I’m a big fan of pastel de nata and came here knowing it’s considered one of the best in Porto. It’s definitely good, crispy and fresh, but a bit TOO sweet for my taste. If they toned down the sugar just a little, it would be perfect! 👌🏻 The price is great too, almost like supermarket prices. Compared to other popular spots, it’s much more affordable. Definitely worth trying! 👌🏻

Google
Simply the best pastel de nata in Porto! Manteigaria is a must-stop for anyone who loves this iconic Portuguese treat. The pastel is always served warm, with an ultra-crispy crust and a perfectly creamy filling — authentic and well-balanced in flavor. You can even watch the production happening right there, which makes the experience even more special. Service is fast and friendly. If you’re in Porto, don’t think twice — every bite is worth it!

Google
A new-generation coffee shop with a very modern atmosphere. While the nata is fresh and warm, the sugar level is very high. In the photo, you'll see their own ice tea behind the cold coffee. That one is amazing!

Google
The pasteis de natas are reliably delicious, warm and fresh, not least because of the high turnover... and they're reasonably priced. Therefore, I'd say this is the best place to get them. You'll want to order two at a time. The Americanos are absurdly pretentious and overpriced, and for some bizarre reason must be ordered from a dedicated counter. Espressos-only at the pasteis de nata counter. It's often packed, so finding seating can be an issue sometimes. Just be sociable and share a table. The interior is nice and modern. The transparent bakery is a clever bit of theatre. They have a refreshing, cold, non-alcoholic cocktail 'Capile' which is definitely worth ordering when you don't fancy a hot drink. I also ordered the ginja cherry liqueur, which was a nice novelty but needed to be paired with a capile, IMHO.

Google
Very generous Brunch! So much so that the food hardy fit on the table. It was delicious and the price was very good for what they offered. It would be just perfect if they had brought the food to the table, as we struggled to make it all fit on our own.

Google
This place looked dope and lives up to the hype. Got a stack of Natas on the side where they were making them fresh. They were piping hot. Then went to coffee bar for a couple single origin traditional cafes, the house roast and a organic cafe. Call me crazy but the single origins were good but I kind of like the house blend best! Great spot for a hot nata

Alfredo

Google
Best Pastel de nata I have ever had, creamy and sweet. I visited this place multiple times during my visit in Porto. Reasonably priced as well. I went to other branches, the quality was equally as good. Definitely worth a visit

Gee

Google
The absolute best Pastel de nata I have ever had. This place was recommended to us by a few locals. We got addicted to it that I visited several of their stores during our visit to Porto! Cannot recommend them enough!

Yelp

Yelp
These egg tarts are everywhere in Portugal. Just like how Belgium is known for their waffles. Portugal is known for their egg tarts or also known as pastel de nata. This bakery had the most reviews and the highest reviews among other bakeries that serve the same thing. The difference is that there's always pastries that are being made so you know that whatever is coming out or whatever you're ordering is always going to be fresh and probably sitting there less than only an hour. When you eat these pastries, you'll know exactly why the whole country is known for this. The people there are quick that will get you everything you want very quickly. There isn't really any sitting space but you can stand and eat and have your coffee for a quick snack. There's often a line in front but it does move quickly so definitely wait in it because it's worth it

Yelp
My favorite pastel de nata that we ate in Porto. This location of Manteigaria is combined with a coffee house, so you can watch them make the nata and order it on one side of the shop, and order coffee on the other side. There is some indoor and outdoor seating. We grabbed two nata plus a small coffee for €3.60. Each nata is only €1.30 which is such a steal! The nata was still super warm when we got it. We were planning to eat it later, since we were trying to save stomach space for dinner, but we ate one immediately while it was still warm. It was so good!! My friend and I both agreed this was better than the one we had the previous day from Fabrica de Nata.

Yelp
Lovely Pastel de Nata, just steps from IC Porto, which is why I've been here ~5x times. The first one was super warm/mind blowing. The next couple visits were also quite good. However, for my most recent trip, I specifically asked for a hot/warm one (bc it's makes a HUGE difference) and the worker said they're all warm. I take a bite and it's room temperature... Word of advice - making sure yours is piping hot for maximum flavor/enjoyment.

