Mar de Jade was incredible! In December, 2024, i held the Ocean Bliss Yoga Retreat with 13 attendees. Let me just say that the accommodations, the food, the location, the weather, and the yoga space, were all perfect. Even the airport shuttle to and from the resort went super smoothly. The staff is very helpful, friendly, and competent, and the service was amazing throughout our visit. The views were absolutely stunning, and sound of the ocean can be accessed from almost anywhere on the property, which was so soothing and peaceful. It is obvious how much love and care has gone into this special place. Everyone in the retreat group was so impressed with the resort, the excursions, and the yoga! Thank you to all the staff at Mar de Jade, you are wonderful, and i hope to see you again in the near future! Laxmi DeLeo Yoga Retreat Leader

Staying at Mar de Jade was such an awesome experience. I just sank into calmness the second I arrived. Everyone working there was so nice and helpful, with beautiful spirits. The facility is beautiful and made me feel like I fit into the nature of it all. Our room was very nice. They provided amenities, fresh water, kept everything clean. And nothing better than waking up to the sound of the ocean and birds in the morning. Our yoga space was also very beautiful. The food provided was amazing and so delicious. They cooked such amazing variety of wonderful dishes and did a great job of labeling everything to help those with special diets and a variety to accommodate everyone. I cannot say enough great things about Mar de Jade. It was truly magical experience for me. Thank you!

Mar de Jade is a jewel in the middle of lush, tropical trees and gloriously colorful flowers with the waves of the Pacific surging forth and receding in the endless dance of the tides. I loved my garden room and woke to the sound of the waves and birdsong. The food is exceptional - all farm to table with inventive, delicious dishes. I am gluten free and there were so many fabulous choices, all carefully marked. Heaven for me and so healthy. The outdoor covered dining area is a marvelous space to connect with others on our retreat with the ocean as a backdrop. There is even an area by the bar open to dance freely on Salsa night! The staff are superb- professional, kind and attentive. Every spa treatment exceeded my expectations from massage to reflexology to acupuncture. Our dance room overlooked the ocean and our group danced with joy as the ebb and flow of the waves connected us to the rhythm of the universe. Walks along the beach, the burning embers of sunsets, the warmth of community and the stars so close you felt you could touch them all added to the rich experience and I return home uplifted and renewed. I love that Mar de Jade is first rate and yet has a rustic touch that makes authentically Mexican and woven into the landscape. If you are considering a vacation or a retreat here, it’s the perfect spot!

Wonderful place and community! Attended a yoga retreat here and had an amazing week! Loved the people and the food! The family gives so much to the local community which makes it extra special. The sweat lodge was wonderful and the yoga studio facing the ocean waves is unforgettable! Can’t wait to go back!

I’m so grateful to have stumbled upon Mar de Jade for a yoga retreat. Simple yet stunning, perfectly incorporating natural beauty with modern necessities. The beach is excellent for swimming, strolling, and lounging. The food was incredible with lots of fresh and healthy options, much of it grown on their own organic farm. Their involvement in the community, with a trade school and a Montessori school, makes it a very special place where you can feel good about investing your time and money. I will absolutely be back as soon as possible!

I just spent a week at Mar de Jade. From the pick up the airport to the drop off a week later, the service was impeccable. The rooms were comfortable, airy and inviting. The food was varied and delicious. So many choices, such variety - everything fresh, prepared and presented beautifully. The location is breathtakingly beautiful. We spent time in the ocean, the pool, the hot tub, hiked to the caldera, walked to town. I just can't recommend it highly enough.

I spend 4 days at Mar de Jade to get a sense of the place before running my Women's Leadership retreat there in December. It exceeded my expectations at every level. The food was exceptional, the team so warm and service oriented and my ocean front room fabulous. The service and community vision of pioneer founder Dr. Laura is an inspiration. When you stay at Mar de Jade you also help to fund the many outreach programs, schools and an organic farm that employs many young people. I would highly recommend this place as a personal retreat destination or a for a group program. I can't wait to bring my group there at the end of the year!

Mar de Jade is beautiful and tranquil. The food is delicious and healthy with the produce coming from their organic farm, which you can visit. The sound of the waves is the perfect backdrop to the open air dining area. The pools and hot tub are clean and delightful. I tried two spa services; each was superb and well worth the cost. The staff is friendly and helpful—Lali had helped me several times with excursion questions before I even arrived. For a couple vacation or a retreat, Mar de Jade is a slice of heaven.

