Google
Manteigaria Silva is “butter shop” by name, codfish and pig shrine by vibe. A very cute shop to sample the famous Iberian pigs. We stopped in for cheese, got a dissertation on Portugal’s national identity via dried fish and acorn-fed black pigs. Apparently, these pigs are royalty. People speak of their genetics like they’re auditioning for Mensa. I say let the meat lovers worship their salty flesh, I’m just here for the cheese.

Nice old school spot to grab a little lunch around meat and cheese. They also have a ton of alcohol on selection, if you drink. Not a lot of non-alcohol....so bring your own if you're like me and don't drink.

This wonderful Lisbon produce shop has a dizzying array of locally sourced cured meat/ sausages, aged jamon, cheeses, wines and liqeuers. We normally travel with a half empty suitcase which we invariably fill with local foods as gifts for friends and family (and for our own consumption too of course). Manteigaria Silva offered itself as the perfect one stop shop to do just that. The service staff spoke decent English and were very helpful, offering different samples of aged jamon and judging from our responses, offered their thoughtful suggestions. There were a couple of standing tables outside the shop under the awning for customers to tuck into their recent purchases if they so wished. A better option would be to head down to the Time Out Market near the waterfront where MS has a shop. Serving sizes there were generous and perfect for sharing among a small group. Their platter included a fig jam, almonds and a couple of pineapple wedges that truly enhanced the taste of both the jamon and cheese!

Google
The best butchery shop in Lisboa!! I went to try the fabled Jamon Iberico porco 50% and the platter cost was reasonable and worth it at 20€ with Abadia Ginza Liqueur as theicing on top of the cake made it the perfect savoury platter!! One of the best foods ever in Europe 🇪🇺💯

Great spot. The owner is very friendly and helpful. We got one of the best prosciutto kinds here. They have a very cool session of dry fish too.

If you happen to be in Lisbon, Portugal I highly recommend stopping by this market. They have some of the most incredible meats, cheeses, sardine's, wine, ports, and sausage selection I've ever seen. It also happens to be one of the oldest markets in Lisbon everyone is super nice, thet let you try what you want, well maybe not the wine. My love and I got to visit this shop during our food tour of Lisbon it was our 1st stop and definitely my favorite we actually wanted to go back and buy the red wine it was so good. Thanks for the olive oil, Pata Negra cured ham, azeitao cheese. It was all wonderful.

Yelp
An odd place for dry-cured Hams, but they are the king in Lisbon if you have a taste for this style of cured meat. The display is so impressive it reminded me almost of fine wines, with different flavor profiles and vintages. If you are totally lost just ask for a recommendation, I asked for "the best" and ended up with Iberico ham. It's made from pigs that wander in the oak forests and get fat off acorns. If you've had it in Spain before this is slightly different, it's less salty and more red but still has that amazing quality of melting on your tongue without chewing into a buttery, soft texture. Right next store is where they salt-cod. You can see it displayed unlike anything else I saw in Lisbon. If you are going to Time Out Market they have a booth there as well if it's not convenient for you to make it to this busy and crowded part of Lisbon.

Yelp
We ate the Iberian ham here, which was fantastic. As I was here, I learned that the Iberian pigs eat acorns for the last 4 months of their life. The acorns have a certain kind of healthy fat that marbles the meat of the pig, which makes the meat smooth, slightly nutty, and melt-in-your mouth. It was so fascinating to me to learn that.

Yelp
Manteigaria Silva was a stop on our tastings food tour. Lots of options here including ham made from Bisaro pork which was a big hit. We had some tasty São Jorge Cheese (I picked up a wedge of this later) with a quince marmalade that really brought the flavor. A sample of a tawny port wine. And a huge portion of "broa" which is a traditional corn bread. The shop is quite tidy, the prices are very clearly marked, and this is a great spot for provisions to bring back to your Air B&B or hotel room. Yelp
I tried several different places in Lisbon for their egg tarts, but these were definitely my favorite. This place serves them fresh and warm the way in my opinion they should be eaten. It makes such a huge difference! Plus, the prices are cheap. Make sure you try the tarts with cinnamon and sugar. Enjoy!

Yelp
Wow - how could you say no to a delicious plate of thinly sliced meat and decadent cheeses created fresh right in front of you - and a pile of fresh bread on the side! Everything was delicious, the staff was friendly, and for the price the Pata De Negra plate we had was perfect at 16 euros. Try them at the Time Out Market for a trendy atmosphere too.

Yelp
Great jamon selection. Touristy area. Higher prices because of this. Great 40 month iberico though.

Yelp
We came back here 3 times because it was so good. We tried the ham, cheese, corn bread, and wine. All were amazing. Just ask for recommendations.