Yelp
When in Portugal...you must try their famous pastéis de nata. Their flaky crust filled with sweet custard a can't be passed up. I was skeptical at first because the pictures of them just do not do justice to the treat. This brand appears to be a chain and you can find them in other locations. The location I visited is connected to Delta coffee and also located right next to the Bolhão market. There was a small line but it went quickly. The dessert was warm and is recommended eating them right away. They are ok cold but way better warm. The shop has windows into the kitchen allowing you to view the process of making the deliciousness.
google avatar

Michelle L.

Yelp
There are standing counters. There was a line, but it moved fairly quickly. This is one of the top bakeries for the pastel de nata. You can see the workers making it behind glass. It was delicious.
google avatar

Ryan M.

Yelp
This was my favorite of the 3 pastel de nata places I tried in Porto. You really can't go wrong with any of them but somehow this one just had a little more to it. The crust was light buttery and flakey. Maybe it was caramelized a little more than the others. Be sure to add cinnamon and sugar on top. I think I prefer the cinnamon first then the sugar. It was also connected to Delta (the coffee house) which produces good coffee drinks. So it's a great symbiotic relationship.

Yelp
We happened to walk by this shop and decided to try their pastel de nata. This was one of the shops that was supposed to be a top contender, but I had nothing to compare it to since it was my first time having it. It was fun to see the workers making these treats! We ordered one each and sprinkled some cinnamon and powdered sugar on top. She also got a cup of esresso? and I got a nonalcoholic drink that was a bit refreshing. The pastries were really good! I liked the flavor and the crust was crispy. FYI, there is no seating, but a little standing room in the back if you want to enjoy your treats there.

Bruski N.

Yelp
Since I had the best pastel de nata at Pasteis de Belém in Lisbon, Manteigaria in Porto is the closest to it. Their buttery crusts are similar but less crusty and the yolk is slightly sweeter. All they sell are the natas and coffee. They usually have long lines but they move fast since there are no seatings.
google avatar

Sameh A.

Yelp
Hands down the best spot to try pastel de natas , the layers of phyllo dough were crunchy and the custard inside was better than other places we have tried , definitely recommend this spot. There is no place to sit and the standing counters are limited but it's worth it . There is also usually a line to get it but moves quick. The service is quick and their options are limited , try the pastel de natas with some powdered sugar or powder cinnamon
google avatar

Kriti S.

Yelp
The famous pastel de nata has a crispy shell with a sweet, creamy filling. Adding cinnamon on top is a nice contrast to the custard. This place has great reviews for a reason!
google avatar

Alex H.

Yelp
There's a long line for a good reason. Delicious pastis de natas made right in front of you. As others have said, try to get a hot one straight from the oven. Delicious and thankfully the line didn't move too slowly!
google avatar

Caroline Z.

Yelp
Pastel de Nata Omg I sadly was underwhelmed by pasteis de nata when I first arrived in Portugal, finding it a little too sweet for my taste and not that remarkable. But once I tried the famous Manteigaria, I couldn't get enough!! They make their pasteis de nata so perfect, not too sweet, perfectly flaky, and they let you add cinnamon and/or powdered sugar on top!!!! I think I had at least one a day. I even bought some home to share with family and friends!!
google avatar

Andy L.

Yelp
I tried the Pastel de Nata (Portuguese Egg Tart) at Manteigaria in Porto. The egg tarts at this chain were really sweet and custardy. I'd give it 9/10
google avatar

Jasmine L.

Yelp
Amazing spot for coffee and pastel de natas! The line can be long, but it goes by quick! The pastel de natas are extremely warm and flaky, and not too sweet!! The inside is clean with few tables, which are usually full. There's also outdoor seating that was full when we visited. Overall, would highly recommend! It's also close to the big market too!
google avatar

Mark M.

Yelp
The best Pastel de Nata I've had in Porto! Had it with an espresso and it was pure delight. The pastry was hot out of the oven with the caramelized custard on top. Beautiful decor and friendly counter service. This is a must-do in Porto!!!

