Review from 11/19/23 (S B J O I) Cozy and warm tavern with a cool vibe and nice clean booths in a beautiful town. I ordered the Birds the Word per the recommendations of other reviewers, however, I personally wasn't a big fan of it - the flavor was good, and the portion was huge, but I personally am not that big of a fan of pimento cheese and my order was just a little too salty. However, my friends liked the Pastrami, the Cheesesteak and Tavern Burger. They also highly rated the Street Fries as a 9.5/10, saying that while it was saucy, wasn't soggy at all, but rated the Maryland State Fair appetizer as a little underwhelming, because it just felt like funnel cakes with average crab dip. Altogether, a wonderful place to go with a great ambience in a beautiful town, providing huge portions and classic tavern food.

Went here for Labor day. Excellent food and service. This is a brew house so I absolutely had the beer. Ended up getting the Manor Lager. Excellent smokey beer. One of my favorites. I ended up having the Bird is the word chicken sandwich and my wife had the Tavern Burger. The food and fries were awesome.

A fairly good place for a meal and drinks! A 3.5 tbh. The beer flight was enjoyable and had a nice variety. The Guiness had an amazing flavor that I haven't had before. The honey old bay wings were okay. The chicken itself was fried well but the sauce was underwhelming. The old bay and honey flavors were subtle. The pizza was decent. I liked the toppings but the consistency of the dough could be better (I think it could be crispier). The crab cake sandwich is okay. The patty had a generous amount of crab and had a nice flavor. The structural integrity of the sandwich itself is compromising. The patty fell apart as I tried to handle it as a sandwich between two buns. I think getting the entree would be better. The service was pretty good while the place was quite busy. Certainly not a bad spot for a meal!

Love their fresh, flavorful food and drinks! Staff is always friendly and helpful. Always ends up busy so best to snag a seat early

Everything was amazing. From the atmosphere to the customer service to the food and drinks. Amazing. I highly suggest and recommend this place. Get the Burratta appetizer was soooooo good. We order it twice and the sauce on the burger was so good. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Worth the trek up the side street and a perfect stop to take a break from climbing the hill. Food was great. I recommend the salads and soup for a lighter lunch. The house beer was delicious. The IPA was one of the better ones I’ve had recently. Also heard good things about the cocktails. Service was good even though it was busy. I’ll be back for a pizza.

Mondays are 1/2 price pizza days, and we just happened to be there on a Monday! 😁 I had the Carnivore pizza, and it was perfect. The dollops of Ricotta were a nice touch. My friend enjoyed a Brisket Sandwich with a dip, and he was quite pleased. Definitely worth a visit when you're in Ellicott City MD. Parking was free, but a little tough to find the lot --- luckily my friend knew the routine 😊

First time here tonight. We had a great server! Had a French onion pizza and confit chicken wings (with honey old bay sauce) with this special rum drink. I’m not really a fan of French onion soup (he is) but I really liked it as a pizza! Gave me the idea to make soupizzas (c), starting with a tomato bisque pizza.

Yelp
Great vibes here! I went on a Friday night and was genuinely surprised by the massive crowd here. My friends and I walked in and it was packed. There was no seating for another 20 minutes, but surprisingly enough they have an entirely to-go service at their outdoor garden which was quite the vibe. We were fortunate the weather was quite warm, but if it was any other condition the outdoor seating would have been a much different experience. The outdoor seating was quite nice. Sets of picnic tables on rocks, each table with two menus clipped onto the sides. There is a server to take orders for you and all the food is delivered in to go boxes. The only note is there is no free tap water for you there. The food comes out quite fast and you are limited to can drinks and caprisun (which several flavors of capri sun to pick from funny enough). I ordered a margarita pizza which was quite filling for one person and I enjoyed it! It was hot and fresh and quite delightful. For 12 dollars one of the better oven brick pizza places I have tried! My friends both ordered burgers and they enjoyed their burger and fries (came with a lot fries). Of note their menu states they have a shrimp Alfredo pizza but they actually stopped offering this. Good vibes here, just expect it to be filled during prime hours if you do not want to sit outdoors.

