Manoir des Éperviers (Quéven, Brittany) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"In a large, elegant park not far from Lorient, guests are welcomed with open arms into this cosy and tastefully decorated guesthouse. The guestrooms, all named after boats – Soling, Dragon, Requin, Optimist, Melges –, are comfortable and very chic. Spa and indoor pool." - Tablet Hotels

The accommodation is lovely, the grounds are beautiful, the rooms are clean if not borderline boring, the pool area is clean. However the TV did not receive a signal and the remote did not work. ||The breakfast was an excellent quality continental breakfast of cheese, ham, yogurt and fresh bread and coffee. Not a pastry in sight, despite many lovely patisserie in the town. I get the feeling the host is more interested in imposing their view of healthy eating than considering the tastes of her guests.||Despite the many positives, the service and attitude was sub-par. We received a voicemail message on the day of arrival telling us that we would need to check in by 6pm as the host would be going out for the evening. The “welcome” email informed us in no certain terms we should arrive after 5pm (quite late if you ask me). We had made plans for the day, and were planning on checking in post 7pm. So we rearranged our plans and we arrived mid-afternoon.||On arrival there is a large metal gate, which require security entry. It took several phone calls to the number listed to get through the gate. (Perhaps all an ominous sign of the type of welcome you should expect). The host immediately reprimanded us for coming too far up the drive-way - beyond the poorly signposted parking. Then continued the reprimand by informing us we were ‘lucky’ she was even in as check-in was only after 5pm…..despite HER calling us on the day to tell us we’d have to arrive before 6pm. ||We were also informed, upon arrival, that the room I had specifically booked and paid for was not available as someone else had opted to stay on, and as such we would be in another room. No discussion, just told.||Despite trying to counter the generally hostile host by being polite and pleasant, I was AGAIN spoken down to when I requested a spoon for my yogurt at breakfast…there was one provided for coffee, apparently, I was told, was sufficient. A 2nd spoon was begrudgingly delivered but only when I’d eaten the yogurt using the coffee spoon.||As another review has suggested, if your looking to enjoy yourself, relax and forget about the time, this perhaps isn’t the place for you. It has more in common with a monastery than somewhere to relax. If me being at your home is an inconvenience, don’t advertise it on the internet and don’t charge me to stay, I’ll find someone who is happy to host my wife and I.

We stayed there for one night for a weekend.||The decoration was nice but the couple was not friendly at all. ||It is funny to choose this kind of job and not knowing how to welcome people and make then feel comfortable. ||We had a severe look and they made us understood we did a big mistake when we first entered by the wrong door. We arrived by the back instead of by the front of the house because we didn’t read the message sent by them in the morning telling us to enter by the front door. I mean we are there to relax and have fun not to be reprimanded by stressed people because we didn’t follow the rules of the house!||Then we found the owners to be very cold. When we tried to chat with them, especially with the lady who took care of us for breakfast she was not warm at all, responding with a curt tone. We were few to stay in this house and we all were very surprised and had the same feeling.||But out of this, the food of the breakfast was amazing, all fresh and handmade and the room was good too.||It is just this experience which ruined everything.||I mean if you don’t like people why are you a host after all? People don’t always get things straight away and what? They are not here to be told off but to have a nice time. That is even more important than the decoration! It was as if we were bothering the host with our presence. They have to learn more about hosting! Especially people who are used to travel.

Stayed at this hotel during a Business Trip in Brittany (Ploemeur). This is a true gem of a place to stay. The owner is pleasant and the whole place is so tranquil and stylish. Breakfast is great and different each day. Although I didn't use the pool this time, it looks absolutely amazing.||||Wifi connection is very fast which made working from the hotel very easy.||||I would definitely recommend this Guest House!

A hidden oasis in a maze of country roads. This was recommended by a local friend and what a beautiful find. Lovely rooms and stunning gardens. Warm and welcoming after an afternoon of touring the coastal villages.
