A place you can go blindly if you are planning a vacation. Expensive but there is value. The first credit goes to the way the place is kept without any plastic and supporting the environment. The next credit definitely to their excellent staff. Specific call out and gratitude to Selvakavi, Kavya, Mathavi and Devika (she is good at selling :-)). Nice to see an excellent gender diversity in the staff, kudos to the management. The restaurant at the breakfast place clearly stands out in ala carte quality. Coming from Bangalore, we.did not.find their dosas and vada on par. Some items are unique and done with very high quality ingredients, most of them from their own farm. There is a restaurant nearer to the river. We returned without eating as it's set .enu is too much for us and also for the lack of lighting in the night. Mornings will be too hot there as no fan and hence lunch may not he comfortable. The tea shop is a nice touch and it serves twice a day. The evening time snacks are add on. Otherwise locally made biscuits are available both times. They had an ancient recipe revived meals. But we have used to Tamil.Nadu food and with poor appetite, it did not attract us. It is over 1500 per person, I guess. The rooms are neatly kept. Large bathroom with open roof area if creating a nice atmosphere there. However, the rooms could have been done with a bit more space. Definitely the wardrobe space is too small and a must improve. The pool ambiance is good but too small for a place of this nature. Also, the deeper area is too narrow.for any serious swimming.

The place is gorgeous and gives out a typical South Indian village vibes. Local flora and fauna add a nice touch to your stay. Peacock spotting was our favourite thing during our stay. The naturist Karthik is a gem. We enjoyed the bird watching session with him. The reception and tea Kadai lady always wore a smile. Although same cannot be said about the restaurant Annapoorni. The service is delayed and disappointing

Stayed 2 nights at CGH Mantra Koodam, Kumbakonam – a truly memorable experience. We stayed in a villa, and the staff were friendly and welcoming, making the property feel just like home. The place is eco-friendly and close to nature. The food was good, and the rooms were very spacious and clean. What I loved the most were the free-roaming peacocks and squirrels – they are fearless and come so close, adding a magical touch to the stay. A unique experience overall, and I would definitely recommend this place when visiting Kumbakonam.

Excellent compound with cottages nestled amongst trees. Well paved paths with lighting make it convenient to walk around. The swimming pool is an elegant touch and is well maintained. Opening hours could be bit earlier to allow guests to have. A morning swim. Food is great with numerous local cuisine choices. Staff are very friendly and efficient. Kudos to the team and the management.

Our one-night, two-day stay at Mantra Koodam was fantastic! The food was great and the scenery was beautiful—a truly tranquil setting. It was amazing to see eight peacocks walking around the property! Highly recommend for a peaceful retreat with wonderful dining.

We recently stayed at Mantra Koodam and it was an absolutely memorable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm smiles and genuine hospitality that set the tone for our stay. The property beautifully blends traditional Tamil architecture with all the modern comforts you could want. Our cottage was lovely, and thoughtfully decorated, with lots of little details connecting us to the heritage of the region. We loved the peaceful atmosphere- no city noises! The food was authentic, fresh, and served with so much care. The staff took the time to explain the local dishes, making every meal feel special. What made our stay truly memorable was the warmth of the entire team. They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and happy throughout.

One of a kind experience. This really the place to experience the authentic chozha culture in a grand eco friendly. The rooms were very comfortable and well designed. The activities around the resort were super fun and the breakfast, lunch and dinner options were out of the world. The tea-kada is a great concept and after drinking coffee here I am unable to enjoy coffee anywhere else. The only feedback point was that they charged my driver for meals which could have been included in the overall price. Kids loved this place and wanted to come back!!

Top class property. We stayed in the Pannaiyar Illam and that it was fantastic is an understatement. The rooms are beautiful and landscape is great. Everything in the room is thoughtful, ethnic and native. Such a nice thing to see when everyone goes western and don’t have a character of their own. The swimming pool amidst mango and neem trees was great and the private pool in the pannaiyar illam was also very serene with peacocks all around. Breakfast is good and their native drink options are great. Aatrupaduthal restaurant with their meat set menu was a total surprise and delight, it was fine dining native to Tamil Nadu - very very rare to find. The only negative is their cleanliness in the SPA - this was absolutely horrendous. The person who looks after this needs to be sent home - you can’t have filthy public toilet-like atmosphere in your SPA. The masseuses were great but the maintenance of the place is bizarre to say the least. If you stay a mile away from the SPA and enjoy the rest of the property it’s wonderful. All staff except the person who maintains cleanliness of the SPA do a wonderful job to make your stay memorable.
