Manta Ray Bay Resort & Yap Divers

September 10,2025||I just got back from 2 weeks at Manta Ray Bay Resort in Yap. We went for the underwater photography contest. This was our fourth time there. I cannot say enough wonderful things about it. ||The diving was excellent. The resort is very well run and extremely friendly. We were treated better than any other place has ever treated us, and we have been to some awesome places.||I would highly recommend everything about this resort, from the diving, to the resort, to the spa. I know that in spite of the distance, we will definitely go back. ||Please tell other divers about this wonderful place. |||Sally Bonavito

They charge a lot of money for a room overlooking a parking lot! The hotel's excursions cost too much for what you get. The staff is very friendly, the best part of the hotel. The pool is cute but small (and watch out for that last step!) Friends went on their shark and manta tour, and didn't see any mantas. Not the hotel's fault, but perhaps they should warn people. The fried fish and the fried chicken at the restaurant tasted the same, so don't go looking for great food. I left feeling underwhelmed.

The resort is well located with waterfront rooms. The restaurant is a boat very cool and operates well with a variety of good meals. |The staff are so warm and kind and very polite greeting you everywhere you go. |The rooms are comfortable and clean and well appointed for convenience and comfort. |Bill the owner and his family are all over you looking for ways to entertain you and make your stay as welcoming as possible.

The Manta Ray is a great resort. All staff are gracious and quickly greet you by name. The food was wonderful and my stay was excellent. Highly recommend for travelers in the islands.

Spent a week there during MantaFest 2025. Tho I'm no professional photographer of any kind, the opportunity to chat directly with quite a few extremely good photographers was really helpful to my GoPro filming. Made some new friends I will definitely keep in touch with. Loved diving with Bill: super chill DM and regular dives lasting 80+ minutes. His attitude toward diving and knowledge of everything in Yap is priceless. The overall feeling of the operation is best described as "boutique and family." The flight times are annoying -- blame United for that -- but MRB Resort has adapted and is very flexible. When I wanted to swap a Blackwater dive for a night dive, there was zero problem. All staff do a wonderful job. Awesome pancakes in the AM. Firing the happyhour canon is a riot, but surprisingly loud up close. 😁

excellent concept - hotel, diving and chill out. the founder tried to create something exceptional. and it could have been. unfortunately, as if no one had to take over this dream. diving works great. Unfortunately, the hotel and restaurant did not. They fell asleep in year 2000. The worst was the communication when ordering. Basically just "pay and don't bother with questions and problems". Payment options from the last century. very problematic It cost us $200 unnecessarily. The rooms would need renovation. Fault safe, lock on the door doesnt work. The bed creaked. (Room 208). There were no massages. only the land tour remained from the excursions, nice but overpriced. Restaurant is serving breakfast and diner only fri to sun. The only thing that keeps it afloat is the staff, they are great. Thank you guys, you are great 😘

A wonderful hotel with fantastic attentive staff. Beautiful decor, having meals on a refitted ship adds to the experience. Yap Divers are located inside hotel and they took care of our gear and tanks. Beautiful dive sites, lots of sea life - manta rays, sharks, turtles, and etc. |The trip exceeded our expectations, will definitely come back.

My daughter and I returned to the Manta Ray Bay Resort after staying there almost 20 years ago. We thought our first stay there was wonderful and this second stay was even better. The hotel is well maintained with spacious rooms. The entire hotel staff is friendly, always smiling, pleasant to talk with and ready to do whatever needed to be done to make our stay pleasant. Darlene, the manager, is fantastic! She was very helpful with questions I had before we booked and always ready to assist during our stay. ||Diving was excellent. Seeing the manta rays was incredible. Kudos to our dive team (Irwin, Nico and Awu)! They could not have done more to make our dive experience top notch. Cannot say enough good things about them. ||All in all, our week at the Manta Ray Bay Resort was amazing.
