This cafe is what the name says it is .. a Manufaktur-Cafe, that means everything is made in house and they design "creations". We had three dishes for breakfast, all were perfect and exceeded our expectations.
The poached eggs on toast were exactly right, fluffy outside, runny on the inside, matched perfectly with dark heavy bread.
The pancakes were amazing! I am an American and Im not sure that I have had better pancakes anywhere. The toppings were all made at the Cafe, the salted caramel had real sea salt flakes and the chef didnt allow for the toppings to overwhelm the taste of the pancakes themselves. Highest quality European cooking here.
The coffee was done exactly right and the golden milk (another house creation) was designed like fine dining. The golden milk had three distinct notes, a sharp ginger note, followed by a creamy kurkuma/oat milk body and then a cinnamon aftertaste .. a very well rounded drink creation.
I think that the drink embodies what they are trying to do at this cafe, create a Bohème/homey cafe environment and serve complex and high quality food. At least today, this goal was achieved.
As for the prices, if you just read what I wrote and are really upset by the prices, I cannot save you from how provencial you are. This year I have been at fine cafes in Budapest, Rome and Paris and thankfully for me, the best one that I have been at this year is located 4 minutes from my apartment here in Ulm.
