Legendary spot same as the friendly owner Andy, known everywhere on the coast. He welcomed me with open arms helped get a surf board for a very fair price and I made some great friends at this place. He chose the volunteers with great care who added to the welcoming vibe! Nice bbq area and two jacquzzis on the property. A great kitchen too with a VERY fair price. The surf spot is 7 minutes walk away! Good vibes

I had heard of the Mantis and Moon, and decided to give it a try. Mid week get away with a few Friends. Bookings went smoothly, called to clarify a few things, there after deposits and further communications all done via email. Before I arrived I had a lady by the name of Kim contact me with regards to food and dinning requests...this was a nice surprise. Thereafter she took care of all our dinning needs Breakfast and Dinner. The food was great , tasty cooked meals the whole time we were there. Just what we needed.. Arriving at the venue not knowing what to expect.... Too find an awesome rustic back packers built into the thick green South African coastal vegetation. You have to go yourself to experience venue, with cabins, Jacuzzis, pool, bar and dinning area intertwined into the nature of it all. Totally unexpected, we were met at the gate by a guy full of energy by the name of kirk . Nickname Captain kirk, a true Host. Helped us unpack our bags, showed us around and to our cabins. Rustic cabins in the thick coastal vegetation, true nature experience. Rooms were neat and simple. After all it is a back packers.. Once settled in, the whole venue and the coastline became our home for a few days. A huge Thank you to all the staff involved in our stay.. Kim the chef lady for her full plates of yummy cooked food. The bar ladies for putting on the party, music requests and the non stop flow of drinks. And Captain kirk ..The Host with the most . Most laughs. Most energy. Most care for all our needs. Good Conversation and tours to the beautiful coast line. Missed the place the moment we drove out, and will definitely be back for more fantastic food, great company and the whole Ocean / Bush vibes..

Experience what Julia Roberts experienced in Eat Pray Love right here in South Africa. But it's better because you can have the whole yoga retreat with Simmi. She teaches you ancient truth's about embracing your womb intelligence. You can heal yourself and others. Simmi is like a real life Guru. She also provides snorkeling and hiking tours and you can learn to surf if you don't know how. You enter a different world when you step over the threshold. I highly recommend this getaway.

We stayed at Mantis and Moon for the first half of our trip, and I can truly say we enjoyed our entire stay. The staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful, we felt right at home. The food was out of this world and I would come back just to have the wraps again! I would honestly and truly recommend this place to anyone looking for a cozy space to unwind.

I have wanted to stay here for the longest time and it was an amazing stay. I loved everything from the relaxed vibe, treehouse accommodation to the friendly service and sense of community. The chef makes the best burgers you will ever eat and prepares everything with attention detail and fresh. It was a truly awesome experience

Chilled relaxing environment to be in with your mates. What really was impressive is the Host known as "Captain" whom was amazing with sorting out anything and everything we needed and requested. Like having your personal butler who's also is the funniest man and will have you in stitches with laughter. My stomach muscles still hurting from his comic personality. Shot Captain you made our time there so much more amazing than we expected

My wife and I love staying at Mantis and Moon every time we visit the South Coast. An amazing jungle oasis, walking distance from a blue flag beach with great surf, and a tide pool for swimming. We loved staying in the en-suite tree house and waking up to the monkeys playing in the trees around us. The staff is great, yummy food, lots of activities to choose from, and there’s a beautiful yoga studio!

Mantis and Moon is an awesome place. The people are lovely and were accommodating with a room change due to my partner's been allergy.
