Mara Intrepids Tented Camp

An unbelievable stay at Mara Intrepids. The camp is beautiful, tents are cozy, staff is incredibly warm and welcoming, and attention to detail at meals, turn down service, and safaris was unmatched. The camp is situated perfectly for daily safaris and just behind the air strip, making the location perfect. There is also a beautiful artisan shop on site. Dominic and Alex were the best safari guides, Joshua was our fabulous waiter, and Reuben, Duncan, Evans, and David took amazing care of us. A true must stay!!

We had an incredible stay at the Mara Intrepids Camp. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The grounds were beautiful and well kept. The staff were so friendly and very helpful. The food was plentiful and delicious. Being able to hear the wild animals at night was a unique experience that can only happen in the heart of the Mara. We would surely stay here again if we ever come back!

Just spent the perfect honeymoon over 3/4 days at Intrepids.||Ezekiel was our driver and you could not ask for better. I do not believe a finer driver of the Land Rover exists. No water too deep, no mud too dense, no angle too steep that he cannot drive it with ease. No one will get you closer to the action, all the while talking you through the lives and facts of the animals. On our first drive we could not believe what we saw, lions feasting, a 800 strong herd of buffalo and so so much more that we were almost worried we had already saw everything. But Ezekiel used all his skills to find us leopard sightings back to back (EXTREMELY rare) including an active hunt as well as a Cheetah sunbathing and lion cubs wrestling. Our whole animal checklist completed in three days with Pumba, Hyena and everything else too.||Trainee Joseph ably assisted him throughout and is a master spotter, sighting animals hiding in the bush from great distances. He will make a great driver once graduated so book|him while you can.||Mark was our resident wildlife expert, giving insightful talks around the campfire each night before dinner on nature as well as sharing his first hand experience of the local Masai culture. He was so knowledgable that we booked in for a walking safari with him where we got up close and personal to the savannah. He walked and talked us through all the flora and fauna and now there is no animal droppings I cannot identify! It was a great opportunity to get out the vehicle and really inspect the environment.||Finally the hospitality was a 5* service that you just wouldn’t expect so far into nature. Shillah and Louisiana greeted us by name every meal, had our usual drink orders ready and we talked through what we had saw that day in exchange for dessert recommendations. Service was always extremely attentive and personal. Geoffrey oversaw and made sure everything was always perfect including on the final night when we saw the whole kitchen staff perform Jambo Bwana with makeshift kitchen utensil instruments - a truly unforgettable experience and rhythm!||But to be honest all staff from porters to gardeners to Reuben doing our wake up call were exceptional - the high level of service meant you could focus 100% on the safari, including seeing hippos, elephants, Vervet monkeys, mongoose and DikDiks from the camp grounds.||Overall a perfect honeymoon stay.||James and Kelsie

The entire stay was incredible. |The staff are friendly and accommodating and the hippos in the river that can be seen from your own tent is incredible and something I will never forget. The grounds are clean and the service provided was exceptional. ||Our driver Dominic had lots of insightful knowledge and made all the game drives excellent.

An Unforgettable Safari Experience||||Our safari experience was absolutely dreamlike. The landscapes, the wildlife, and the thrill of being surrounded by nature were beyond anything I could have imagined. However, what truly made this adventure exceptional were our guides, Samson and Elvis. Their expertise and deep knowledge of the African wilderness elevated the entire experience. Their attention to detail, understanding of the animals, and passion for conservation made each moment even more memorable.||||I can wholeheartedly recommend Samson and Elvis to anyone planning a safari. Their insight and connection with the land and its creatures made the experience not only safe but also profoundly enriching. A big thank you to both of them for making this journey so special and unforgettable!

The best experience of our lives! My wife & I stayed at the Mara Intrepid in the Masai Mara for our honeymoon. From the moment we got picked up from the small runway strip by Simon he straight away made us feel so welcome and that he would be our driver for all the game drives - and we have to say that Simon was the best!!! He was very knowledgeable and any questions he answered in depth and any problems we had he catered for! He knew the park like the back of his hand as we got to see every animal there was to see! He is a real asset to Mara Intrepid and we cannot thank him enough! Not only was Simon fantastic but every single staff member inside the camp were so kind and polite including Metrine & Lousianna - it was refreshing meeting such kind & funny people. The accommodation was equally impressive—our room was spotless, and the thoughtful little touches made it feel luxurious. The morning wake-up coffee and the hot water bottles tucked into the duvet when we returned to our tent in the evening were the perfect details that made us feel completely pampered. Honestly, it didn’t even feel like we were in a tent at all! And all the food that was provided for breakfast, lunch & dinners was very good! If you’re considering a safari i would highly recommend the Mara Intrepid!

The tents were wonderful and how delightful to have coffee delivered every morning! Resident hippos greeted us every morning and we even witnessed them walking past our tent in the river one evening as they were heading out to graze for the night. Sampson was our driver and he was a wealth of knowledge as was Mark who came to speak to us in the gardens about birds, animals, vegetation, and growing up in a Maasai village. Thank you A&K for arranging such a magical trip!

Just returned from a magical safari with Mara Intrepids. The camp is beautiful - we (4) had a beautiful double tent overlooking the river where we could see hippos, baboons and elephants. Reuben brought us fresh coffee and cookies every morning when he woke us for our early morning drives. The rest of the staff, including Daisy, Lucy and Pauline, was equally thoughtful, accommodating, attentive and fun. Our wonderful drivers were Raphael and Simon who were incredibly knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna and got us great views of all of the animals we had hoped to see. Can't imagine a better safari experience!
