Mantra Lake Tekapo

The apartment is about a 10-minute walk from the Decapo intercity bus stop, making it a great location for sightseeing. Since it is a private, standalone apartment, it was very quiet and perfect for families. The house has a cozy two-story layout with a warm and comfortable atmosphere. It was great for grocery shopping, cooking our own meals, spending time together, and relaxing. It is also an amazing place for stargazing at night. Most of all, we were truly impressed by the service provided by Mr. P at the hotel reception. He was extremely kind and always happy to help, which made a big difference in our stay. The property was the size of a house, so there was plenty of room for all of us. Everything was beautiful with a fully equipped kitchen allowing us to prepare meals. Very comfortable. Heated floors in the bathrooms, very luxurious. The only issue I had was that I was travelling with elderly parents and the stairs were a bit of a challenge for them (not that the stairs were challenging but I am finding stairs are an issue for my parents in general and might be for other travelers as well). Take the short walk down to the Lake through the park next to the hotel and enjoy the spectacular views. It was also great to enjoy the hot tub. We really enjoyed our stay here.

The accommodation is in a great location, only about a 10-15 minute walk from Tekapo city center or the church. The facilities are very complete, including a full set of kitchen and dining equipment. There's a park right behind the hotel, and you can easily walk out through a side gate to reach the city center. I would definitely stay here again if I had the chance.

Our stay was pleasant, and we enjoyed the big house. The house needs a little update, some furniture and walls need to be painted. The reception person was not very friendly. When asking for an umbrella to walk to the restaurant, he asked if we don't have a car. Instead of welcome drink, we got a bar of chocolate only after reminding him. The other staff was very nice!

The house was very spacious and well-equipped, with the great convenience of a garage with direct access. The area is beautiful and quiet. We had a small issue during our stay, but the Hotel Manager, P.M., was super professional and very kind. Truly appreciated!

We spent 3 nights here in unit 18. Loved it! A really nice, spacious and well appointed, 2-storey unit. Adequate pots, pans and utensils in the kitchen and fast, strong WiFi. A short walk, over the great little footbridge and you're in the little town of Lake Tekapo and the Dark Sky Experience Building. Plenty of eateries and a small, 4 Square supermarket. The brief interactions we had with the staff were friendly and welcoming. There's a central swimming pool in the circular shaped complex of units, but we went brave enough for a dip in November's cool temperature. 😂

Got quite a good deal on my stay. Easy check in tho we arrived after reception hours. Place was not new but it was clean and well maintained. Rooms were very comfortable as well and location was good. Was great that they provide good quality toiletries in the bathroom.

Spend 2 nights at the Mantra.|These are 2 story townhouses and set up like you would a home.|We had a 2 bedroom but as we booked a 1 bedroom the other room was locked which wasn't an issue as we were a couple and didn't need it. |It comes with a garage that has a door into the townhouse you can store your car in which is certainly handy for colder days. |Downstairs you have a Dining room, lounge and kitchen area heated with a gas fire and aircon unit that is also heating. Plenty of space even if you were a family. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you need and with a good Four Square in town you could prepare any types of meals you wanted. |Upstairs you had a room with a wall heater, and the bathroom was massive and included underfloor heating. As someone who comes from a Queensland that was certainly appreciated in the cold weather. |It's about a 500-700 Metre Walk to the Church and town but plenty of parking if you wanted to drive in.|Also, the last bonus was a washer and dryer to catch up on holiday washing |I would highly recommend the Mantra