Yelp
We love the Manor Hill beers that we have tried so we went to the Manor Hill Tavern for dinner and it had some interesting turns in the night haha! Our server was Kaiha (not sure of spelling) and she was very sweet! Had a great attitude with her section being packed the whole night. I got the Prickly Pear Margarita but it didn't really taste like it had alcohol in it so I don't know if that's a good or bad thing, but I got a second one because the flavor was really good. There were 4 of us and we each got something different. I got the seasonal special brick oven pizza which was Pesto, Sundried Tomatoes and Prosciutto with arugula on top. It was delicious! Salty and a little sweet. Next we had the Roasted Garlic Butternut Squash Pasta and I will definitely be back for that! It was creamy with sweet notes and salty crispy prosciutto on the top. Absolutely perfect! Next up was the Sesame Tuna Bowl... this is where it got interesting... there are slices of red Fresno Peppers on the top that are not gutted and they were so hot that my boyfriend had to stop eating because his mouth was on fire and his eyes were tearing up. Please be careful if you cannot handle spice! It was realllllly spicy! Lastly, we got the Pepperoni Pizza and it got two thumbs up for amount of Pepperoni's on it for being a 10" personal pizza. The decor is very cute and tavern-like with stone walls exposed and garland to look like something out of Ireland. All in all it was a great experience and we will absolutely be back to try more delicious menu items. We got seated right away at 7:30pm but tables were scarce at dinner time on a Saturday so take that into account when going!

Yelp
This restaurant sits on a hill in downtown Ellicott City. The parking is pretty tough on the weekends. Get there early to allow for walking. Manor Hill has multiple seating types and atmospheres. We chose the upstairs high ceiling bar. The atmosphere was really cool. There was a live band playing, sports was on the TV, and my company was awesome as usual. While our server was nice, I found him to be inattentive. We waved him down more than he took the initiative to check on us. I ordered the OG Breakfast Sandwich ($12) Croissant Bread, Sausage, 2 Fried Eggs (hard), and a Side of Mixed Greens. I also ordered a pear mule. The food was okay. The pear mule was phenomenal. It was a unique take on traditional mules. I think Id visit again on a less busy day.

Yelp
We stopped here after a day of shopping in old Ellicott City and loved our experience. We started with Alabama White BBQ wings, which were tangy and tasty. The smoked tomato ranch sauce on the side was fantastic for dipping. We also enjoyed the Maryland State Fair, which consisted of Old Bay funnel cakes with crab dip. Maybe a little over the top with the old bay flavor, but certainly unique. The butternut squash pasta with chicken was great, as was the Holy Smoke pizza. Everything was great, service was on point and the prices were reasonable. Great way to cap off a day of shopping.

Osvaldo D.

Yelp
This place was excellent. Pizza was great, drinks were great. Service is also top notch. My kids loved the Tres Leches French Toast. First time in Ellicott City and glad we happened upon this place! Highly recommend.

Yelp
I went to manor hill tavern for Mother's Day brunch back in May THEN had to go back a month later because it was soooooo good. The service was great and the food was tasty and to the point. I have 0 complaints!

Jay G.

Yelp
Great service, great food, can't figure out why we hadn't been here before. We will definitely come back. One of the best Burrata appetizer's we have had and we get it every time it is on a menu The pizza was so good. As close to NY as you can get in MD The smash Burger had tons of flavor Those bacon fat fries were decadent. Overall 10 out of 10

Kelly V.

Yelp
We had reservations, which worked out nicely for brunch time. Our waitress was attentive and polite. She was kind to help set up the check ahead of time, as we asked for a split check. The upstairs dining room is lovely with a fireplace and quiet atmosphere. While I can say the service was spot on, it is the quality of the food and kitchen that I highlight today. All of our entrees were prepared and presented beautifully, smoking hot from the kitchen. The flavor profiles are well planned, and provide options for any palate. Our friends enjoyed the breakfast potatoes and sandwich, while I was impressed with the lunch menu. Highly recommend the chicken sandwich or the chicken and waffles. Many of the menu items offer local specialities and unique combinations. Next visit, I would love to try the figgy pizza and the cocktail menu. Can't wait for date night !

Mark N.

Yelp
Good food, good beer, great vibe. Good place for an after work happy hour. Beer wise I recommend the Citra Splendor: a 8.3 ABV double IPA with a strong hop bitterness and slightly sweet malt in the finish to counterbalance. Food: check out the tavern burger with bacon jam and beer onions or any of their brick oven pizzas.

Yelp
The food was different and the service was pretty good. The location of this place was in the very heart of the Ellicott city downtown historic area so definitely four stars for that I'm not sure why, but I wasn't the huge fan of the chicken that was with my waffle. I suppose I would've preferred it to have a little less fat on it. If my husband was too suggest this place again, I wouldn't mind going again, the service was good. Cute atmosphere.

