Mannings Bakery was such a lovely experience! Even though we don’t usually like sweet things, everything here was so well-balanced and delicious, especially the pancakes and cupcakes. The atmosphere was cozy, and the service was outstanding. Bryan, the manager, took such great care of us with genuine kindness, and the whole team was warm and welcoming. It’s a place where you feel at home. Highly recommend, even if you’re not a big fan of sugar!

Google
Fabulous bakery and café. Delicious celebration cakes and cream pastries for a special treat.

I got a Club Sandwich & a coffee to eat in. The Club Sandwich was bland with large chunks of chicken. It was desperately missing some salt. I had to cut the chicken chucks myself to make it edible. No tomato or lettuce either, which are usually staples for me on a Club.

I ordered a cake for my colleague retirement party. The cake was delicious. Unfortunately, when the cake was delivered, its presentation was bad.

I recently ordered a 16-inch square fresh cream cake for my boyfriend's birthday, and I can honestly say it was the best cake I’ve ever had in Dublin. Though we accidentally ordered a size much larger than needed, it worked out perfectly—everyone loved it so much that they took slices home! The vanilla sponge was incredibly light and airy, almost cloud-like, and paired perfectly with the fresh fruits and delicious cream. It wasn’t overly sweet, which made it even more enjoyable. The cake was a hit with everyone, and we couldn’t stop talking about how perfect it was. Thank you, Mannings Bakery, for such a wonderful experience. I'll definitely be ordering from here again! Highly recommend for anyone looking for top-quality cakes in Dublin

Google
I ordered 2 birthday cakes for my daughter’s 18th. A chocolate mud cake and a Victoria sponge. Both were delicious. The Victoria sponge was the lightest cake I have ever eaten. Would recommend and will be using again. I had the cakes delivered. I received a text on the morning of delivery to share the estimated time.

Google
Absolutely one of the most delicious bagels and fruit tartes I have ever eaten. Definitely a must stop while walking around the city visiting.

Google
I recently ordered the Black Forest Gateau square for my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary, and it was absolutely stunning. The fruit and chocolate decorations were beautifully done, and the inscription on top of the cake was elegant and thoughtful. It made a gorgeous centrepiece for the celebration, and my parents were absolutely delighted. The cake itself was delicious—the sponge was light and moist, and the fresh cream paired perfectly with the black cherries. I would wholeheartedly recommend Mannings; their cakes and pastries are always a hit, and the staff couldn’t be nicer. A big thank you to everyone at Mannings for helping make the day so special.

Yelp
My daughter led me here to try a cupcake and I also had to get a cinnamon roll, this place has everything to make your tastebuds happy in a sugary way. Cakes, pies, pastries, all delightful, we did "takeaway" as the Iocals call it but they have tables and chairs in a nice space to eat in, everything looked clean and nicely decorated.

Yelp
The shop is warm and inviting and it is nice to have a bakery with tables and chairs, instead of only take away. The staff was cordial. Their baked goods all looked delicious. I ordered the raspberry coconut, vanilla sponge due to nostalgia. I wondered if it tasted like those zingers from childhood. It was OK, not amazing. However, I would go back for that kinder Bueno tart.

Yelp
Stopped in for a mid day café latté. Placed my order at the counter and enjoyed sitting by the window people and weather watching! It's incredible to see how the weather changes on the drop of a dime from pure sun to rain. Sweets, pastries and cakes looked delicious. Service was okay, choice of music would not be my first choice-a mix of 90is punk rock, Shania Twain and No Doubt. My café was pretty, hot and to my liking. Saw there was "guest" Wi-Fi but when asking for the password I was told that it was not working.

Yelp
Myself ordered one cake for my daughter first birthday from thomas street mannings bakery. Nothing was written in the cake as per our request.Ordered to get the cake in the evening but the delivery came in early morning. Poor service. I willnot recommend mannings to anyone.

Yelp
I loooooooove Mannings! Whether it's a delicious sandwich or a cake slice I'm craving, Mannings is the go to if I'm eating out while in college. They have a menu of sandwich options, but you can also make up your own sandwich which I love! My go-to sandwich contents consists of goats cheese, pesto and sun dried tomatoes with a small bit of mayo, toasted on brown bread. My mouth is watering at the thought of it right now. Their red velvet cake slices are also worth a try as they are absolutely divine, as are all of the desserts though really. You can get your food to go or sit in, I mainly get it to go as it is always incredibly busy during lunch hours. You can also avail of a 10% student discount with a valid student card, and if you don't have a student card, you can get a sandwich stamp card and build up 10 stamps and get your next sandwich free, which is always a great incentive to return!

