A very interesting spot and, in my opinion, one of the most underrated viewpoints in Lucerne.
This tower is part of the historic Musegg Wall, the medieval fortifications built in the late 14th century (around 1386–1402) to defend the city. Männliturm gets its name from the little statue of a man (“Männli”) placed on top of the tower, holding a flag as if still guarding the city.
You can climb to the top, and the view is absolutely worth it, a beautiful perspective over the rooftops of Lucerne, the lake, and the mountains. It feels like stepping back into medieval times.
A great stop if you enjoy history, architecture, or panoramic views. Definitely recommended.
