Marari Villas, Marari, Kerala, India - Explore & Book

"Before falling in love with this beautiful corner of Kerala, Rupert and Olga (an English-Russian couple) searched every inch of southwest India’s golden coast from Mumbai down to Trivandrum. They were looking for their dream beach: a mile or so of pristine white sands, fringed with cool shady coconut groves and more or less empty other than a few local fishermen working the surfy Arabian Sea. And Marari, they discovered, had it all. They currently offer three serviced villas here. The first, Orchid Pool Villa, is a contemporary recreation of an existing thatched bungalow, set beneath the shady palms, within a few minutes' walk of the dreamy beach. The second, Hibiscus Pool Villa, sits alongside Orchid - this they designed and built themselves (Rupert is a trained architect) using the reclaimed framework of a traditional Keralan wooden house. We can't wait to see Frangipani - the third villa - for ourselves. Rupert and Olga's mission is to keep it small but luxurious: with each villa offering a secluded haven - your own living space and your own garden with a pool - which is intimate, close to nature and local culture, and great value. Highs The villas have their own reserved area on Marari beach (300m walk away) All the privacy of a villa, plus room service and a chef to look after you All are homes from home with mod cons, kitchenettes and lots of space Dining by candlelight, on fresh, seasonal Keralan dishes, in your private garden The friendly staff (Olga and Rupert, villa hosts, chefs, housekeepers, and beach attendant) are very much part of the experience Lows Tucked away down narrow back roads, the villas are a little hard to find - an airport pick-up makes it easier Open-to-the-sky bathrooms tend to invite bugs and wildlife - if showering at dusk, use one of the mosquito coils Lunch and dinner aren't included in the rates, but are good value and made just for you!" - Lesley Gillilan

Traveled all the way from Australia to find this beautiful place, heaven on earth. Spent two amazing nights here, and the tranquility and beauty blew us away. Rupert was a fantastic communicator before we arrived, but it was Jibin, our host, who deserves all the praise. He was so professional and kind and informative. Nothing was too much trouble for him. The food was wonderful, with lots of choices. Having a private pool was the highlight. So beautiful and inviting. A short walk to the warm waves of the Arabian Sea was magical. I honestly can’t fault this wonderful place. Will definitely be back!

Jibin deserves so much praise for his amazing care and professionalism. Nothing was too much trouble, and he made our stay flawless. The accommodation is beautiful and serene. The gardens and pool were beautifully kept. A short walk to the ocean! What more could you ask for. Food was delicious and plentiful. Cannot fault this place.

Thank you to the entire team for a wonderful 3 night stay to wrap our 3 weeks in India. Consisting of just 3 villas, and with one under renovation, we 4 had the entire property to ourselves. They're very clean, with lovely pools and a lot of space. The owner and the team are very attentive and polite and we could have stayed longer. There's nothing really to do outside the villas, so take games, friends, and books and chill out with exceptional service, lovely food delivered straight to your villa breakfast lunch and dinner, and any request met. Wifi all good too, and stock up on wine before you arrive, as there's nothing on site, or nearby. So we arrived with a suitcase full of the stuff. It's not 5 star, but the rustic, clean, friendly charm and wildlife noises and smiling faces of the staff make it all worthwhile. Thank you Everyone.

We have just had a five night stay at Marari Villas. The Indian people have been the stars of our Indian adventure. George, Jibin, Benjamin, and the ladies who looked after us in Marari Villas were no exception. We were treated to exceptional service, food and friendliness during our stay. The deserted beach was a short walk away and the Marari sun beds and umbrellas provided by Benjamin were the envy of the few walkers who passed by. This was an ideal hideaway to rest for a few days after a hectic three weeks in India.🇮🇳🙏

Just returned from a very relaxing 3 days after a full on trip of Northern India. As soon as we arrived (in the car arranged by the villa from the airport) Rupert (owner) and Jibin (villa host) made us feel at home. We stayed at Hibiscus villa. All our food was served in our secluded garden and was very tasty, freshly made and evening menu choices changed every day. The beach is 300m walk via a wooded path and Mr Benjamin was always on hand to put our sunbeds/parasol on a peaceful and empty beach. Would 100% recommend.

Fabulous oasis by the sea. Tucked away in Mararikulam a short stroll from marari beach with its endless clean sands and warm ocean, marari villas is just perfect. Serviced villas so staff on hand from morning to evening to clean, garden, sort trips, maintain the pool. Nothing here not to like other than mosquitoes which the staff keep at bay with fans and insence sticks. ||The staff are wonderfully friendly and discreetly attentive. So peace and quiet is assured. The food is just amazing, the chef adjusts the local Indian food for our pallettes so it really can be enjoyed, not just eaten.||Transfers to and from the airport with Manoj smooth , prompt and comfortable. The beach is amazing and loungers and shade provided for your comfort. Had some lovely beach walks totally unhastled.||Great wifi, a fridge for cool drinks and a kettle for hot was very welcome. An enclosed outside shower was nice, a small wait for hot water but we soon worked that out.||Big thanks must go to the staff, Jibin our wait or,personall shopper and Mr fix it, such a nice lad, always smiling and has a desire to make your experiencewhat you want it to be. George the manager again on hand to help and assist has a wealth of experience in hospitality and it shows. Chef a true genius in the kitchen. The ladies for gardening and cleaning again wonderfully smiley. ||You feel at home here. ||Do try the local food chef prepares especially the kerala banquet. ||To the team we say "nanni"

If you are looking for a private and personalized luxury stay, then this is it.  We loved the villa, the food, the staff. The place has only 3 villas and is very boutique.  Owned by a foreigner couple, Marari villa is perfectly designed for privacy and peace of mind.  Just 300mts from the beach, this villa is a hidden gem. We stayed in Firangipani villa, and it was outstanding. They helped arrange cabs,  local sightseeing, and also massage as per our preference. I am not someone who likes to stay in large hotels,  so this was a good find to enjoy a quiet luxury long weekend.

This is a small boutique property with only two villas operational at the time of our visit. We stayed in Frangipani villa where we appreciated the heritage furnishings, the open-air tropical courtyard shower, the large private garden and decent-sized private pool. The beach is beautiful, palm-fringed white sand. It's a short, shady stroll away and staff will set up bean bags and umbrellas if you want, but during the intense heat of the day we preferred to relax at our beautiful villa and pool. At sunset we went walking on the beach. It is a working beach, and it was interesting to watch the fishermen drawing in their catch, and the local boys playing soccer. The staff were incredibly attentive to our needs, and the food (served in the villa's garden) was fabulous. We arrived several hours earlier than expected, but the staff made us feel welcome and had the villa ready for us within half an hour. The quality of the villa, the privacy and the high level of personal service made this more than a 5 star experience for us. Three nights here was a very relaxing way to end our busy trip, but next time I would want to stay longer!