Yelp
If you are looking for a place to relax and unwind in a blissful setting, look no further. We spent 5 days here with our 6-year-old daughter and all three of us loved every moment. Each member of staff is delightful and helpful and ready to assist in any way possible, from booking transportation from the airport to arranging a nanny (We loved Marina, thank you!). We had booked a two-bed room with ocean view but upon check in found out we had been upgraded to a 2-bedroom suite! WOW! Our room was massive. Upon entry to the room, we entered the secondary sleeping area, with 2 twin beds and a large closet and shelf system. just beyond that was the shower, sink, and toilet area. This area is fully stocked with a variety of soaps and shampoo and conditioner, everything you need is here. Heading through the next door, you enter the main sleeping area with a king bed, a sofa, dressers, a wardrobe and a desk. Every detail has been thought of, from a water dispenser and glasses to a vase of fresh cut flowers. Beyond the sitting area is your private patio, looking out and over Mar de Jade out to the bay. The resort itself is large enough that you don't feel on top of the other guests but not so large that you can't find your way around. The pool area is lovely, we definitely spent some time at the bar drinking the amazing cocktails being created (they also have a great selection of Mexican and imported wine and beer), and the dining room is the perfect place to dine or relax. I was a little worried about the buffet-style food, never-really enjoying them before BUT the food being served at Mar de Jade is top notch. There was a salad or fruit station for each meal and then a different prepared meal each day. There was almost always a vegan or vegetarian option, and they were several GF options as well. We loved Every. Single. Meal. The staff was super accommodating, and often made our daughter molletes, or plain scrambled eggs for breakfast if the days options were too much for her. I will note, that we were there as Hurricane Roslyn was passing by and that combined with the prior storm had washed most of the beachfront away replacing it with rocks, so we were unable to enjoy the private beach but did find time to watch the sunset from the hammock palapa. We walked into Chacala to enjoy the beach and definitely recommend visiting town at least once, even if the beach is back at Mar de Jade. Make time for a spa service too, we had the most amazing massages. Next time we'll check out more of their offerings but the 90 minute massages were perfect for 2 busy parents. All in all, we loved our time at Mar de Jade and can't wait to return!

Yelp
I've visited Mar de Jade many times since 1983. A safe haven far away from the crowds, surrounded by natural beauty, it was a distinguished eco-tourism/health spa center before such places became the go-to destinations for socially conscious travelers. The family-owned retreat is still run by founder Dr. Laura del Valle and her daughter Angelica, who've made a tradition of providing guests with a personalized, custom-coordinated vacation experience. While the food service, accommodations and other amenities are all top-notch, what's really interesting is how party-oriented folks can intermingle alongside the new-age types -- with mutual respect. There's just something about Mar de Jade that exudes love.

Yelp
This special place almost defies description. It is a little slice of heaven, not in that "five star resort" kind of way, but in a much deeper way. Remotely located in Chacala, a tiny town about 90 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta, it is unspoiled by high rises or tourists. I attended a Nia and Yoga retreat there last week and loved the natural beauty of the surroundings, the simple but comfortable rooms, and the fresh, delicious food. A big emphasis is on natural, organic and local -- so much so that Mar de Jade started a 17 acre farm to grow organic produce and give the locals more employment. Laura de Valle, a Mexican-American physician from Chicago, has created a wonderful place that supports the local community and brings restoration and health to visitors. The vast expanse of beach and the town of Chacala is a half-mile walk from the resort, which has a beautiful pool, hot tub and spa on site. Excursions for hiking and snorkeling are available at an extra cost. If you want to get away from it all and feel like you're helping the world become a better place, then this is where to go!

Yelp
I stayed at Mar de Jade during a two-week retreat and had a lovely time. The resort organized transportation to and from the airport which I appreciated. The staff was lovely, the place is beautiful, and the food, THE FOOD, was amazing! Everything is incredibly fresh! The spa was also amazing. I had a 90 min massage with Zonya which left me feeling like I was floating on air. The temazcal was also an amazing experience! If you enjoy sweat lodges I highly recommend the temazcal. I did drop one star because the bed was not comfortable, I had no mattress, just a large foam pad on something firm. Also, my room was directly across the kitchen so between achy muscles and early kitchen deliveries I was not getting much sleep...but the sound of crashing waves made it worth it...

Yelp
I could go on and on and on about this place as my husband and I had a truly magical experience! We stayed here as part of a New Year's Eve meditation retreat organized by Light Watkins and Claire Robbie, two delightful and beautiful human beings. We met new and experienced meditators from all walks of life, people from around the globe and enjoyed incredible food (3 buffet-style meals per day that somehow got better and better as time went on). For example, we had Mahi Mahi that melted in your mouth, fruit crepes, eggs benedict, enchiladas, stuffed peppers, banana bread french toast, shrimp fajitas and the list goes on and on. There was always salad and fresh fruit available...I had beans at every meal (and I don't really care for beans), sauces I never heard of and didn't really know what was in them but was never disappointed and squeezed lime juice over most every dish...sublime!!! AND, all the food comes from their organic farm!!! I would return for the food alone. The magic is the people. The owners are two of the nicest people I ever met. My husband and I had the pleasure of spending some time with them and their extended family members in the hot tub. They live on the property, care for all of their guests, give SO much back to the community and have created a loving welcoming space on the beach that offered us sunset swims, fresh clean air, the beauty of natural surroundings, opportunities for a multitude of excursions or to just sit and enjoy the property in a variety of spaces designed for meditation, yoga or just a gathering of people who enjoy each other's company. This place truly is a hidden treasure!

Yelp
The place is beautiful , not to tell about the view and the comfy rooms , it needs a little more variety in the buffet, the people are friendly , prices are fare, in general there are close to five star
