Had the Full English + Beans (additional £2.50) and it was fantastic! The bread wasn’t one of those low quality loafs from the supermarket - it was really good quality sourdough bread! Sausage was flavourful, very well seasoned with herbs and the black pudding and mushroom were cooked to perfection. I was skeptical about the beans, considering one has to pay extra, but it isn’t just beans from the can! They added their own flavours and other beans to it, which tasted really nice. Service was impeccable too!

Had the beef bao buns, amazing! Great service from really warm and friendly staff. A beautiful little York building, ancient and quirky. Definitely worth a visit. The sandwiches are legendary

The welcome from the staff here (especially Ava) was wonderful on a cold snowy morning. The menu choices were varied and as Ava mentioned you can mix and match things to make your very own personal breakfast choices. The food quality was excellent and cooked to perfection. Both Jonathon & Ava engaged in friendly banter with us which was well received. All in all the whole experience was great. You get what you pay for as they say and the cost reflected the quality on offer. Would give six stars if I could!

My first time at mannion as recommended by a family member and wasn’t disappointed. From the moment we entered we had a warm welcome from Jon who was bubbly, fast and efficient in his service whilst giving us the time we needed to took over the menu. Chloe was also super helpful answering our question and giving us recommendations. We each had a mimosa and soup which was the perfect end to our Christmas shopping day. The service, food and atmosphere was excellent- we will be back!

Superb breakfast. Covered terrace area so we could have our dog with us there. Service friendly and very knowledgeable about allergies and menu choice. I'm gluten intolerant and almost all the menu could be adapted. Delicious.

Was looking for somewhere nearby after we checked out of a hotel for breakfast and by chance came here, so glad we did! Staff are really friendly and give good information about the food. The food was delicious, sadly we didn’t return as we wanted to try other places too whilst visiting York but this backfired as we got a tasteless breakfast elsewhere today (🙈) lesson learnt!!! Would definitely recommend this place, was rather busy too which is always a brilliant sign! Also, the beans!! Fabulous!!

Great spot for breakfast. A little on the expensive side but exceeded all expectations and definetly worth visiting! Food and coffee both very good!

1) Food was amazing. We got the pork belly sandwich which was delicious. the pork belly was so soft and tender. the pork crackling was so good! Crisp and crunchy. The truffle fries were crispy and you can taste the hints of truffle. Delicious. 2) staff were lovely. They were just so friendly and one noticed I had used up my napkin to wrestle with the sandwich so she brought me another one, it’s just little things like that. I would totally come back again if I’m in York. Just a cute little shop with delicious food and good people.
