Overall, we had a quite nice stay but in total price and value were just not in line. - our AC did not work properly. we had to request maintenance in 6 out of 7 days as it did not cool the room, but just blew air. - The road on the property is steep and the quads rented by nearly everyone in Santa Teresa are very very noisy when going up. This of course cannot be blamed on Maramar, but it was just not pleasant. - We had a lot of big red ants in the kitchen and trust me we stayed in a couple of jungle lodges before where we had less ants. - couch had a lot of stains and did not feel clean. Do not get me wrong, under normal circumstances I would not have a problem, but when paying 190 USD per night I do expect a certain standard that was just not provided in our viewpoint. However, staff on the property (especially cleaning) was very friendly and there were howler monkies and Iguanas on the property, which our son loved a lot.

We lived here for 5 months so I guess we know what we are talking about :D Very beautiful houses with view on the lush jungle, amazing pools, very friendly staff, our owner Marco and the property manager Roxy were super cool, as well as the cleaners and workers. We were very happy being stuck there. Take care!

We had a short, but great stay at Mar a Mar. Definitely pricey but the accommodations were beautiful as was the pool area. The howler monkeys came by for a visit a few times and we got to enjoy them at eye level right off our balcony. Definitely a highlight!

Very soecial and welcoming architecture of the bungalows. Great location! Unfortunately no AC in the kitchen / living room. Pools could be cleaner.

26% grade access road to our condo was an adventure. Our parking spot was also 16% grade falling from driver's side to passenger side which was a new experience. Monkeys were all around but we couldn't tell if they wanted to hang with us or kill us... I can't imagine driving up to the condos in the rainy season, that might be a little more adventurous than most travelers are up for.

Really nicely designed and equipped modern apartments and lush grounds with its own swimming pool and smaller individual pools shared between some of the buildings. Short walk to the paradise that is the beach. Highly recommended
