Manly Deck

We initially visited The Deck a couple of weeks ago for dinner and had a delicious steak, so I decided to rebook for New Year’s Eve. We were seated at the same table as our previous visit, which has a fantastic view over Manly, and that part was great. However, while I appreciate that it was New Year’s Eve and extremely busy, our area was quickly overrun by people from the nearby smoking section and became very noisy. We were seated at a table where we were eating, with people standing right next to us smoking. In Queensland, smoking is banned in all enclosed eating and drinking venues and within 5 metres of outdoor eating and drinking areas, including any areas where food or drinks are being consumed, whenever food or drink is available. Unfortunately, this was clearly not being adhered to. I raised the issue and asked to be moved, and we eventually found another table, although we had to share it with other patrons. The food was delicious once again, which is why we returned, but the service was very slow on the night, particularly when it came to clearing plates and glasses. While it was a busy evening, there appeared to be a number of staff wandering around without actively attending to tables. The toilets were also quite filthy, which was disappointing. Overall, the food remains a strong highlight, but the lack of crowd control, enforcement of smoking rules, service efficiency and cleanliness on a major event night really detracted from the experience.

10pm on a Saturday night pub crawl. We are greeted with friendly staff, great live music by a local band. After we ordered our first round of drinks a friendly bar staff greeted us with complimentary food which was delicious. Will come back and recommend! The best place for a great feed, live music and fantastic staff. Went on Xmas Eve dinner so was an 16 course event.

We love coming here as the atmosphere is great and the food never disappoints. It’s our favourite place to go for lunch as a family as there is always something that everyone loves. Today I deviated from my favourite dish of surf and turf and tried the goat curry! It really was the ‘greatest of all time’. I will be stalking this page looking for that special again as it was phenomenal!

The best bunny chow outside of SA/Durban! You’d swear the chef has Durban roots; if not South African, my next best guess is he’s South Indian, Chennai or Hyderabad? , because that silky curry gravy is just divine. The flavours are rich, authentic, and absolutely spot on. We also had the 500g OP rib on the bone for the table to share; perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavour. Portions are generous and will keep any pub aficionado happy. The prices are exactly where they need to be, great value without trying to be flashy. The whole place has a relaxed, down-to-earth vibe that suits us to a tee. Everyone there just seemed happy to be out for a good meal and a nice time, from young under-20s to families, date nights, and small celebrations: it really caters for everyone. Two bunny chows, the 500g steak with veggies, a pint of beer, a piña colada, and a drink for the young fell, all for around $120. Can’t beat that. Great service, happy staff, good atmosphere, and we rolled out full and very grateful to have found this place. Live music was just starting up as we left, which would’ve been the perfect finish to an already cracking evening.

Came in for the two for one Wednesday dinner and were blown away by the impressive service and flavour of our meals. We ordered 500gm rib fillet on the bone as well as the seared salmon, rice, and steamed vegetables with garlic sauce. The food literally melted in the mouth every mouthful kept you wanting more. Ontop of the service with a smile and checking that everything was good, what more can you ask for. Will definitely be coming back to such a great atmosphere. If you're looking for a new place to try, definitely do yourself a favour and pay the Manly Deck a visit.

Love visiting the manly deck! The staff are all wonderful, and the owner is always friendly and there to check in. The usual menu is fantastic and always executed up to scratch. We recently went for one of their promotion nights- sand crab curry. I could not recommend these nights more! Just delicious food made from quality products. The atmosphere is always wonderful, with great live bands. It can be a little loud in the main area with the bands, but there's plenty of deck where it's quieter. For a local business supporting other local businesses and individuals- you can't walk past this place.

We had a great experience at the Manly Deck! The staff were awesome, especially Kitty who was super welcoming and helpful, letting us know about the live music later that evening. She offered to reserve a table for us if we wanted to come back - and we did. We loved the vibe on the balcony - perfect spot for a drink with a great atmosphere. Highly recommend checking it out!
