Yelp
Horribly, unacceptably ableist and rude staff. We contacted them four months ago about needing an accessible room with no stairs, and when we got here, the room we had been given was down a flight of stairs, the shared toilet was up three flights from there, and the shower was up two. When I asked about the accessibility, the manager, Nessie, said, "it's RIGHT there." Totally invalidating of my disability. We later went to talk to him again, only to have a nearly hour long argument with him. Ended up being able to switch our room to one of the ground floor, but he insisted it was an upgrade and we would have to pay extra, taking no blame for the hotel's mistake. We asked to speak with his boss, only for him to argue further about not being allowing us, only being able to email and wait for a reply. He finally called after arguing for a while with him. Absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional business practices. He, also, kept interrupting and speaking over us.
When we returned to the hotel later in the day to retrieve our luggage, the manager, Nessie, again started arguing with us!!! He insisted that they were accommodating, despite the insane amount of pushback, heated argument, and ill mannered business practices. He insisted that I leave them a good review and delete this one, saying that, "a negative review will impact them negatively." -- as if I could ever think of this place in a positive light! I told him that if my review could deter the same kind of treatment towards other disabled people, then I would write as much as I could. We eventually had to just walk out since he would not stop and began to raise his voice slightly.
