Mantra Lake Tekapo

The property was the size of a house, so there was plenty of room for all of us. Everything was beautiful with a fully equipped kitchen allowing us to prepare meals. Very comfortable. Heated floors in the bathrooms, very luxurious. The only issue I had was that I was travelling with elderly parents and the stairs were a bit of a challenge for them (not that the stairs were challenging but I am finding stairs are an issue for my parents in general and might be for other travelers as well). Take the short walk down to the Lake through the park next to the hotel and enjoy the spectacular views. It was also great to enjoy the hot tub. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Spend 2 nights at the Mantra.|These are 2 story townhouses and set up like you would a home.|We had a 2 bedroom but as we booked a 1 bedroom the other room was locked which wasn't an issue as we were a couple and didn't need it. |It comes with a garage that has a door into the townhouse you can store your car in which is certainly handy for colder days. |Downstairs you have a Dining room, lounge and kitchen area heated with a gas fire and aircon unit that is also heating. Plenty of space even if you were a family. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you need and with a good Four Square in town you could prepare any types of meals you wanted. |Upstairs you had a room with a wall heater, and the bathroom was massive and included underfloor heating. As someone who comes from a Queensland that was certainly appreciated in the cold weather. |It's about a 500-700 Metre Walk to the Church and town but plenty of parking if you wanted to drive in.|Also, the last bonus was a washer and dryer to catch up on holiday washing |I would highly recommend the Mantra

We loved our stay. Only done one night unfortunately & the best thing, it snowed & we got to have a spa while it was snowing. Reception lady, Kerry, was so nice to deal with and very kind. I had left behind something very important to me in our unit & she had it on the courier headed to my home in no time. She’s fantastic!! Our unit was a great layout & clean, only downside is it could do with a refresh on the painting & the glass top coffee table is dangerous , but bathrooms were great & clean. I highly recommend Mantra lake Tekapo for sure! Good value. Thank you ☺️

Stayed just one night check in was easy & friendly we are gold members the welcome drinks have to be collected at another nearby hotel which is a bit odd. The unit was very clean although I did have to empty the clean dishwasher myself. It unit has many heating options although the master bed only had an electric blanket for half the bed haha I also thought there would be cooking stuff like oil & tomato sauce ect no big deal just a heads up. It’s a well equipped unit. In a nice area. I wish there was a bath a robes 🤣🤣

Awesome place... the houses/cottages were very clean, well maintained and well equipped .The kitchen was properly stocked with many appliances, vessels, etc. Staff were super friendly and very helpful. All the shops, restaurants, and other commodity places in the town are very nearby to the cottages. We stayed there for one night and it had great views from the top floor windows. The cottages are itself properly insulated from the cold climate outside, apt for vacations or holidays.

Highly recommend for families or anyone wanting a relaxed, “home-style” stay in stunning Lake Tekapo (we stayed in house 5)! Tips: Speak with reception to organise a cheese platter and wine to be in the room for when you arrive to enjoy by the fire as soon as you check in! The on site spa at night is also actually a great spot for star gazing!

Located in a great spot - very warm and comfortable place to stay - we were lucky enough to see snow! Highly recommend for families - we travelled with my parents and didn’t feel on top of each other. Everyone had enough space.

Family of 4 in a town house for 2 nights, at over $400 a night I would expect better. We did get an upgrade to a 3 bed unit which was lovely, but the cleaners were still in when we arrived at 3:45pm and we couldn't get in until 4:30pm. The kitchen and downstairs were good, a well stocked kitchen and clean and tidy. Upstairs the master bedroom ceiling was gross, lots of dead bugs and cobwebs. The walls were dirty and need a good scrub. The curtain rails were broken in 2 bedrooms and in the lounge one was missing. all the advertised games and puzzles were broken or missing. The kitchen sink had no plug.|Overall needed some TLC and a good deep clean. However the house was warm and cosy and the fire and SKY were appreciated. And the staff were friendly and helpful.