Nick P.

Yelp
Amazing Pastel De Nata. Better than any other in Portugal so far. Est since 1780 and truly worth every bite.
google avatar

Rachel G.

Yelp
Best pastel de nada I tried while in Portugal! The line moves quick and it only cost €2.60 for a pack of two. They were absolutely delicious, served super warm and topped with cinnamon. The texture is flakey and perfect!! Highly reccomend
google avatar

Shelley D.

Yelp
I didn't get to try this shop in Lisbon, so I'm glad that I tried it in Porto. This was my favorite Pastel de Nata in all of Portugal, and I tried at least 12 different places. It had the perfect amount of sweetness (not to sweet), it was not to pudding like, more custard like, and you could put cinnamon on it to make it perfect.
google avatar

Evangeline L.

Yelp
When visiting Porto, we went to MANY Portuguese tart shops, but this was our favorite! Compared to the others, the crust was really crispy. We even took some home and put it in the fridge, and it still kept crispy!! The custard itself was also smoother and less pasty than other places. Overall, my favorite was watching them make the tarts in front of you! This was the only shop that I found with this, and I took many videos and pictures :). Highly recommend stopping by!
google avatar

Chin T.

Yelp
The server took our order immediately, self seated. The place is very cozy. The Portuguese egg tarts were delicious! Krispy outer shell with warm egg filling with just the right amount of sweetness, would eat more!! Coming back here for desserts!
google avatar

Alyvia P.

Yelp
One of two amazing places to eat nata pastis. Don't wait in the long line for take away, just go to the side. I was not in love with the coffee but the are amazing!
google avatar

Pinhwa S.

Yelp
Freshly baked egg tart, loved the crispy crust. There is usually a line in the morning, but the line moves pretty quickly
google avatar

Richard S.

Yelp
Beautiful shop specializing in making the national pastry of Portugal, pastel de nata. It is an egg custard tart that is rich and flavorful.
google avatar

Slu L.

Yelp
It is good and crispy, not sweet. Compared what I had in Lisbon, I like theirs better.

Michelle W.

Yelp
The best in Portugal. It is perfect to match any cafe. The place is cozy and friendly staff.
google avatar

Stephen C.

Yelp
Just steps from my hotel in Porto, Manteigaria provided the best egg tarts I had during my recent trip to Portugal! (To be sure, I consumed ~20 or so over a 6 day period - is that healthy)? The flavors were rich, smooth and crispy all at the same time, making for the perfect quick but fulfilling breakfast washed down with an espresso. Pasteis de Nata were definitely one of my favorite food items in Portugal, and you know you've found the right spot when it's the only item on the menu. I'd absolutely recommend this spot to anyone in the area!
google avatar

Kelvin L.

Yelp
Just around the corner from Fábrica da Nata is Manteigaria, whom many would suggest is the best Nata you can find in Porto. And boy were they right. The crisp is superb, not too sweet, not too bland. The space was very modern (in fact it's a coffee shop as well). Always an added bonus having powdered sugar and cinnamon available.
google avatar

Liliana W.

Yelp
A friend recommended the store in one of the most popular areas. We bought 1/2 dozen pastéis de nata which were very fresh and delicious. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Lindsay M.

Yelp
Pastries were delicious, but line was very long! Also like the take away options. Would recommend:

Yelp
You heard all the hype about these little custard treats, well in this case. BELIEVE THE HYPE. These things are great. Loved them. Ate them every morning (and some afternoons) on our trip. Are they the friendliest staff in Porto? Why no, but they're good enough, the kinky complaint is the line is very confusing and I didn't want to upset them. Kind of felt like if I didn't do it right, they'd say "no pana de nata for you". Hahah it was all in my head. They were nice and the custard bits of heaven, were just that bites of heaven. Enjoy.
google avatar

Jan T.

Yelp
The absolute best Pastel de Nata; directly across from the newly updated market. A must stop destination in Porto. There's also a location on the Liberdade in Lisbon.
google avatar

Holly P.