Jason J.

Yelp
Decent food, good service, good atmosphere. We got the chicken and waffles and Korean tacos with a kick in the head drink during their brunch hours. Overall the food was 3.5 stars but the service, music, and atmosphere bumps it up. The pizza at another table looked good.

Alice L.

Yelp
Had a wonderful brunch - the service was excellent- attentive knowledgeable speedy and friendly! Ambience was great - tables are spacious enough even though the restaurant was full! We had chicharrones which was fried to perfection. The breakfast burrito was delicious as well as the OEC Benedict although the biscuit did fall apart- had a great brunch and can't wait to go again!

Kourtnie K.

Yelp
Made a reservation for my birthday celebration and had an amazing experience at Manor Hill! Our waitress was super friendly and attentive. The food was amazing and drinks were yummy. There were 6 of us and we all really enjoyed our meals. 10/10 recommend!

Jessica G.

Yelp
Classic American food done really well! We came with a reservation as a party of 4 on a Friday evening and were seated promptly. Like most businesses in downtown EC, no private parking, so we had to circle public lot D a couple times until we got lucky and someone pulled out of a spot. It was a 2 minute walk to the restaurant from there. I noticed that they do have a couple of curbside to go designated spots next to their employee parking beyond the building on Old Columbia Pike, in case you get takeout. We ordered the loaded fry appetizer to start, a couple of the specialty pizzas, and a smash burger. I also got the coconut mojito to drink. The fries were rough cut and the perfect amount of crunch, and the personal pizzas were fantastic. The burger patty was not quite thin enough in my opinion to qualify as a smash patty as they advertised it to be, at ~1/2" thick, but it was delicious anyway! Our server warned us that the pizzas tend to come out from the kitchen at a different time than the rest of the entrees, which was appreciated. While it tasted good, my only complaint was that the coconut mojito was obviously light on alcohol content. All in all, I would gladly return for their food.

Yelp
Delicious food, beautiful outdoor area and great service! Thank you all for a great night out :)

Trulea C.

Yelp
We love this restaurant. Popped in for the happy hour. We enjoyed several Draft beers, great new pizzas, and their wonderful kids menu. Service was great and everything was priced very reasonably.

Matt K.

Yelp
Nice establishment in Old Ellicott City - went by myself on a Monday afternoon and was able to easily find a seat at the bar upstairs (which is what they recommended). I ordered the Bird's the Word sandwich, which was good. I'll definitely try the Nashville hot version next time. I also appreciated the fries which were not soggy and not too crunchy. All the staff were friendly and attentive. Also I parked in lot D (free) and walked a few minutes around the corner.

Lennea B.

Yelp
Stopped here for drinks before an event .... Just missed happy hour but the prices were still good. We had the sangria and coconut mojito... the staff got us in and out as requested. They have clean single restrooms. When we walked in the place is warm and inviting. They also choose a charity to donate to once a week or so. I would like to come back and try the food.

Yelp
The short - Located within the Historic Old Ellicott City area, Manor Hill Tavern offers a kind of "elevated pub/bar" experience that feels perfect for a suburban night out. I knew about Manor Hill's beer before their physical locations and I've been a fan. They offer a decent variety of beer types and I can't recall any that I haven't enjoyed. That being said, they do a great job of understanding what their demographic and customer base want. They have a few locations (tavern, brewery in Ellicott City, and I believe they either own or partner with Victoria Gastro Pub). Manor Hill's ambiance has a mix of "tavern" and "pub" vibes on the inside with stone and old wood being the main materials found in OEC. They also set up a rooftop and outdoor patio nearby that allows you to enjoy the character of the area. I would definitely recommend dining in versus carrying out if time permits. The menu selection is a combination of sandwiches, pizzas, and salads. Everything feels fresh and balanced especially from what I would typically expect at a pub. Their sandwiches range from burgers to chicken sandwiches and Cubanos and their pizza menu offers pre-selected combinations or a build-your-own. The salads appeared to have very generous portions from what I've seen. Their service is kind and attentive. They're usually pretty busy, so I could see it being pretty easy to lose track, but I've never really felt that way (although I think the rooftop does get less love because it's out of the way from the rest of the tables). They do run happy hours from 4-7PM on weekdays with pretty good deals on a few taps, cocktails, and menu items. Manor Hill has been a great addition to the OEC area and I'd definitely recommend if you're in the area.