Yelp
Good cafe for lunch. Homemade bread and pastries await you at Mannings. Get the beef melt sandwich and add brown sauce to it.

Yelp
Placed a cake for Christmas gift with 2 weeks notice and they cancelled my order 2 DAYS before the delivery date!! There was no explanation, communication or email.. just a PayPal refund!! Left me in the lurch with NO NOTICE to arrange an alternative gift!!! SO UNPROFESSIONAL

Yelp
It is a lovely place, and cakes look great. I was just saying that I wanted "an americano and a slice of ca.." when the waitress just started ignoring me to dedicate her attention to the coffee. Well.. Okay. I tried a pear and almond tart and it was tasty, but really dry. The service did not improve. I wasn't given a spoon for my coffee, and there were none available for the customers to take. Not a big deal, but I noticed one lady complaining about the same thing, and one of the waiters brought a spoon immediately after. Not so bad, overall; I might come back, but customer service could easily be improved.

Yelp
You know you have found somewhere special when the blue rinse parade frequent a bakery religiously, they know their buns! And you also know you are on to a good thing when the arty students of NCAD, the flash suits of the local big businesses and the blue rinse parade hang out in the same joint as each other. So that said, coffee is great, service is great BUT above all the baked products are unreal. I think I want their eclairs as my last wish on my death bed... Oh and least I forget, they are reasonably priced so no excuse to buy them for me on my death bed.

Yelp
5min walk from the Guiness factory and plenty of tasty treats!! Good place to start the day with full breakfast menu and great coffee options!!

Yelp
I'm so glad we walked past this delightful cafe/bakery. I wasn't a bit hungry but 1 look at the delectable display and the packed diner was enough to steer me into the restaurant. I figured a bakery this crowded can only mean the food is likely to be damn good or damn cheap. Either way I was not about to walk away without sampling the goodies. I ordered a coffee, a piece of Chocolate cake and a sherbet. Needless to say the dessert was quite delicious. I enjoyed the rich coffee as well. The Java was a good compliment to the rich chocolate cake. Perhaps next time I shall order some of their lunch choices.

Yelp
Mannings is probably my one and only place for breakfast! I've never tried the cakes (maybe because I know I could get too addicted and that could be dangerous) but I so love their sandwiches they use lovely salads, nice cheese, nuts, vegetables and those ingredients that makes the whole thing full of different flavours and aaaahh is so tasteful! (Haha I had a moment there) You will never go wrong... Scramble eggs, yogurt and fruits, toasts, fresh orange juice... Everything is very good. I super recommend it!

Yelp
A warm, welcoming café that does a brisk trade in the kind of cakes my mammy made. That said, they also do a good, strong cappuccino and croissant. In fact, their customers span the whole range from hipsters to pensioners. What I have liked, any time I have been there, is that they have no problem with older people sitting and chatting for ages when it's clear that their coffee was finished long ago. Worth it for the atmosphere alone, in fact.

Yelp
This place does lovely food their sambos are lovely, a little pricey but something different than what you get on a supermarket deli...just don't look at their cakes, you'll want them all! Their cheesecakes are so yummy! the only reason mannings didn't get the 5* from me is their sandwich fillings and salads, although they all look delicious and fabulous, I've no idea what half of they stuff is because they aren't labelled. Most of the time I go for the fillings that I know instead of trying something different as its quicker and easier than asking what everything else is. I'd definitely recommend this place, I'd go in offpeak times though because it gets extremely busy at lunch time....especially if you wanna figure out what fillings they have, when someone finds out, please let me know

Yelp
Thank you to Mannings, for delivering a beautiful assortment of pastries and rolls for our relatives. We ordered from abroad to send to our relatives in Dublin, and the delivery was very welcomed!

Yelp
An actual real, live, honest to God bakery where, y'know, they bake stuff!! Themselves, every day from 5am or something. It's all good here, as befits the kind of local institution where they feed the entire neighbourhood every day: breads and cakes - obviously good. Their Fry is a thing of beauty and a hangover special. Plus they offer quiches, sausage rolls, salads and serious soups. Very well priced, and decent coffee to boot!

Yelp
Very impressed with this place. First things first, it was the only coffee place open within a mile of our accommodations when jet lag had woken us at 7am. Walking in, the atmosphere is bright but pretty relaxing. There's plenty of sweet and savory foods on display to tempt you, but my husband and I chose to order off the breakfast menu and were not disappointed. The spinach+mushroom toast (w/ egg and roast tomato) was fantastic, bread was clearly baked in house and you get a generous portion. Coming from Alaska, this meal would have cost me $10 to make at home, but I got it here fresh and hot for €5.50. We'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Some guy was working on a wall next to us in the kitchen. It felt like a construction site. They were either drilling on the door it sanding the walls in the kitchen. It wasnt hearing safe and prevented us from enjoying the food especially while they were coming in there. If the food was good, we couldn't tell. The staff didn't seem to speak English that well either. Oh yeah it costs extra if you eat at the restaurant. I suppose a restaurant is not what I think it means. Welcome to a sit down place, oh by the way, it costs extra to sit down. Hmmm....
google avatar

Sara C.

