Ok, at one time, I believed MOM was ok for the price and rarity of shopping for Asian ingredients. Well no more. The new kid on the block is WEEE at https://www.sayweee.com/en When I and my family bit into the cooked tilapia from WEEE, it tasted sooo soft & fresh, nothing like MOM's deep frozen for months if not years fishes. And the cost was $2-$2.50 per tilapia at WEEE and they completely clean them. At this time, WEEE has just about everything you need in MOM without having to dress, take a car or bus there, hunt for the ingredients in tight spaces where you're running into everybody, and lastly stand in long unbearable lines. At WEEE you just place your orders thru their app on your smartphone, look for the day you want them delivered at Checkout which should start in 2 days (or later depending on what you're buying) and they come that day while you track them on your app on the smartphone. You can continue to modify (remove/add items) your order until 1pm the day before the day of delivery without added charges. The other upside is you can use paypal and if paypal allows it, you can set it up for BNPL (buy now pay later) which helps when you have a lot to buy and/or there are great deals you need/want.
If you're delivered rotten stuff, as long as you take a pic immediately of it and upload it to them and state the reason for a refund, then they'll issue it which you have a difficult time doing with MOM. There are reviews for the items so don't forget to look, esp if it's an easily hard to-preserve item like fruits & vegetables. I try and look at the most recent reviews to see if there are any problems. If the items are limited, I may skip the item, not knowing how long they've stored it. They have fruits & veggies that you'll only find in Asia. Not many other Asian markets can rival them in diversity & rarity.
They've got a big diversified frozen section like filipino ice cream, filipino frozen meals like Magnolia's Pork Sisig, Orient Gourmet's [Pork Menudo, Ginisang Monggo, Paksiw na Pata (Pork Hock Stew), Beef Kaldereta (Braised Beef with Vegetables), Beef Kaldereta (Braised Beef with Vegetables), Bistek Tagalog with Beef and Onions (Beef Steak), Bicol Express, Dinuguan (Pork Stew in Beef Blood), Laing (Taro Leaves in Coconut Milk)], thai frozen curry meals, frozen chinese steamed bbq buns and other types of buns, gyoza, pot stickers, lumpia, etc. I even needed non-Asian items like grass fed milk and yogurt and yes, they had those too. They also have many delicious Asian rices from Thailand, Korea, Vietnam. Japan, India, etc.
Their only downside beside consistent freshness is they're on the pricey side, but hey for great quality and diversity, it's understandable. Also, unlike the bricks & mortar market, the package weights of fruits & veggies is already pre-packed, so for example, if you only want 1 pound of bananas, the only size they have may be 3 lbs. Also, sometimes, if the price is very low like $2 or less in the packaged section, then you may have to buy 2 minimum.
Can't stand the crooked cashiers, the fact that MOM deliberately sells the rotten fruits and/or veggies while hiding the rot, can't stand waiting in the long lines that bury you in the food aisles with1 someone's butt in your face or vice-versa, can't stand having to turn in your bags so they don't suspect you of stealing, can't stand the low parking spaces at MOM, tired of trudging along without even any benches to rest on or electric shopping carts to help you shop with if you're disabled in any way, then say OUI, OUI, MON AMI, I'M GOING TO LET WEEEEEEE DELIVER IT TO ME!!!