Yelp
Amazing!!! Pleasantly impressed. The flavors, the service, perfect early date spot. Reminds me of back home. Date night in Philly Manayunk .. my heart is smiling! If you haven't tried them yet, please do.

Carolyn C.

Yelp
Manor Hill Tavern is a great go-to for creative dishes! They obviously take pride in their creations because each plate is art--colorful, thought out, and intricate. I like to come here for happy hour after hiking around EC and walking up and down Main Street. At times, I will sit at the bar with my newest book purchase from across the street and sip on one of their wheat beers or even a guest tap. Food is always tasty, staff is always friendly and patrons are always a good vibin' group.

Amanda K.

Yelp
Always love them, but they've added non alcohol beer and mocktails. Very happy with the addition!

Mark S.

Yelp
Felt like the service and food had gone downhill since our last visit. Server seemed put out by the fact that we had a baby and toddler in tow at our table on a weeknight with several adults. Not sure why as they were both well behaved and quiet.

Lindsey R.

Yelp
This review is for the cocktails, although I cannot wait to come back and try the food. We wanted to grab some drinks and stopped here to check out the patio. What a cool little oasis! The cocktails here are phenomenal. Seriously, grade A, 12/10, not your average mixed drinks. The Coconut Basil Mojito tastes like a whole vacation. I seriously think I was transported to the beaches of Puerto Rico (Don for a millisecond on my first sip. If you're more of a beer person and enjoy salt and lime in your Corona, check out the Manorita. My favorite of what I tried was the Peach Pony. The menu gives props to bartenders Kayla and Max for inventing these drinks, so shoutout to them for these amazing concoctions!

Yelp
Came in on a rainy Sunday night. It was a little busy but not packed. There was only 1 server and we were very understanding that she was busy. I was excited to try this place based on Yelp and their menu. We started with the buffalo wings. The wings themselves were great. Tender juicy good. The buffalo sauce on the under hand was super muted in flavor. Which set the tone for the rest of the meal. We got the restoration pizza which was very 1 note. Just richness. It needed some heat. The crust and cheese were pretty good. I got the bacon fry thing and added chicken and extra jalapeño. No aïoli bc they make their own and I can't have raw eggs. So maybe the aioli was the missing piece. But even with extra jalapeño it was so bland. The chicken was dry. I couldn't eat it. So our kind server took it back and asked me if I wanted something else. I saw the crab dip go past a few times so I said crab dip. I was surprised when a crab sandwich came out. But I didn't want to be that asshole so I took it and smiled. I will say it was a good amount of meat in there. But the issue is I'm a Maryland girl. It's a Maryland restaurant. I expected a Old Bay crab cake. Instead I got a crab cake that was very lemon forward and a smooshy bun. So not bad per say but minimal texture and a odd - 1 note - flavor. My spouse got the brisket sandwich. It was a molasses BBQ sauce with a sweet horseradish something or other on it. Not enough kick from the horseradish. So it was sweet on top of sweet. But the bread was great. Over all $80 for a meal that lacked in the flavor aspect. Sadly we will not be back. I really wanted to like it.

Angela F.

Yelp
Service was relatively slow and it was not busy at the time. It took a long time to receive anything we ordered. Several of the people in our party were not happy with their meals. I ordered pumpkin brioche French toast. It seemed as if the brioche was dipped in a batter and then fried, and fried 'hard' as it was very dark in color. There was not a lot of pumpkin flavor to the French toast itself at all. There was a cold 'splat' of pumpkin puree underneath it so I'm assuming that is the pumpkin part.... I will say some people have the Greek fries and they loved those, that was about it.

Michael D.

Yelp
First time here, but won't be the last. On our way to a show in Columbia, and stopped here. Great find! I had the Farm Fuzz beer, and Bird's the Word sandwich. Both were outstanding! Very nice atmosphere and great service as well. Definitely stop if you're anywhere near or even just passing thru. Definitely worth it.

Patapsco M.

Yelp
For quite some time this has been the best food in Old EC in terms of pub fare, and probably beyond that to the best food in town. It's creative and they pay way more attention to their food than most places. Their big salads are terrific. I crave the Thai salad. My wife the bagels and lox. Why doesn't every restaurant do salads like those? Their burgers are good, the fries are crispy and tasty. The bartenders are nice, the selection of beer on tap is unique, and I love the high ceilings upstairs that keep it pretty quiet. They seem to always be busy. It's obvious why.