Yelp
Mannings is an institution. Massive breakfasts. Great salads. Lunch time menu is a great price. Eclairs and cream donuts to beat the band (be still my cholesterol clogged heart!) and bread that Mam will come in especially for. It's never impossible to get a seat but it certainly seems so most days. The place is usually jammed with old-school locals, new-school locals, business men and art students. So quite the mix! The staff are like machines, constantly cleaning as they go around, a table need only be empty a few seconds before its cleaned off and has someone new on it. An institution.

Yelp
Love a bakery where you can sit down and eat your cake and have tea. I say this cos my local Manning's is just a take-away bakery and after buying my eclair or pastry I walk around Blanch looking for a nice spot to sit. But this one is a cafe as well, that has a deli for food, and I see on their menu they do French Toast as well! But the cakes are what the bakery is known for, the toffee apple slices, the apple strudels, and the choux buns and eclairs, all fresh and yummy! If only it wasn't a bit out of the way, I would go there each time when in town!

Yelp
Dirty, horrible customer service, latte that taste like milk. The latte was so bad that I had to throw it away and go to another cafe nearby.
google avatar

Yelp
After one look in the window, my dad and I stopped in here for a quick pastry and a tea. We were actually on our way to another little cafe, but the display looked so good we figured we'd try it out. I got earl grey tea and a fruit tart, and my dad got green tea and a cinnamon roll. It was hard to choose! The counter staff was patient and friendly as we kept changing our minds. WIFI was free and easy to access. Only wish I had remembered to take photos of our delicious pastries so that we could upload them here!

Yelp
I try to stop into Mannings at least once a month for a lovely, flaky sweet apple tart that calls my name every time I'm near Thomas St. The bustle and rush in this lovely bakery-come-cafe is delightful; with a cup of coffee and a slice of almond cake the better part of an afternoon can be whiled away with delight. Naturally, Mannings is no North Side secret. Everyone -and I do mean everyone -stops in during the day, from grannies and bankers to trackies and van men. Join the crowd during lunch for a hearty roast beef and swiss sandwich accompanied by a few heaped spoonfuls of their delicious side salads. Prices are average for City Centre fare and well worth it for cosy booth by that giant window (perfect for people watching).

Yelp
Mannings was sold to us as a good local place for a cheap but decent feed and that's exactly what it turned out to be! Filled up on some Mediterranean veg soup with some multi-seed bread. Seed bread indeed as there was as much seed as there was bread. Soup and atmosphere were both ok. No frills.

Yelp
I came back to this bakery after some time. I used to get eclairs and tasty coffee here. Well they didn't have any chocolate eclair so I took carrot cake which was dry I don't know if it was fresh even. Coffee was so bad my latte didn't even look like proper latte. Only good thing service was really nice girl behind cake counter . Maybe I'll go back again to check on eclair hopefully they will have any:(

Yelp
Good little spot with some delectable looking pastries, sandwiches and spreads. I spent about 15-20 minutes in here just to kill some time. My americano was decent enough and the price was right too. The only oddity was that the men's bathroom was locked when I went to use it. The door itself said "vacant" but the door would not open. When I inquired about it, the staff told me to use the women's. I decided to go elsewhere to use the facilities. I'm sure that's something they will fix.

Yelp
Mannings underwent a makeover a year ago and I have to say that I am not pleased with the results. In the beforetime, there was a sandwich and a bakery counter at the front and you took your tray into the gloom of the sprawling back room, found yourself a nook and a table and got down to it. Now, everything is open plan and bright, and in my opinion, the worse for it. It is no longer the perfect little hideaway and there appear to be fewer seats. As for the food, the cakes are great (a shout out to the chocolate eclair) and the array of sandwiches is staggering. The staff members are a heady mix of old Dublin and Eastern European and come in often enough and they will banter with you.

Yelp
The shortest review I have ever written, as there is no need to go on too long: awesome cakes and pastries, really cheap but also really tasty... absolutely recommended! P.S. Try the custard and fresh fruit tart and let me know! :3

Yelp
I've been here a few times, it's just located off Thomas street. The service is fine but the food is okish. They serve a good variety of food but there is no gluten free options. It's a bit expensive for what your paying for. Not a fan of the place but if your every around here and looking for something quick to eat it does the job.

