Great location, breakfast, and amazing meals. We were spoiled from the moment we entered the residence. Excellent staff. Walkable to the churches, parks and presidential home. Would highly recommend it. I was looking at another stay in May 2024, but unable to determine if the facility remains open. Anyone know?

The excellent experience started already with the booking. I booked via a third party website and immediately after they confirmed and asked if they can assist me with transfer or anything else. I booked a transfer (this was months before my travel). A few days before going there I reminded them and they again immediately replied. ||||The staff for the transfer waited for me at the arrival hall at the airport (despite being early they were there already) and helped me with the luggage. They were very friendly and we had a good conversation. The car was large and comfortable.||||The hotel itself, a former private mansion, is lovely. There is a nice reception area and a lounge on the second floor where tea is served in the afternoon. There is also a lovely garden with terrace and spa. And there is a small breakfast area. All very tastefully decorated.||||The rooms are large and also very nicely decorated. We booked a standard room but got a kind of suite with a nice living area. The room had very high ceiling. It was quiet. There were lots of small details, for example a platter with sweets on the arrival day. And very nice flowers. The bathroom had a lot of amenities.||||Breakfast was great. The choice was not huge but the quality of the products was excellent. In particular i liked the fresh fruit juice (every day another flavor), the fresh fruit platter and the banana cake - to die for! They also prepared eggs any style you like. ||||The staff is very friendly and accommodating, they smile and make conversation with you, very lovely. And they help you whenever you need something.||||Yes the hotel is a bit far from the old town but you can walk within 20 minutes or take a cab (very cheap).||||I must say, i have stayed in more luxurious hotels, but this hotel made me feel so comfortable and i think the value for money is the best ever. So If you like big luxury chains like Ritz Carlton, you might probably not like it here (there is no gym, no pol etc...), but if you like nice boutique hotels you will love it!

This boutique hotel is one of the best stay I had in my life, and I travel frequently! The staff are super friendly and as helpful as you could imagine. Anything they can help you with they will. Great decoration with luxurious and European style in a historic building~ The garden is beautiful and the small restaurant attached is superb! Amazing service for Xmas Eve for us. The room service were so detailed oriented and careful, with a nice touch of fun. Free drinks and dessert at check-in! Great furniture and view of the city. The location is also relatively close to old town and Crystal Palace. Overall amazing stay and highly recommend!!!

If you are staying in Quito, you must stay at Mansion del Angel. This place is amazing. The mansion is beautiful and rooms are large and comfortable. Location is great too -- a 15-minute walk will get you to the city center, But I think the best part of our stay at this lovely hotel, was the staff. For the first time in all my travels, I felt that that the hotel staff treated me like I was family! They anticipated all of our needs and went out of their ways to make our stay enjoyable. They would not only call a taxi for you, they negotiate a good price! If you get a chance to eat at the hotel's restaurant - do it! They prepare the food specially for you, exactly how you like it!||||We loved, loved, loved our stay. Treat yourself and stay at Mansion del Angel.

Without a doubt, this is THE BEST lodging I have ever stayed in in all my travels. The front counter staff Argenis and Sayri were very friendly and they went out of their way to make sure that my 3-night stay at the hotel was the best possible. ||||Size: The size of this hotel is just right, not too small to feel claustrophobic but not too large either to render it unwelcoming, concrete and alien. ||||Deco: The deco of this hotel is very unique, reminiscent of Spanish colonial rule with all its Old World Charms. There is a living/sitting area on the second floor where the complimentary high tea is served at 5 pm. It is decorated with antiques and old photographs which make you feel calm and at ease. ||||Location: this hotel is not located in the historic city centre of Quito, but it is within striking distance. It's a nice walk down to the historic city centre although I try to return by 9 pm as the walk back takes one through relatively deserted streets. If in doubt, hail a taxi! ||||Service: definitely top-notch. This is one of those old-school hotels that holds the staff to high and traditional service standards. ||||Food: the continental breakfast served is generous with its portions and very delicious. I ordered the dinner as well and the standard is definitely above average at affordable prices. ||||In all, if you are looking to book a hotel in the middle of the historic city centre, you might want to give this hotel a shot instead. For less than the price of similar 4 and 5 star hotels in the historic city centre, this hotel boasts a very comfortable and homely vibe, excellent service and overall, a very memorable stay in Quito.

We stayed two nights before and two nights after our Galapagos tour. The hotel has old world charm and elegance, and so relaxing to just sit for afternoon tea. Walking or short cab rides to all the Old City sights. Breakfasts to the sound of birds, dinners by candlelight. We did not bother eating out. Everything served was just special. The best part was the service, felt like honored guests. Our second stay was like coming home. Sorry we had to leave.

Stayed in Quito for 3 nights, one at another hotel and here for the last 2 nights. From the moment we got there until the night we left, it was fabulous!||||Great guest service, by all the employees, always a cheerful smile to comfort you. Andres was awesome to work with, arranging restaurant reservations (last minute on new years eve), helping us with getting around and making us feel at home while we were at the hotel. ||||The hotel is quite ornate, and the room was huge (we got the large suite). Garden in back is a nice getaway. Location is close to Basilica (.3 miles) and most old city locations.||||Overall value here is crazy good, highly recommended.

Arrive to the smell of chocolates and roses and enjoy complementary afternoon tea and a delicious evening dessert of chocolate covered cherries. The hotel dates back to the colonial era as does the furniture (replicas mostly, but a splendid attempt). The staff is also very warm and attentive. The spa was a little laughable so we didn’t use the services, for instance the jacuzzi was simple and *looked* like it was installed in the 80s and wanted $50 per person. It was a very romantic hotel nonetheless though. The only other issue was that I was double charged at checkin, but the problem was immediately rectified.