Marisa E.

Yelp
We came here on a Saturday just before noon. In the downstairs area, it was just us and another family. Unfortunately for us, we sat through our brunch with a crying baby and a toddler that was running around (not the reason for 3 stars) so we could barely hear each other talk. When we saw the menu, we were so excited with the food options as everything sounded delicious. The waiter was great to start and made sure we were good to go. I decided to order the wild hash skillet (presentation looks appetizing but the meat was very tough and dry and the overall dish tasted like there were no seasonings that I ended up pouring ketchup all over it. Maybe it was just the way it was prepared, but I wouldn't order again) and my husband got the brick oven Benedict pizza (the portion was extremely small despite the waiter saying it was enough for leftovers. Truthfully, it was smaller than the size of my hand and lacked flavor). For what we received, I don't think it was worth the price and we were both still hungry afterwards. However, with so many great reviews here and recommendations from coworkers and friends, we will definitely come back to try their dinner menu. Maybe they were just having an off day in the kitchen during lunchtime ‍

Bridgette V.

Yelp
My family, friends and I love manor hill so much. It is right off of Main Street in the cutest location. The servers are always very friendly. They make the delicious pizzas right in a wood stove on the main level. Brunch is delicious - the brunch menu isn't huge but has some really yummy and unique items on it. They have a great beer menu, and their beers are all made at their farm in another part of Ellicott city. They also have some local wines and even local kombucha on the drink menu. This is a great spot for any time of day/year. You can sit on the main level for dinner, book a private event for the second level, or go to the third level for a good bar/happy hour vibe!

Yelp
YELP REVIEW MANOR HILL TAVERN We were a party of eight. Our server was very friendly and offered helpful suggestions. She also accommodated our request for separate checks. Manor Hill Tavern is also participating in this years Restaurant Week in Howard County. One of our ladies was very happy she chose from that menu. Brick Oven pizzas!! Freshly made with generous amts. of toppings and fresh ingredients. We tried their Restoration pizza and the Truffle Shuffle which both oozed with flavorful oils, sauces, cheeses and fresh herbs. The crust was chewy and delicious. We were informed by our server that because the pizzas came from another area of the kitchen, the salads and other meals would come out at different times and some of them did take awhile to arrive. We tried to eat slowly but this is piping hot pizza people! Granted the restaurant did seem extraordinarily busy for a Tuesday which may have been due to restaurant week or maybe some group event? They did have other staff members pitching in to help bring out our meals as soon as they had been prepared. When the salads did finally come, the portions were an eye popping size! They had selected the Southwest salads. So despite some delays, the food was very much enjoyed. They do have a seating area downstairs that can accommodate a couple of larger groups. It may get a bit noisy but we were glad we were able to all sit together. This is Main Street Ellicott City. The location can be a bit tricky to get to, cutting across part of Old Columbia Pike road from the closest public parking lot D. They are also a brewery owned restaurant so the beverage menu offers a wide selection of craft beers, wines, and cocktails with those favorite prices and special offerings during Happy Hour. I think a busy day of shopping the stores and boutiques in this beautiful historic town of Ellicott City is in order just so I can return and enjoy another meal!

Ravon H.

Yelp
Really gives you the historical old town feel. I can't believe that I have never been to Manor Hill tavern before. I have tried some of their crafts beers and different events. On this day I happened to be down I. old Ellicott City for a event but it was postponed due to the weather. Since I was already in the area I decided to stop in to Manor Hill for a bite to eat and something to drink. Parking is tricky. Very little to no parking in the street but there is a large lot across the street from Manor Hill. However the walk is pretty long because to have to go down to the crosswalk. I recommend taking the walk because darting out into traffic is dangerous on the winding road Manor Hill is located on. It wasn't crowded at all and even though I didn't have a reservation I was seated immediately. Waiter was friendly and attentive. I got a personal sized pizza and a beer flight. Food came out quickly. Presentation was wonderful. Everything looked and tasted delicious. Restaurant area was small and cozy . They have a bar area on the opposite side that I would like to come back and check out.

Nicole H.

Yelp
We stopped in here after a day trip to Old Ellicott City. The pizzas were very unique and tasty!

Matt W.

