We had the most wonderful Christmas lunch here! The food was absolutely delicious—perfectly cooked, beautifully presented, and full of festive flavors. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it the perfect place to celebrate the holidays with family. A special shoutout to Aaron, Jaye and Erin, who went above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable. Their service was attentive, friendly, and made us feel truly special. Highly recommend this place for any occasion, but they really shine during the holidays. Can’t wait to come back!

Nice renovations. Have had lunch here twice on separate occasions in the restaurant. Food is pretty good, but on both occasions, weeks apart, the flies are a major drawback and nuisance.

We held a wake for my mother at the manly hotel. Amy was the first staff member I had contact with & she was caring, supportive & like a breath of fresh air. On the day the staff were amazing - professional, courteous & caring. The food platters were exceptional- tasty fresh food beautifully presented. Thank you all. You made a difficult day much more manageable.

On a recent visit to the Manly Hotel, I was extremely impressed by the young lady (Emma G.) who was looking after the sports bar at the time I was there. She was totally professional in her duties and more so had a great personality to go with it. Never stopped smiling and made my stay very enjoyable. A big asset to the company in my opinion.

This place changed my life, I went here and haven't gone back. No other pub compares and I don't wanna go anywhere else. I love the Manly. John served me and it was the best experience, I ask for him by name every time.

Had an unbelievable meal here. Not only was the parmigiana cooked to absolutes perfection. But the service from the lushes ranga whose code name is “John” truly blew my mind. He was funny, charismatic, good looking, and best of all built like a refrigerator door. I WILL BE BACK SPECIFICALLY TO SEE JOHN have my children.

Another great experience at Manly hotel tonight. Always feel welcome the moment we step in the door. Erin and Victoria in particular really made our night tonight with great service, very friendly and as busy as it was we felt well looked after. It's never a bad night there but tonight was fantastic. Friends of ours were visiting for the first time and they can't wait to come back. Thank you again to the great staff. It was much appreciated.

Yelp
This pub is great. I actually remember coming down here years ago, namely because I wanted to see what Manly in Queensland was like (short answer being - not the same). Anyway, I decided to come back here again, even if just to refamiliarize myself with this pub, and it turned out that it was great. It certainly does try to appeal to a wide range of people, namely because of the selection of beers that are available on tap. In fact, this pub is actually pretty cool, with some really friendly staff, and of course they also have a lovely verandah area which gives you the option of some people watching as well. Yes, this is definitely a great pub.

Yelp
The Manly Hotel has a bit of everything. It is laid out a bit like a maze, there seems to be room after room, bar after bar. They have a gaming area, TAB, sports bar, dance floor and accommodation. I went with my partner and his mates when they were visiting from interstate. They really have everything in one place to make for an awesome night out. The NRL was on so of course we watched the game (yawn), then we moved to the bistro for dinner, then into another bar area for a few more drinks and lots of merriment. Except for me, who was driving them home. Even so, the atmosphere is fun and the food is pretty good too.

Yelp
The Manly Hotel was my local watering hole in my younger days. I hadn't been in a very long time so when I was in Manly last week decided to stop in for lunch. The Sails Bistro has had a complete overhaul since the last time I was there and I was very impressed. The menu is new and fresh and as a sucker for seafood I couldn't go past the BBQ Seafood Plate, a piece of char-grilled barramundi, king prawns, salt & pepper calamari, and fresh pacific oysters served with tartare sauce for only $34, it was so good. I was very glad to see that they still have Oz Karaoke on Thursday nights, one of my favourite pastimes! I have so many fond memories of this place and even with all the changes it still has the same great atmosphere.

Yelp
There are some specials on meals here and the food is pretty good. The Thirsty Camel liquor barn attached had its heyday before the advent of the real bigbox places, but it's still fairly competitive. What gets me is this place is in a multi-million dollar prime position, but never seems to have reached its potential. It's a bit old, rowdy and ordinary. In saying this, I have some friends who love it, and have become 'members' of the pub, but I've never felt compelled to go there.

Yelp
I am a past wait staff employee of the Bistro. Just to get that out there. I know that sounds biased - but I feel it gives me a very accurate idea of the inner workings and quality of the food. I ate there every single day for a couple of years. I paid for all of my meals and I felt the prices were very reasonable. I could even afford to eat there 5 days a week on a traineeship wage. I never got sick of the food. They were always updating the menu. The kitchen staff took their job seriously. There was very strict monitoring of the staff to make sure quality and cleanliness were maintained. I tried every meal on the menu, the ingredients in each dish were complimentary. Basically it was bar food with a restaurant flare to it. Simple, yet elegant. The food was of very high quality - and it was fresh and prepared on site. I know this will probably get in the untrustworthy filter. But personally - I wouldn't review anything I wasn't giving 4 or 5 stars. I've worked in other places I would not review at all. I was simply impressed enough by The Manly Hotel to feel inspired to write a review years after leaving.

Yelp
Service was great..food was great..very disappointed with the manager who sternly order our friend who is a pro muso off the piano..with the remark.." it's not for customers "..very disappointing attitude! Patrons were about to be treated to a lovely live performance for free..sad reality is the piano has remained unused for years! I wonder why?..

Yelp
Food here is brilliant. Its better than pub food. Sandy McDonald is a super publican with the right attitude to run a hotel. When buying restaurant meals you can buy a bottle of wine and drink it on premises..... There bottleshop is excellent and the ambience of the hotel is spot on... seafood and steak are the best imo

Yelp
I only put one star as zero was not an option. Decided to come here for dads birthday celebration. After ordering, we were told 45 minutes until our meals would arrive, a little annoyed but understandable as it was busy. However after waiting over 45 minutes a few entree's that were ordered with mains came out. Another 45 minutes goes by and we FINALLY get our meals. I ordered a chicken schnitzel with a side of chips, what came was ten measly chips on the side of an average meal at best. my dad ordered a medium-done steak and it came out as well-done as they come. Cardboard. Considering it was his birthday, he had high hopes for a nice dinner with his family, the disappointment was written all over his face. My partner ordered a pizza for $15, so we expected it to be a half decent size but what arrived was a pizza the size of my hand. I have never done a review before but I was so disappointed with this experience that I needed to review this place.

Yelp
No stars . only selected one star as you can't post your review otherwise. Went here for my wife's birthday and was very disappointed. Food is bad and overpriced. Chicken parmy - the batter or crumbs around the chicken was a gluggy mush. Not cooked somehow. It looked and tasted like a School science experiment. My wife ordered the barramundi. $30 for a piece of Fish slapped on a plate with a little miniature bowl of greens. You don't get the usual choice of spuds chips Salad or veg. You get one but pay for the other. Tricky. Then out came the salmon ? Politely told the waitress we have the wrong meal. The waitress came back with the docket and told us it was our fault as it said salmon on the docket to which I kindly replied its your fault as wife wife ordered barrimundi - you typed in salmon. My wife doesn't eat salmon by the way. Not sure why she would suddenly order it. Had a Side bet with my daughter we would all finish our meals before my wife received hers - I won , and my wife ate alone. Happy birthday. These guys are still in the 80' s with City restaurant prices even for pub grub.