Yelp
Love love love!!!! Their Pasteis de Nata are amazing! As someone with a nut allergy, I was happy to find this place since they only make the one dessert (which I was told I had to try when visiting Portugal). I also like that they go out and ring a big cow bell when their are fresh pastries just out of the oven
google avatar

Lexi R.

Yelp
I'm obsessed with Nata! It's a creamy custard tart, easily one of the best custard based desserts I've ever had. And Manteigaria does it justice. It's just 1 euro per Nata. Do yourself a favor and sprinkle some cinnamon for enhanced flavors.

Gabby E.

Yelp
First place I tried pasteis de nata when I got to Portugal. Really yummy custard but a little thin. Also in comparison to other ones I've had I'd give it a 4 star instead of 5. Still really yummy though.

J K.

Yelp
The place was supposed to open at 8, but when we got there the deliveries were still being made and chaotic. I went to order, and the guy at the counter was very rude. We walked out and went to Fabrica Nata next street over, which was so much more pleasant overall.

H T.

Yelp
Wow good pastries and coffee. What more can you ask for. Definitely would come back for some more
google avatar

Alyona G.

Yelp
Amazing pastel de nata and good coffee! Very much recommended for the breakfast! Try it while in Porto :)
google avatar

Yazmin Y.

Yelp
AMAZING! First time in Portugal and this is the go to place to try THE best egg tart! Not only do they keep it clean but they serve you a hot and fresh egg tart once you order it. Literally melts in your mouth! You even get to see how they make it behind the counter'
google avatar

Alison B.

Yelp
Skip the lines in Belem and come here for the best pastel de natas in Lisbon! They also have a location in Porto.

Emily P.

Yelp
Holy cow! The pastel de nata are SO good!!!! Warm and crispy and absolutely delicious. Super cute spot too with lots of seating and what looked to be delicious coffee. Definitely going back.
google avatar

Christine T.

Yelp
The Best pasteleis de nata in Portugal. Have to eat them while it's warm and sprinkle cinnamon. Filling is creamy and sweet enough to contrast the cinnamon. One is not enough. We tried the other two and this is the best.
google avatar

Noyra M.

Yelp
I don't know why anyone would make the wall to Belem just for pasteis de Nata when you have these !! They are delicious and there is a location in Times Up market as well. Can watch the process of them being made and watch them pop directly out of the oven steaming hot. We have gone every day to have some as a treat or with an espresso

マサシ

Yelp
Best place to have a rest for a while. The shop has a eat-in space with many seats. We dropped by here because we felt tired from walking around the city. Their egg tart, nata is amazing. We're really satisfied with nata served with Porto wine, which is stuff's recommendation. Definitely must try!
google avatar

Jeanette L.

Yelp
Let me start by saying their pastel de nata was so good, my friends and I went every day during our time in Porto and even visited their Lisbon location. What I like about this location is the opportunity to watch how the pastel de nata is made throughout the whole process. You can see them make the custard, flatten the crust, place it in the tart mold, pour the custard into each mold, place it in the oven, and watch them transfer the freshly baked tarts into the display. For 1 euro, you can purchase a piece of heaven. The pastel de nata had the perfect consistency in both the custard and crust. I will say that they can be a bit too sweet for some people, but even for the more savory palettes these pastel de natas are definitely worth the trip for.
google avatar

Y C.

Yelp
Best tart I have ever had all over the world. Thin, crispy, and fluffy outside, and rich but not too sweet custard.
google avatar

Paula K.

Yelp
Excellent, the best "pastel de nata" you can find in Porto. Nice environment, easy place to find right in the middle of the commercial area.

Alyse A.

Yelp
The Pastel de natas here are a must have while in Porto! We tried them from a lot of different places but think this one is our favorite!

Huy G.

Yelp
Oh hell YES. My favorite eggtart bakery in Porto, and I've tried many!! Love the clean interior. Customer service is excellent. The eggtarts are made right in front of you. It came out hot, fluffy on outside, and so creamy eggy inside. The coffee here is so good too. I'm addicted to this place!
