The structure is nothing if not imposing, its color and size commanding attention as a striking—and much-loved—piece of architecture. What's the backstory? As befits its slightly macabre outward appearance, the building housed a funeral home before opening as a hotel in 2005, and has been renovated since then. Tell us all about the rooms. I love it here! It feels like home and you experience a true sense of southern hospitality. The hotel itself is stunning and beautifully adorned. Concierge is very accommodating, friendly, and helpful. The room was spacious and beautiful, I could honestly stay in there all day but there is so much to see in the rest of the mansion! I love the evening champagne service and cookies in the lobby- such a nice touch. The food and drinks at the restaurant and bar are both delicious. There is a shuttle bus that takes you to other hotels within the Kessler Collection and will drop you off at the river walk which is super convenient. The driver was also most friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that room service was difficult to reach by phone and slow to arrive. Valet was not present upon arrival and I had to unload my own luggage. The additional fees and room charges are rather high. There was also a visible amount of dust on the furniture in the bar area. Otherwise- this establishment is near perfection and I will continue to visit when in Savannah and recommend to others.

This hotel has been bought out and will close soon for major renovation and become ultra contemporary in style as reported by employees. Morale was low and it seemed rooms weren't being maintained. The attached historic restaurant was closed and boarded up despite the website still advertising it as open. We purchased a package so we could dine there for breakfast and were not notified that the restaurant had closed until we arrived. We were charged our original rate at check out until I expressed my disappointment at paying for something that wasn't even available. At which time they refunded that part of the rate. Why did we have to ask for this? This is an old favorite hotel we've visited often. So it was a very sad and disappointing experience this time around. Lots of construction noise starting early every morning. Had to vacate our room at 8:00 am our first morning (after arriving late the night before) when the fire alarm began blaring. After 25 minutes we were told we could return to our room with no explanation or apology. We felt the hotel had gone from a gracious, well cared for, relaxing destination where all our needs were anticipated to a place where the attitude was basically "who cares".

We had a fantastic time staying here with our college age children. The staff was so helpful with anything we needed. The front desk clerk, Tiara(?), was extremely friendly when we arrived. She assisted us with storing our baggage and making us comfortable in the lounge area until our room was ready. This was really appreciated after a long road trip in! The room and entire building was very clean and all the gym equipment worked! The location of the hotel is perfect, right on the beautiful Forsyth Park and a very short ride to down. Definitely stay here again!

Booked 3 nights for my birthday for my girlfriend and I. Service was immaculate. As soon as I got to my room, they called me on the room phone to make sure I was settling in nice. It was very clean and fancy. Room had plenty of amenities. Bathtub was nice. Swimming pool was nice. The bar was excellent as well. Very nice hotel

So grateful to stay at this hotel. The view from our King room over looking the park was breath-taking and peaceful. Melissa at the front desk, Charlie the Concierge were so kind and helpful. Enjoyed breakfast across the street at the park. Wish the menu was the longer at the Mansion restaurant but the burger was good. Loved the jacuzzi tub in our room, nice, spacious and comfortable room. Look forward to staying here again sometime.

The hotel is nice, friendly service. I love the park is across the street, for a nice early walk or evening stroll. Just be aware this is not an adults only hotel as you will encounter children at the bar and pets. The valet parking staff one guy was upset because we ran out of cash to tip but rather we scanned the QR code to give the tip instead. The restaurant next door is elegant, the food is good quality but a little bit pricey. Overall, we like the stay the walls are paper and you could hear dogs barking, families arguing, and children crying.

Wonderful boutique hotel. They take good care of their guests. Our room was not ready when we checked in, granted we were about an hour early, but they made it right for us. Beautiful architecture throughout the hotel if you're into old world structures -- opulent and quirky but not cheap decor. Beautiful setting across Forsyth Park which I find more favorable than the maddening crowd of riverfront. Our room was clean and well appointed, the gallery is standout. The Bosendorfer Lounge is reminiscent of sultry, Savannah sunsets. Definitely recommended for a romantic getaway.

3.5 stars. While this was a great location with kind and friendly staff it had some negatives. Our refrigerator in room was broke, the room had very dim lighting especially the bathroom. The makeup mirror attached to wall was also very dim so putting on makeup was a challenge. Housekeeping was good but twice my husband had to use the washcloth after me because there was only one replacement. We always lay used towels/cloths in the floor so they’ll know to replenish. The pool is tiny and that area needs some repairs. Tiles were chipped and a statue of a lady on the bench was so dirty. A hose and brush could remedy that easily. The worst, and this is definitely opinion based, was the art throughout the hotel. It was like a horror movie. The paintings weren’t relaxing or beautiful. I will definitely visit Savannah again but stay elsewhere. Front desk staff were great as well as valet. With taxes and hotel fees it was a little over $400/night

Todays experience was based on both my experience and my best friends. The receptionist staff was really sweet upon entering, and thorough. When i got to the changing room, I grabbed the robe and it smelled like mold/mildew ish. When I got back to the locker room and opened what I thought was the right locker, I realized my stuff was gone and I spazzed out a second to realize it was the locker next to it. The SAME key could unlock multiple lockers, so be careful what you bring. When I was brought to the wait room I tried the water and it tasted bad like sink water. Then when I went to the massage room and climbed on the table the linen also smelled like mold and mildew. My masseuse was great, he listened to my needs and went out his way to find a fan for me, which i think cut into my time massage time. He was definitely a 5 as far as pressure and making sure i was comfortable. Taylor I think is his name is the ONLY reason I'm even leaving a 2 star for the OVERALL experience. He truly deserves a 4/5 but everything else is why I'm only leaving a 2. My best friends masseuse on the other hand apparently got a little too close. He ruined her experience and our spa date. I didn't realize how bad until she told me she had to call back and tell them bc she was so unhappy about the experience. They apparently said they would refund the services but acted very nonchalant about it like it has happened before. My friend JUST moved to Savannah and I was trying to take her out and enjoy a spa day after months of being bz and to hear it "ruined her" broke my heart. It makes me feel horrible taking her to what I thought was a very nice hotel and spa to find out she had such a horrific experience.
