The Mara Simba Lodge was a great place to stay and very close to the park for morning and afternoon game drives. Our guide, Benson, was knowledgeable and gave us a great experience! We saw lots of animals including cheetahs, lions and the migration. The food was good with large selection, a well stocked bar and large spaces for drinks and food overlooking the river. The pool was great for relaxing with drinks and cooling off in the heat of the day.

We had a wonderful 4 nights stay in Mara Simba Lodge. The staff is super kind and friendly. Mark handled us from arrival and would make sure everything is okay for us. The rooms are comfortable, the food is fresh and has a good variety. The lodge is also super close to the Maasai Mara Park gate (< 3 min by car) which makes the location perfect to access the park. Also, they take care of lots of animals that are usually within the lodge premises: a crocodile that frequently stays on the river bed of the lodge and they feed it / gazelles / mongooses / birds / monkeys.

First things first: please disregard any reviews mentioning tents—this lodge has no tents. It’s a proper lodge with cabins, and our experience was nothing short of memorable.||🍽️ Food: The food was solid—plenty of variety, served hot, and visually appealing. Considering they cater to guests from all over the world, it’s understandable that not every dish will suit every palate. Dining is outdoors, so yes, you might encounter a few bees or bugs, but that’s nature for you. Let’s be honest: you’re here for the 5-star wildlife, not Michelin-star cuisine.||🏡 Cabins: Not ultra-modern, but clean, cozy, and exactly what we hoped for. I saw some reviews complaining about the beds, but comfort is subjective—I slept like a baby. You can’t expect a custom mattress for every guest, just like any hotel.||⚡ Power Outage: We did lose electricity one night, but the staff handled it beautifully. They came to escort us to the lodge, where guests gathered until power was restored. It was a minor hiccup, managed with professionalism and care.||🌊 The River: When we arrived, the river was barely a trickle. Then came the rain—and suddenly, it transformed into a roaring spectacle with rapids. There is wildlife galore. We spotted crocodiles, hippos, elephants, and countless birds. Nature at its finest.||🙌 Staff: The true highlight. Every single staff member—from reception to security to wait staff—was warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. If you take the time to engage, you’ll find they’re full of knowledge and kindness.||🌍 Final Thoughts: Travel is all about managing expectations. Maybe some travelers just have unrealistic expectations. If you're looking for luxury perfection, you might miss the magic. For us, this was an unforgettable experience—and one we’d gladly repeat.

We had a really nice time at the Mara Simba Lodge. The staff was really nice and helpful and the food was excellent. The lodge was clean and we were really happy with our stay. Also took the opportunity to have a massage and the lady was really good. We did 3 days of Safari with them and our guide, who was a Masai, was the best :) He knew exactly were the animals were and at what time so we saw a lot of animals and experienced the circle of life to its best...from a live killing of a wildebeest by a lion... to cheetahs eating a gazelle.... and vultures eating carcasses...it was amazing!!!! However, the jeep they use is open so no AC so to be considered if you struggle with the heat ! Nonetheless, we went in September and were fine. It was a bit chilly early mornings so the guide provided us with blankets. I had done another Safari in the Masai and Serengeti for 10 days about 10 years ago and I saw more in these 3 days then in my last trip so fully recommend this place :)

We stayed at Mara Simba Lodge, located right on the banks of the Talek River, and really enjoyed our time there. The property is large and beautifully set, with spacious, comfortable rooms. The staff were very kind and welcoming, and the restaurant food was excellent with plenty of vegetarian options. Shoutout to the staff for making our birthday celebration extra special! There’s also a nice bar, and every other evening the lodge hosts traditional performances, which added a special touch to the experience. WiFi was a bit weak in the rooms but worked well in the restaurant and bar area. Since the property is fenced, you don’t need an escort to walk around—though we did spot deer wandering nearby, which was lovely. Overall, a great place to stay when visiting the Masai Mara.

A sympathetically designed and built hotel with separate lodges, set within the amazing Masai Mara Game Reserve. The food was fine, buffet style but good. Rooms clean, well presented and functional. A calm and mostly quiet atmosphere and if, like us, you are lucky enough to sit at the end of the restaurant, overlooking the river, you can see crocodiles and hippos. |Take plenty of mozzy spray, being where it is there is a proliferation of flying, biting insects.|I would recommend this hotel if you are on safari in the Masai Mara.

A quaint cosy lodge nestled in the midst of Masai Mara. We were greeted warmly by the friendly staff. They all spoke good English. We were attended to by Mr. Manoah at the dining area who had us sit by the table facing the river, the view , a different hue of colours as the day passed. The food was delicious and there was a surprising number of Indian dishes , vegetarian, at that to cater for the Indians- the food was absolutely delicious ! The local dishes were good too. The masala tea, was my favorite! I picked up some souvenirs from the gift shop which were reasonably priced.||The sunrise here is amazing! ||At night, we’re were escorted back to our rooms by the staff. ||The staff were always friendly & courteous. A special thank you to Mr. Manoah, staff at the reception, the Cook, and all the staff at the restaurant & bar!

As a Tour operator who organizes multi day trips across East Africa (Fania Adventures Tours) I had an opportunity to Join My group of clients as their tour leader to Mara Simba Lodge for 3 nights. During this time their staff were really supportive, and they ensured that guests enjoyed throughout their stay. ||All my clients were vegetarians and i am blad to say the lodge met their meals' expectations, the chef was flexible to incorporate all requests they had either for breakfast, lunch or dinner. ||I will keep bringing business back to Simba Lodges.