Yelp
We stopped in by chance after finding the joint on Yelp and were pleasantly surprised by not only the restaurant but also the little town it's in. The building is very cool, pizza oven out in the open and the pizza was amazing! I got a firebird (Nashville hot chicken) and my wife got a regular chicken sandwich; we both really enjoyed the meal. My daughter got pepperoni pizza (she eats more than Dave Portnoy) and said it might be the best she's had. The beers were top noth too.

Kyle L.

Yelp
My friend lives near Old Ellicott City and recommended Manor Hill to us. We tried their burger, chicken sandwich, and fried chicken sandwich, all with a side of their old bay fries! Their sandwhiches/burgers were good, but their fries are what stood out the most! I definitely recommend ordering the old bay fries over regular fries (or trying their deluxe fries with bacon and cheese!). Their prices are reasonable, and their restaurant is very nicely decorated. If this place wasn't an hour away from me, I'd be going all the time.

Jung P.

Yelp
We had a dinner for 20 people at the Manor Hill recently and it was great. The service was awesome and the drinks and food were equally great. The first funnel cake and crab dips were a bit hard (funnel cake) but the rest of those orders came out much better. We also enjoyed the wings and many cocktails. The atmosphere was relaxing and everyone had a great time.

Jin P.

Yelp
Overall experience was a bit underwhelming. I'll start off by saying that the service was great. Seated quickly, order taken promptly, and we received our food in a reasonable time. The place has a bit of a rustic ambience with light background music and lots of exposed wood for decor, pretty cool spot in a historic part of town. I ordered wings for the appetizer, and a pizza and chicken sandwich for the main course. The wings were delicious and I definitely recommend it if your table is hungry and needs something to hold them off prior to the main course. The "holy smoke" pizza didn't disappoint. It was flavorful and filling! A good ratio of bread/sauce/toppings. But be aware of the portion size, it's about the size of a large dinner plate. 1 hungry person could eat it all. I ordered the "Bird is the Word" chicken sandwich with a side of fries after seeing some raving reviews about it. It was a huge let down. The presentation (see pic) made it look deliciouss, but upon the first bite, it was clear that the flavor was severely lacking. Wasn't particularly sweet or savory or spicy or crunchy or juicy or anything at all. Just bland. The fries came out cold as well which didn't help it's case. I wanted to continue eating it because my eyes kept telling me it looked amazing but after a few more bites, I stopped. So don't be fooled, it's not worth the $16 dollar price tag. TL:DR - don't get the chicken sandwich. Stick with the pizza and the wings.

Thomas C.

Yelp
Had an appointment in Catonsville and decided to try this for lunch on the way back. Glad we did, it's excellent. Both the beer and the food. I had the Tiki Pizza (basically Hawaiian) and my wife had the "All Mushroom no Steak" (veggie) with Tavern Fries. All very good, but especially the Tavern Fries. Wow. Have 2 or 3 more meals from leftovers. Service was excellent also. Nice environment in a historic tavern building. Wish the seats had cushions, but will definitely be back.

John K.

Yelp
Sunday 11/3. We just gave up. Our drinks took 20 min and the waiter was super snarky. I guess we are going somewhere else for food

Aisyle D.

Yelp
Went here for lunch today. The outdoor seating was nice and shaded, and accommodated dogs. The food unfortunately was not very good at all. They brought it from across the street so it came in a carry out packaging. They only gave us two sets of cutlery even though there was three of us. I ordered a crab cab entree and it was over priced for what I got. The crab cake itself was okay. It was squished and misshaped by the cumber salad container, but was definitely not worth $28. The salad was less than mediocre and three tomatoes that it came with were literally just 3 weirdly cut tomatoes, with no flavor or anything done to prepare them to make it worth the price. My friend ordered a Cesar salad, as you can see in the pic that is not what a Cesar salad looks like at all. It was atrocious. And was also not worth the price she paid. My other friend ordered the mushroom cheesesteak and the horseradish or sauce that they put was overpowering, it was not good at all! We know now to not order food there again, maybe just stick to the drinks.

Sandy N.

Yelp
It was my first time in Ellicott City and stumbled upon Manor Hill Tavern just in time for the Packer Game hehe. This tavern is gigantic but we found a spot on the upper floor which was very lively and crowded. I got a flight of beer and the Maryland State Fair appetizer. I enjoyed my flight maybe a little too much because it gave me a nice buzz. But this appetizer.. so creative and unique. It was funnel cake seasoned with old bay with a crab fondue dip. This is a very generous sized appetizer and should definitely be shared! Definitely check out Manor Hill Tavern in this cute town. The menu looked delicious and will stop by again if given the opportunity!

