Mantra Lake Tekapo

Spacious and premium location, short walk to famous tourist attractions, but the overall quality is very poor. A few lights don’t work, and appliances in aged condition. Report to staff on the first day and was told maintenance team would attend asap but didn’t fix anything during our 4 nights stay. Arrived with a fully loaded unwashed dishwasher.

We stayed here for one night. The house was very clean, clean towels and bed linen. The kitchen is well stocked with electrical appliances for every need. Staff are exceptional, attentive and always willing to help. The location of the houses/apartments is so handy to the town with a 5 minute walk to shops,restaurants and amenities. I would definitely recommend the Mantra Lake Tekapo for a base to explore the local areas.

Friendly helpful staff, easy location, and space was great size for family gathering. Disappointed that several pieces of furniture (beds/ drawers) were broken, and general tidiness of space wasn’t great. Socks / rubbish under furniture, laundry room just had drying racks muddled against wall, blind missing , toys/ games broken in bits in a drawer etc . Talked with management and hopefully sorted for future guests. Would be good to have more updates photos of each space , and what was advertised as rumpus / toy room was concreted floor garage converted. Really could use some affordable minor improvements to make more comfortable and cosy and more like description of rooms.

My husband and I were welcomed with a warm smile and a lovely bottle of wine to celebrate his birthday. The apartment was clean, warm and well equipped. Thanks for your hospitality! We had a blissful stay. Highly recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay at Mantra Lake Tekapo—everything exceeded our expectations. The check-in and check-out process was smooth and easy. We only wish we could have stayed longer! I’d love to come back again in the summer.

Spacious villa with comfortable beds and great bathroom facilities and a nice living/dining area. No coffee plunger or coffee maker of any sort. No tea pot. Great to have a proper oven and hob for cooking but it was all a bit grubby - splatters up the walls, oven needed a clean and pots/pans not very clean. Some general maintenance needs to be done - heater not working, several light bulbs not working, lack of cutlery etc. Not major things but given the price they’re charging these things should be sorted.

I was very unsatisfied with my stay. Upon arrival, I found the main bathroom on the second floor had not been cleaned — there were still traces left in the toilet and a used makeup remover pad left on the tap. One of the bedrooms was a complete mess, full of dust, with the bed unmade and used linen left on it. Although I booked the stay for two people and assumed the hotel intended for us to use only one bedroom, it was very disappointing to find the other rooms and bathrooms left so messy. It made the entire apartment feel uncomfortable and poorly maintained. Even the bedroom we stayed in, despite the bed looking ‘newly’ made, did not feel properly cleaned. Overall, the lack of cleanliness throughout the apartment was extremely disappointing and made for a very uncomfortable stay. I would not recommend this property based on my experience.

We have just returned from a two night stay here in the 3 bedroom unit, and highly recommend! The facilities were fantastic, property was clean and well maintained. The layout really suited our group, we loved the amount of space, and wish we could have stayed longer. Service was faultless. Super impressed.. thank you for having us, we will be back!