Yelp
Love Mannings but please bring back the cream pies!!! I miss them :-(
google avatar

Brendan S.

Yelp
Hungry for lunch, I came for pies. Savoury pies. There were none. It soon became clear that I'd missed the point. Mannings is where you come for an old-school Irish breakfast or cream cakes. I'm thinking Ann's Hot Bread Shop circa 1995. Honestly, I was disgruntled with the lunch deli options. But my frown turned upside down when I decided that no self-respecting diner at Mannings should leave without trying some cake and devoured the coffee slice. With sweet coffee icing sticking to the roof of my mouth, laminated flakes of pastry spilling into my lap and generous whipped fresh cream and bonus jam squelching all over my fingers, I left knowing that I'd have to come back for more.
google avatar

Jon L.

Yelp
Although the pastries are quite good, the cappuccino I ordered was far from what it should be. The drink served to me was mostly boiling hot milk without any foam. If you go, order an Americano.
google avatar

Claire S.

Yelp
One of the best bakeries in dublin. I have ordered birthday cakes a wedding cake and had numerous coffee slices in here. Sandwiches delicious also....best bakery in town....
google avatar

Lindsay L.

Yelp
I've stopped in Mannings Bakery in Blanchardstown Shopping Centre plenty of times but this was my first time stopping in their bakery. It was my own fault for waiting until last minute as the selection is a bit picked over by 4:30pm, but even the limited selection that was left the cakes still tasted amazing. Even better, 2 cakes for €3.60 and let me tell you, each and every penny of this goodness is worth it.

Yelp
This is a cute little cafe. The coffee is good and the food looks nice, though I haven't tried it. My only complaint is the absence of posted business hours and the relatively unfriendly staff. In here on a Sunday afternoon before closing, the staff seemed totally uninterested in serving customers.
google avatar

Kristen H.

Yelp
So yummy and reasonably priced. I purchased a chicken and streaky bacon sandwich with the cauliflower soup. All for just €8. Later got carrot cake as takeaway for €2.

Yelp
Haven't tried the deli/coffee section but bought a birthday cake for my Dad's 60th birthday here. It was delicious and i was very tempted by all their baked goods on show! Will definitley be back again to try out more.

Yelp
I ordered a cake to be delivered for my sister's 30th birthday this past weekend, a carrot cake. Not only was the cake delicious (according to my sister) Manning's went above and beyond to deliver it. I ordered the cake from the US, as a surprise, because we couldn't all be together for her birthday and when I didn't hear from her I was afraid something had gone wrong. I spoke with Anesia, who tracked the cake down and made sure it was delivered, apparently she hadn't been home when they tried to deliver the first time. The cake arrived perfect, with candles and a beautiful handwritten card. Thank you so much for making sure she had a cake on her birthday and for it being so delicious, only wish I could've had a piece!

Yelp
Mannings Bakery offers a peaceful escape from hectic Thomas Street. The sandwiches and pastries are above and beyond (try the carrot cake!) and the coffee is fantastic. There is plenty of seating space and mothers with prams would not feel uncomfortable. Inexpensive and very yummy, Mannings Bakery is a satisfying experience.

Yelp
My absolute favourite bakery is Mannings. Their cakes and biscuits are always so fresh and delicous. They are very reasonably priced also. If you are just looking for a few cakes or biscuits with your tea or a birthday cake or other cake for special occasion then this is the place to go!

Qype User (JK2…)

Yelp
I was very excited to come out and try this bakery, but am feeling a bit disappointed. The scones tasted a bit overworked and in need of a dash of salt in order to accent the sweet/tart raspberries. The Apple Cake has store bought filling in it, which from a bakery priding itself on homemade cakes, seems really odd. It's a distinctive processed taste. Too bad! Seems like a yummy idea. Also a lot of the cream in the cream desserts looks a bit tired. The atmosphere isn't very cozy either, a bit bright and like a chain bakery. Overall, if you are passing by it's fine to pop in, but I wouldn't go out of your way to come here. Seemed like a run of the mill, chain bakery.

just an amazing place, great food great staff, and it really brightens the whole street up!

Yelp
i've always gone into mannings bakery when i would be shopping in thomas st. its been revamped in the last 18 months and i have to say, mannings now looks so cool! they are reasonably priced and their cakes are to die for. i would recommend mannings to anyone!

Yelp
Mannings Rocks, Cafe bakeries seem to be all the rage now but Mannings have been around for years and seem to have learnt a thing or two. They are a lot fancier than they used to be but they are still good value and stock quality handmade product. Great cakes, great coffee and a great deli as well. Sanity in a world gone mad!!!