Yelp
This place normally is excellent but after the experience I had with one of the servers I prefer to go orders. And would appreciate the servers to be trained how to ask a chef the difference in lettuce types. I ordered a chicken sandwich and street fries as always but I wanted to try something different so I asked the server before I ordered the salad if they had iceberg lettuce (because I'm a picky eater and the only lettuce I enjoy are the iceberg lettuce) and if so can they sub the romaine lettuce for iceberg. She said they had it and that I can substitute it. So I proceeded to order one of the salads. About 12 minutes later she brings the salad out and it's romaine. I said to her "Oh I think the chef forgot to substitute the lettuce for iceberg instead of romaine" she then tells me "That is iceberg" I said "No, I eat iceberg lettuce enough to know this is not it, this is romaine." She grabs the oval bowl and says "You don't know what you're talking about" and heads to the back. I tried my best not get upset because perhaps she was having a rough night. But I find that rude and uncalled for if you don't know the difference that's fine but don't insult me. Just find out if you carry it and if not cool.

Yelp
Excellent food, service and overall experience. The lil Havana sandwich was delish! Get the duck fat fries with bacon. So healthy and delish. The smash burger also super yummy. For an app get the Brussel sprouts with bacon. Sooo good. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
My husband and I ate lunch here while strolling around town. We sat at the upstairs bar and received excellent service. Beer was cold and food was tasty.

Yelp
This is a rave review. I've been here before and it was good but tonight was so impressive. We ate out in the beer garden and our waitress must have been the hardest working server in MD. There were some snags and the food came out at different times which was no problem at all since we were relaxing with the view of the river. She was so apologetic, professional. Above and beyond with service. Then there's the food: we split a tavern burger which had thick bacon, and Smokey cheese. It was great! We also split a fungi pizza. Shut up. It was legitimately Italy quality. The crust was perfection. Wood fired. Crisp but chewy and thin but just sturdy enough not to fall apart. It had truffle oil and mushrooms with smoky cheese. Damn good. On top off all of that, the prices are just slightly less than comparable places. I'm a very happy customer.

Yelp
We came here for dinner after going to The Spa at Turf Valley and we were pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. I was trying to find somewhere in old Ellicott City that would have a vegetarian option for me, but also didn't have poor ratings and came across this place. It was so good, we shared the street fries and then I got the Truffle Shuffle pizza and my husband got the Little Havana burger. We both loved our dishes. We actually have another spa appointment next month and I'm thinking we might go here again! There were many dishes that sounded really good and I can't wait to try more of them.

Yelp
Manor Hill is an absolute gem located in Old Ellicott City! The service is always amazing and the servers create a very welcoming environment. It's definitely a little louder of an environment so that's something to keep in mind. I could go on and on about the pizzas, they're definitely something everyone needs to try. It's meant for one person but I always have leftovers so you could definitely share it with someone. The street fries are an absolute must try if you come here. Definitely a fun place to come with friends or for a fun night out!

Yelp
One of my go-to stops in Ellicott City. Fabulous bar atmosphere. TVs for game day. Wonderful beer selection from Manor Hill Brewery. Great cocktail options - always love the house sangria. Fabulous pizzas - the dough is amazing. Check out brunch and happy hour specials. Bird is the word - amazing sandwich. State Fair is not to be missed - funnel cake with crab - wow! Great bar service. Will always come back!

Yelp
Came for lunch and was so pleasantly surprised. I'd qualify it as elevated pub food as everything tastes very fresh and well balanced. The table next to us was having the entree salads and thoroughly enjoying them. We had a cup of delicious and creamy tomato soup (which would be improved if they added a little toast on the side), and then two burgers: the Tavern Burger and the Awesome Smash Burger, along with the Bacon Fat Fries which were very tasty & crispy enhanced by small pieces of bacon. We can't say enough good things about the burgers. Tavern Burger had lovely thick and slightly sweet bacon and the caramelized onion jam/relish was a perfect element to cut through all the richness. The Awesome Smash Burger left my husband in a state of happiness the rest of the day, and vowing to come back again to try the pizzas. Place had a nice relaxed vibe and they are proud of using local ingredients and veggies from their farm.
