much goin' on, but how can anyone say no to fresh buns?

Yelp
The go to place for pandesal and barbecue sticks. Always serves fresh and friendly service. They have other goods in the store. From chips to bags of rice and peanuts. Its a nice variety and a good place for quick imported goods. The place is kept clean and popular to the Filipino community. Good job guys keep up the good work!

Yelp
Manila Bakery serves up fresh Filipino Breads and pastries. I love the hot pandesal they make as well as other snacks such as the ube bread, and the pan de coco. I wish the lighting was increased a bit more so its easier to see the items. Otherwise overall great experience there . Its great way to way to sample Filipino food. If im in the area and want some pan de coco or pandesal I will check it out

Yelp
Went to Manila Bakery today and bought 1 large ensemada with ube thinking it would be fresh, but when I took it home, the thing was as hard as a rock! Really, Manila Bakery??! Are you guys serious? There was no "best before" date on the label so there is no way to know how long it had been sitting on the shelf. I should've driven the extra few kms to Valerio's, their bread and pastries are always fresh! You just lost another customer.

Yelp
It's now 2018 and now they have a guy at the cash register and he gave my wife crushed pandesal...even though she requested him not to squeeze 3 brown bags in one plastic bag and that it's for our New Year party. When we got home the pandesals are deformed. Lesson: Check your purchase before leaving the store. They are mean to their own kababayan.

Yelp
Went there last Saturday. Sales lady was rude,no costumer service at all. Bought sapin sapin which I'm not sure how long it's been, already hard. Will not go back anymore.

Yelp
Travelled all the way from Illinois to check out this place. Very poor customer service , not even a smile or a greeting to acknowledge someone's presence. This is such a sad behavior that ruins the image of Filipino hospitality and courtesy.
