Staying at Masai Mara Sopa Lodge truly elevated my entire safari experience. The lodge is beautifully set in the middle of the savanna — from the terrace at sunset, you can literally spot giraffes and antelopes passing in the distance. The view alone makes it worth staying here. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and surprisingly cozy for such a remote location. Electricity and hot water are available during specific hours, but that’s completely normal for the area. Waking up at sunrise to pure silence and the sounds of the wild is something I’ll never forget. The staff is warm, attentive, and always ready to help. Even the breakfast boxes they prepare before early-morning safaris are thoughtful and well-prepared. Dinner was much better than I expected — tasty, varied, and fresh. Yes, the road leading to the lodge can be rough, but once you arrive, it’s absolutely worth it. If you want a comfortable, safe, and authentic place to stay inside Masai Mara, I can highly recommend Sopa Lodge.

What an amazing experience! The staff are exceptional, friendly, and courteous who make the experience pleasant. Rooms are clean, spacious, and comfortable, with well-lit areas, mosquito nets, and large beds. There is a turn down service in the evening. The buffet meals were delicious with good variety, and dining staff are helpful and courteous. Amenities: The lodge offers a nice swimming pool with views Atmosphere: The lodge is well-maintained, connected with nature, and has a beautiful design. The staff kept us safe from the wildlife.

We had a lovely 2 night stay at the Masai Mara Sopa Lodge. Our room was one of two separate rooms in a kind of duplex. We could hear some voices from the next room, but it WAS a 13 year old boy, so understandable. ||The room was terrific, though, and a hotel staff member escorted us to our room in the evening. Staff members also handled all of our luggage and made us feel like valued guests. Every staff member we interacted with was great. ||Meals were extensive buffets and the foods were varied and delicious. We saw monkeys and zebras on the grounds of the lodge. The pool and grounds looked wonderful. In the evening there was a video presentation in the main lobby area. There was also a great book store and gift shop just off the lobby.

This hotel could give lessons on how hospitality should be done. We were met with smiles and positivity and a can do attitude throughout. I face some mobility and dietary challenges due to my health but nothing was too much trouble for the staff who tailor-made my stay. We are grateful to Edwin the chef, Paul the head of catering, Felix and Solomon who all made our stay exceptional. Thank you .

Mara Sopa is amazing! The friendliness of the personnel is top of the top! Our waiter Tira was soooo nice and helpful. His service at the restaurant is impeccable. Edward was always at our service at the bar always with a warm word for us and our son. I also had an amazing massage experience. Security guys accompanying us sometimes in the evening were very friendly. All in all, perfect!

Great location in the national park. Feels very isolated and wild. There is some good things about this hotel. The entertainment is a nice touch, the location and vibe. The bad though outweighed the good. Firstly the lack of hot water and electric at times is strange, the lack of WiFi except in reception is a massive downside. You say it’s to encourage interaction amongst guests but when everyone is in the reception area they are all on the phones using the WiFi to catch up with friends and family and NOT interacting. Also the rooms were so loud. Our next door neighbours were talking early in the Morning and we just could not sleep. There should be some kind of soundproofing done to the huts. Also the people chasing you to sign for drinks. Either include drinks on the price or make people pay when ordering, not chase them later after they’ve forgotten about it.

A wow-effect venue in the style, architecture and position facing the Masai Mara National Park. Big and comfortable rooms, varied and rich buffet during meals and also great packed lunch (not to underestimate). Helpful and kind staff. Absolutely recommended!
