I had a wonderful stay at this hotel, and I can confidently say it is excellent. The room was very clean, spacious, and very comfortable, with all the amenities I needed. The location was convenient, making it easy to explore nearby attractions. I also appreciated the peaceful atmosphere and high level of cleanliness throughout the property. Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations, and I would gladly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Good location was an easy 15 min walk to the tennis centre for a concert , tram stop just around the corner, room was comfortable, a little dated but doesn’t affect your stay. Breakfast is delivered to your room at 9.30 which was a delicious croissant, yoghurt, spreads, muesli and milk but checkout is 10am so you feel rushed. Staff were friendly. Bottle of Water and chips were complementary with the room . Microwave didn’t work , had a kettle and toaster, decent size fridge. Bathroom good size, shower in tub was small so water went everywhere. Beds were comfortable and rooms were a good size. Stayed on a weekday so noise wasn’t an issue Would definitely stay again

Only thing going for hotel is the location. Reception staff were rude and when asking a question would cut you off. Room smelt like urine. Shower had next to no pressure and was broken when letting reception know they asked us what would you like us to do about it that was for shower and how the room smelt. Mould in the bathroom. Couldn’t use air con or heat system as it made a loud noise constantly. Bath was dirty.

Room size was great for the price paid and the complimentary items and was happy there was a bath. However, I did not enjoy the arrogant manager, the fact you don't get a flat sheet, no extra winter sheet and when asked for one it never came (by this point I couldn't be bothered to follow up), mold on the bath and a cracked toilet seat. Would not stay again. Location wasn't bad either.

The only really positive here is location. Otherwise the room, while spacious, was tired, dated and not very clean. The bathroom tiles need a good scrub to get rid of mould, the toilet leaked onto the floor, and the windows are dirty. |I stayed for 5 nights while attending a nearby conference, and although I asked every day for someone to fix the TV, it remained broken for the entire week. On the upside, the receptionist was friendly and welcoming.

Location is great but everything else is poor. We had a 1 bedroom apartment on the 3rd floor. The windows didn’t close tightly and allowed the cold breeze and all the city noise in. Trying to sleep was terrible. The apartment was not clean and even after reporting to management and requesting a housekeeping service none of the items were fixed. Supplied bedding not up to scratch and the furniture was old and sparse with a tiny tv. Will not be back and if this is the standard Mantra now accept, we will think twice before booking another Mantra apartment

Booked direct with the Accor website. Added a comment that I'd like twin beds if possible or to be contacted if it wasn't. No further communication during the following week. Spoke to reception day of check in regarding arrival time - no mention of an issue. They then called back 2 mins before I arrived to advise that there was no possibility of twin bedding - which was very awkward for travelling with my friend. All two bedroom rooms were fully booked so no possibility of an upgrade. I asked what my options were regarding a discounted rate or any kind of compensation (I would never have booked the room if twin bedding wasn't available). The solution was to *not* charge me an extra $50/night to 'use the sofa bed' in the room - a fee that was never previously mentioned or written on the room description on the website. I was given a single sheet and a pillowcase to make the sofa bed up myself as housekeeping finished at 3pm (we arrived after 6pm). I was repeatedly assured that housekeeping would attend the next day and make up the sofa bed properly for us. After spending a long day exploring Melbourne, we returned to the room around 4pm to find that housekeeping did not service our room at all! I called reception, only to be told abruptly that housekeeping does not come daily and I was supposed to request a service if I wanted one! This tidbit was never relayed to me at any point during the check in process or when reception assured me that housekeeping would make up the sofa bed the following day. I requested an extra blanket and sheet while on the phone and gave the room number. 3 hours later, as I was heading out for dinner I again prompted reception as I hadn't received it. On the final morning, we checked out and left our large suitcases stored, getting a small card for each bag. When returning and handing in the cards, the reception brusquely demanded why we hadn't written anything on the cards we had been given (that clearly had a red number that matched the other half of the card attached to the bags). Again, the number matched and I was never asked to write anything out, but gave my room number when dropping the bags off. The attitude of reception staff was abrupt, borderline rude and their communication was abysmal. The pride they display in their work is lower than the bare minimum and customers appear to be bothersome fools to reception staff. I have stayed in roadside motels to 5 star luxury resorts globally and have never encountered such incompetence, poor attitude and abysmal communication. I will never willingly stay in another Mantra again after this experience.

I DO NOT recommend. They tried to overcharge me for my stay. I had to ask the receptionist to correct the price (I booked months in advance on their website- not an external site). The second bed was not set up- I had to ask 4 different staff members for a spare duvet (so I could set the second bed up). I was told by the first 3 staff members that they do not have a spare one for me (strange statement from a hotel that’s job is to sleep people). The 4th staff member gave me one with no cover. There was sweat stains and a blood stain on it. The Glass top on the desk in the room slid off, narrowly missing my daughter’s feet. So we were unable to also use the desk. Great location- awful experience.
