Having stayed in many Mantra properties across the country, we were expecting a level of quality that was unfortunately lacking during our recent visit. Absolutely NO hot water running out of either of the showers in our 2 bedroom apartment, either on the evening we arrived or the next morning before we left. For the fees charged per night, one would at least expect a warm shower! The bed was comfortable but overall, the property is in need of an upgrade and urgent attention to basic amenities.

We were in the family apartments in the older section. The facilities are very tired and not much care seems to be made in keeping up appearances. We found one dead cockroach in the kitchen and one live one in the bathroom. Some of the kitchenware hadn't been cleaned since the previous guest, the dishwasher didn't work, the TV wouldn't connect to the WiFi, the outdoor spa and pool were not heated. When we spoke with reception we were told that's just how it is, the TVs were too old to connect and the heater just doesn't work. The balcony is facing a building site and was covered in dirt. At least the bedding and towels were clean and the gate remote control worked very well.

Since I stayed here before it was part of Accor group, I assumed it would be as good or better and since I have status with Accor group, I also assumed I would have a good room. I was wrong on all parts. I checked in and the kitchen stove was dirty and remnants of burnt food still in the pan and wet dishes in the cabinet. The furniture is old and worn. The living room has old broken wicker furniture; the main bed has a collapse mattress that is very old style and sits only about 18 inches off the ground. The jacuzzi tub did not work and I reported it only to be told that they don't know how to fix it... The water kettle was rusted inside, and they had to change it. The stove top is so work out it take about ten minutes to warm up enough to cook eggs. My hot water stopped working completely five days before I was departing as I noticed it when I returned in the evening, but the office closed in the evening so, no hot water that day... The next day the hot water worked with even less pressure. Two days before I left the hot water finally worked well. When I checked out, I was told there was a broken pipe in the ground and sand had clogged the pipes... Made me think about how unclean the water was..... Full cleaning service only happens once a week and change of towels mid-week, but no consistency. sometimes they clean sometimes they don't......

The front desk is helpful. However, the apartment has a strange smell, and all the funitures is dirty, with lots of dirt on the walls and sofa. When showering, the water pressure is very low, if two people shower together, it will become smaller and colder. Cannot bear to stay in such a place so I checked out one day early and definitely no refund at all.

We have just arrived and we could not be more disappointed. Our 2 bedroom apartment faces onto the road and a construction site. The front door is dirty with food spillage on it. The tiles throughout are dirty and sticky underfoot. All carpets are stained significantly in large obvious patches. The windows are obscured by road grime and dirt on the outside. The upholstery on the chairs has crusty food chunks on it. The walls are covered with scratches in the plaster and the door handle to the bathroom is broken and does not work. I could go on. It is hard to believe that we booked so far ahead and paid to stay here. The apartment is in dire need of a thorough clean. What a disappointment. We have spoken to the reception staff who were unsurprised at our concerns and told us we were not the first today to raise concerns. While they were friendly they said they were unable to help in any way.

My recent stay in Geraldton was very disappointing as the room was stuffy and had a mouldy smell, it was dark and a lot of areas were mouldy, including the dishwasher, fridge and bathrooms. I was hoping for a nice view of the harbour but we were placed out the back. There was blood on the bed skirt on 1 of the beds, curtains where ripped, marks and walls damaged and everything was run down or broken. If you would like to see some photo's then I have these. The apartment was no where near the standard that I would expect for the ACCOR chain and in particular MANTRA. We paid $300 a night and I was hoping for a really nice stay over Easter for my family. It really ruined a nice stay in Geraldton.

Extremely dissappointed in our last stay at the Mantra in Geraldton. When we got to our room it was clear that someone had forced it open and the door would not close properly, the toilet was constantly running so we went straight back to reception. The receptionist tried to tell us the room had just been cleaned and that the cleaner probably left the door open. I had to refuse to stay in a room that was not lockable before she finally downgraded us to another room. No refund was given! The new room was disgusting, there was hair in the shower and part of a hearing aid on the floor, the dishwasher was rusted beyond use and the toaster only worked on one side, so we literally had to turn the bread over to do the other side before it was edible. In the main bedroom there was a crackling every time we turned the light switch on. The lights dimmed on and off each time, I eventually used my rubber shoe to turn it off and we didn't turn the light on after that.

This place is terrible! Could not even get a good night sleep with constructions upstairs starting at 7:25am for 2 days straight. The shower kept leaking water and the ground is full of water for the two whole days i have stayed. The washing machine smelled moldy and black molds are inside of it. There are small black dust all over one of the beds. And the door is broken and cannot be closed properly unless a strong push. This place has to be closed down for a proper upgrade. For the price i have paid, this is a terrible place to stay. Avoid at all cost.

Yelp
We were so, so disappointed with our stay at The Mantra Geraldton. After a fantastic camping trip up north we were hoping for something tranquil for a relaxing one night stopover as we travelled home Exmouth to Perth. This was not what The Mantra had in store. Noisy neighbours, mosquitos & flies in the room, tired & old facilities. We had a two bedroom apartment which is not the ocean view studio I had thought I'd booked. After a scary encounter with spaced out undesirables on the beach our ground floor, roadside apartment felt unsafe and we were v.happy to leave. For a young, fatigued couple this was not anywhere near the stay we wanted. We won't be back and won't be staying at any Mantras until this disappointing experience is forgotten.
