I came here for lunch when I wanted something quick and ready-made, where you can select your entrée and sides immediately. The chicken and beef options all looked flavorful. I went with the beef stew and vegetables both the taste and portion were good, though it was slightly on the expensive side.

First time was Oct 16. I'm a PURE PR. The season was on point with each dish my Family had. The bathroom is cleaned and locked. The place inside was cleaned. The area of the location is not a good spot. Mcdonald is located across the street and the Original Project is there. There is No Parking for the restaurant. The workers are attentive to servicing you. The music is on point and make you feel welcoming.

Great food! It's definitely in a ROUGH neighborhood, but their food is so good!

I went in for a late breakfast and had a mangu con los tres golpes (smashed plantain with a side of two salami rounds, two fried eggs and two slices of fried cheese). Food was good, the location is convenient but please note this isn’t the best of areas. The service wasn’t bad but be prepared to wait for check out. They don’t give you your food unless you pay in advance, whether you eat in or take out. In addition, we had a side of plátano maduros, and one of each kind of empanada and they were good. I didn’t have the Dominican spaghetti but it was a little too pasty for my taste. Overall, if you would like some Dominican food on a whim, this is it.

This food was absolutely incredible! Every bite was packed with flavor, and you could tell it was made with fresh ingredients and care. The portion sizes were generous, and everything was cooked to perfection. The service was fast and friendly, and the atmosphere made the whole experience even better. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great meal and a welcoming vibe. I’m already looking forward to coming back!

The food is mediocre even the rice isn’t well cooked the oxtail was off. It didn’t taste to its usual taste and their prices are Ridiculous for a small plate is between $14-$16 for a large plate is over $20. Prices are outrageous.

I ordered from this place in August for a birthday. Manuel took my phone call and he was so helpful and even sent me the menu and recommended me about the portions. The food was delicious, portions are huge and they have good prices.

Thank you for making this delicious home made Dominican food! I loved your chicken thighs and chicken stew and beef stew! That yellow rice, wow! And the fried eggplant and steamed cabbage and crispy rice was delicious! Will come again!! Friendly warm ambiance!!

As a kid, I use to come here with my mother after she worked a long day. The food is still delicious and affordable! It is not the place to sit and vibe out for dinner but it is a great spot to grab some traditional Caribbean food. Cons: area Pros: food tremendously delicious, friendly customer service and a variety foods! I definitely recommend this restaurant!!!! I ordered chicken and cabbage and obviously it was great!

Do NOT order from this place. I order a whole chicken w/ a side of yuca. The chicken was cold and dry and the yuca was hard. I whole heartedly feel they sent me leftovers from the day before. Mind you I ordered it at 1pm. I called them after I received my order and the lady said "that the chicken was probably cold because of the weather and their heat is not really working"? I'm sorry but isn't the chicken in the rotisserie oven?? Then proceeded to tell me that the yuca didn't come out good that day. WHAT?! So if the yuca didn't come out good, why is it on the menu and why would you send it? TF

Didn't even get to take a picture of the food because I threw it away. I got a small platter to take with me on the road since my drive back home was 2 hours. I decided to pull over to get a taste of the Spanish cuisine and my food was extremely cold. At that moment I got frustrated and even though I was still in Newark, NJ I told myself I would never go here again. Please make sure you tell the women serving your food to change their gloves. I had one woman who gave another customer money, started sweeping, and then came to make my plate. I asked her to change her gloves and she got an attitude. I wouldn't rate this place at all but Yelp makes you give at least 1 star, lucky them!

Tasty pork chicharron but the rest was kinda mehhhh The beans were not very good, and the rice was average at best ! Would probably order the chicharron plate again but not the other stuff

Ordered lunch for the first time here. Amazingly priced! And generous portions. It was good but just a bit salty for me. The maduros I liked! But the rice and beans were eh. If your looking for a cheap and fast meal this isn't too bad. I had half a chicken rice and beans and maduros came out to about $9.50.

Food was great last time I went. Very nice portion for the price. Service was good as I was picking up my food. It was quick in and out. Definitely recommend if you are in arush and want some good food.

This is as close as you can get as grandma's cooking, if your grandma was puerto rican, dominican, or caribbean. Pasteles, empanadas, papa rellena, etc. for side dishes. what more can one ask for?

Manny's is my go to spot while at work for a filling lunch with tons of flavor. It's Dominican home cooking at its best. Their daily choices are always fresh and range from heavy stewed meat choices to light fish and vegetable dishes. Their rotisserie chicken has great flavor but is hit or miss with being juicy to slightly dry. The Chicharrón is crispy and savory. The area is not the best. As long a you are not timid of seeing a few shady characters on the block or dealing with a couple request for loose change, then you should be ok. Manny's mostly serves the commercial truckers and local people that live in the area. They are a family business that take pride in what they do. It's definitely one of the best and economical choices in the area.

The food is great. I had the steak w peppers and yellow rice. My co/worker, ordered the Oxtail w yellow rice. The is great.

My favorite Dominican place. The food is always great, and the staff is pretty nice. I always take it home and have plenty for another meal. The chicharron is absolutely mouthwatering. Definitely need to try it!

I have eaten at Manny a few times over the years. the food was good and a good value. This time I went and had the dirty race and the Beef stew to go and both were so salty the were inedible I ate the plantains and chucked the rest.

I don't know what some of these people are talking about. I have yet to have a bad meal here. The empanadas, excellent.. Arroz con gondules, excellent. Pernil , excellent. Pastelles, great. Overall, good Dominican fare. Service good and fast.

BEST SPANISH food ever! Their whole menu/buffet is to die for, very juicy, amazing flavor and very affordable. They also cater and do a great job at it. The staff is friendly and even though this place gets busy all the time, they move the customers in and out so people won't have to wait a long line. It is a must have if you enjoy great Spanish food! I would definitely recommend it.

The food is always good here no matter what you order . I order pasteles by the dozen from here all the time , they have the best around and they have them all year round . The workers are always very friendly . This place is just a small restaurant with a hot table of food ready to be served and not in the best area but you won't be disappointed by the food or the portion size . I always get my food to go . Also if you want something and don't see it out just ask them . If they have it , they will gladly make it for you .

Delicious food, nice portions and affordable. My fiance and I have a new favorite place when we desire great Dominican food. Not the best neighborhood but you are in and out and the customer service is pretty friendly.

Decent dominican food close to my school's campus. The food is fresh, well seasoned, and price perfectly. I been to this place twice and have gotten chicken, rice with beans, and sweet plantains. Both times the food has been great with leftovers to eat for lunch the next day!

This place makes a good and affordable plate. The portions are very hefty. I've only been here once, the location is not very convenient , but would love to go back when I'm in the area! The staff is very friendly. I recommend this place to anyone looking for good Spanish food that's affordable !

Manny's is the best Spanish restaurant in Newark. At lunch time the lines are long for good reason. Four types of rice/beans...tender chicken...steak...and more. Service is excellent, staff is friendly, portions are large, and the price is very reasonable. If you don't know you better ask somebody...Manny's is the spot for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Oh yeah...oxtails and stewed chicken too!!!!!!!! I'm on my way there now!!!!! Uncle EL

Our church ordered rice and beans, barbecue leg of pork and barbecued chicken; yucca and plantains. The food was delicious and all church members were elated.

I cant believe people are saying its the best they had . Its not the best I've had but it was ok. Im not from around here just work but i had the pernil and arroz con gandules it was not hot . The relleno de papa was good but also cold. The food is ehh.
