Mantra on Mary Brisbane

I recently stayed at Mantra on Mary and overall, I was very happy with the experience. I chose this accommodation based on its price and location, and it delivered on both fronts. The location is fantastic, just about 50 metres from the new Star Casino, making it perfect for anyone wanting to enjoy the city’s entertainment and nightlife. I’ll admit, I was a little anxious after reading some of the reviews beforehand, but my stay turned out to be much better than expected. The check-in process was quick and seamless, and the staff at reception were polite and helpful. The unit itself was clean and well-presented, with everything in good working order. The mattress was firm, which I personally liked, but I understand that might not suit everyone’s preferences. It’s hard to cater to all tastes when it comes to beds! The only downside was the common area on my level, which had a strong, unpleasant smell. It was clearly coming from the bin chute, and while it didn’t affect my unit, it was a noticeable issue in the shared hallway. Hopefully, the property can address this in the future. Despite that minor issue, the combination of location, price, and overall quality made this a great choice. If you’re looking for budget-friendly accommodation in the heart of Brisbane, I’d recommend giving Mantra on Mary a try.

This motel was a headache to locate, looking nothing like the photos. Parking was another issue—I had to leave my $100,000+ car in a thoroughfare driveway just to access their car park, which is a problem for a large vehicle and a risk in general. Check-in was fine, and the room itself was better equipped than I expected for $269 per night. However, charging $35 extra for parking in an empty lot felt like pure greed. To add to the disappointment, when I called to book directly, I asked if they could do a better rate since Booking.com listed the room at $269 and I know they take a 12% cut. Many places will price match or offer a discount for direct bookings, but this motel wasn’t interested in giving customers a better deal. Now for the problems: Noise: The neighbouring room had a small, yappy dog that barked at every sound. Cleaning Standards: The bathroom wasn't properly cleaned, dust was visible in multiple areas, and the couch looked filthy—probably due for disposal. Room Comfort: No fan in the room, so I had to leave the bedroom door open just to get the aircon to cool properly. The curtain was damaged, letting in light at 5 AM. Shower Issues: The shower head holder was broken, and with the water pressure in this place, it turned into an uncontrollable fire hose. Remote Control: The TV remote was missing its back cover and only worked when it felt like it. The only real positive was the friendly staff, particularly Travis Barnes, who went above and beyond by following up on an invoice issue. Check-out was simple. Not the worst stay, but poor value for money and a lack of customer care means I wouldn’t return unless absolutely necessary. Far too many issues for the price.

Lovely apartment and amazing service at reception. Some of the best front office staff I have dealt with in a long time so quick to help with anything. Perfect location to walk to everything. Really enjoyed our stay and would stay again. Had 3 apartments for a birthday and all were lovely and renovated. Spotlessly clean.

The carpet was visibly dirty and stained, the room key needed to be re cut 4 times to work, there was visible dirt on carpets, floors, surfaces. I would not stay here, parking is a nightmare - in the event that you do book/ secure it you will be met with tenants blocking the driveway/ access/ spaces/ driving dangerously. The staff were very friendly but couldn't do anything regarding the rooms not having having been cleaned. There is no food and construction work is 24/7. This was so bad i have asked it be removed from our corporate travel system. I've never stayed anywhere this dirty, i can now see multiple reviews regarding the need for cleaning to be reviewed - which means it's not been reviewed/ attended to after multiple pieces of feedback.

The room was nice, cozy and pleasant to stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. However, wifi availability bought the experience a couple of notches down. I had to travel up to my room to get the laptop and connect to the internet at ground floor/reception.

It’s a very central hotel. If you walk through the casino you can acces south bank on foot. ||At night you can listen to the intense construction workers and machinery or the police sirens. ||The shower is a high step|up over the bath. |There was mould in my bathroom and shower. ||The carpets are very dirty and stained. Crockery available a hit and miss. Uneven. ||The lift is wonky. Under renovation.

Just a couple of things. The bed was on wheels so it moved everytime you sat on it. And the shower had hot and cold labels but where incorrect hot label was actually cold water and cold labels was hot. Bit of a worry for children. Apart from that that room was clean will stocked of tea and coffee. A bit noisy due to train station being built next door but the sound proofing was excellent. Overall a great place to stay.

Stayed for 7 days transiting to new zealand the apartments hit the spot. Central to everything, rooms 2902 very functional, with great views, amenities perfect, beds comfortably, teli perfect, services were first class nothing was a problem, staff Inc Jennifer, criezella and every other member all perfect
