I’ve visited this place many times throughout the years, and it’s always been absolutely delicious. The ice cream is always so sweet and perfect and the wide variety of topping choices only make it better! Especially love the birthday cake flavor. I always get the kids size because it’s more than enough for one person already! One small comment is the contamination - using the same scoops for different ice cream flavors and toppings could be a danger to someone with allergies! I’m happy to eat here but someone with but allergies like my sister might want to reconsider.

Been here 3 times already this week. So far my favorite is the cotton candy shake. The strawberry shake was actually pretty good as well. The peanut butter paradise was good but it was too much for me. Shakes are the best in taste so far. And prices are set nicely not super expensive

Delicious ice cream and professional employees. Watch out tho, the strawberry shake is addicting! Actually everything there is addictive. Thank God I live far, i wouldn’t imagine myself living near such a place! 😅Had a great time with the kids and the wife.

I’ve been to this location on several occasions in the past and I’ve had pretty positive experiences on all of them. The most recent visit, however, I left very disappointed. I’ve ordered premade ice cream cakes from them before and they were all fine. This time, I wanted to customize my own cake for a family member’s birthday. I didn’t request a lot on the cake so I understand it coming out a bit on the plain side. Upon picking up my cake at the store the day it was ready, I was told from the employee who handed me the cake that one of the toppings I requested, had ran out. It would have been nice if they had called to inform me and asked if I wanted to substitute it with something else. I ended up going home and had to rummage through my cabinets to find things to decorate the cake myself to make it look less plain. Also, this is not big - I had made a note to add a (!) at the end of happy birthday but it was missing. I should’ve checked the cake more closely while I was at the store but I was in a rush.

Overall a very good experience. We picked cotton candy with sprinkles. The ice cream itself was delicious; the cone was thick and not as crispy as I thought. The staff was polite.

Delicious!! The strawberry ice cream was soooo fresh and didn't taste full of preservatives. Customer service was excellent 👌 will definitely return for more ice cream or to get one of their cakes. It's a pick your own topping type of place.

If you’re at the Rockville Town Center and looking for a cheaper dessert place with quality ice cream and a ton of add ins, then look no further. This place has a delicious in-house ice cream experience with tons of add ins for cheap prices. I got a small (which was honestly pretty big compared to other smalls I have seen) signature mix for only about $5! For all the sizes you get, you get unlimited add ins or a choice of a signature with suggested toppings already mixed in. They also provide smoothies, shakes, cakes, and pints to take home as well!

This is my favorite ice cream place around. With revolving ice cream flavors for different seasons and choices of sweet toppings. This is a cold stone style ice cream place. They sell ice cream cakes here too and dessert pizzas.

My youngest (10) and I were out and about and decided to try Marble Slab for a sweet treat. They had a nice amount of flavor + a number of unique ones that we had never seen before. They also had a good amount of topping options. My daughter got Cotton Candy ice cream (one of those unique flavors) and I got a banana toffee milk shake. I had a little taste of the Cotton Candy which I thought was going to be gross but I was pleasantly surprised that it was good. My milkshake was great. The service was great as they let us try a few flavors before settling on what we wanted. The shop was a decent size with about 7 tables inside but the interior could use a little freshening up. Overall a good expereince. Not a spot I would go out of the way for but worth stopping in if you are in the Rockville Town Center area.

More than decent ice cream shop in Rockville Town Square. The ice cream cones/cups include free mix-ins of your choice and they also make shakes and have pre-prepared ice cream cakes. The ice cream is good (not the best/creamiest I've had), but there is a nice variety of mix-ins. The portion size is good. My partner got a small cup and I got a medium cup for less than a dollar more, and we each were more than satisfied. The young staff working there are efficient and helpful. Some seating inside and also outside the shop. The inside seemed a bit dark when we were there last evening, to the point of feeling uninviting. Recommend you come on a nice day/evening and enjoy your ice cream cone/cup hanging outside at the Town Square.

A pretty great dessert joint! If you're ever around the area and are in the mood for something sweet and enjoyable, check this place out! Prices are OK, but taste and quality makes up for it! Good customer service and ample amount of choices. Liked it very much!!! Been to this place multiple times and never disappoints!

Marble Slab continues to be a sweet spot in the Rockville Town Square community. Good prices and specials. Good flavors and options. Good service and staffing. This is just an all around worthy place. Highly recommend.

6/20/23- This place is very similar to cold stone but they didn't have any premium handmade flavors that were available. I wanted premium cookies n cream ice cream but instead got a large cup of vanilla ice cream with oreo pieces ($6.59) that was made by the employee. The ice cream was decent but nothing crazy and I didn't like how they didn't have any premium handmade ice cream flavors to see and try.

The girls here stare at you when you enter but don't say anything. Then all three stand in front of you The Whole time while you look for what you want but don't offer any assistance. They're very weird. This shop has very ugly energy. The ice cream may be good (Wouldn't know, we walked out) but the service is terrible. I wouldn't want anything from people who have such tragic customer service and energy. Terrible experience as a first timer excited to try a new spot. Don't go here. Wouldn't even give them one star if I didn't have to to post this review.

This reminds me of a cold stone. Nothing special. Tried the pistachio & it's average at best.

My first time at marble slab and the employee was very helpful and patient while allowing me to sample the different flavors. I elected to get a regular size strawberry and birthday cake mix with sprinkles in a waffle cone. The ice cream was delicious! The waffle cone was fresh and not hard! Overall great place for a sweet treat at a reasonable price $6.

The mint ice cream was THE BEST! I love the decor and how peaceful it was! And I love how the worker makes the ice cream! 5 STARS!!'

Hidden in this relatively tame plaza, I happened upon this spot. All the words intrigued me - 'marble slab' and 'creamery'. That was all I needed to develop a craving for some good ice cream. Upon entering, it was relatively busy but the staff had things down to a science. They operated in tandem so well with each other, keeping the customers moving and out the door. The staff was very friendly and efficient. I opted for a shake: Ice Cream - Coffee & Dark Chocolate. Added Flavorings: Oreos & Caramel drizzle. Yummmmmmmm-o!!!! This shake was absolutely delicious. If I'm ever on this side of town again, THIS is my 'go to' location for ice cream.

I wish they had these places where I live. I would come here every Friday just to kick off the weekend celebrations! Customer service is great and workers are very friendly and happy to help. You can ask for samples without people giving an attitude like other places I've been. The flavors are delicious and the toppings make it extra yummylicious. The place is very clean and rarely do you ever see it dirty. There's places to sit and they also have a rewards system for freebies. Highly recommend it for any fellow ice cream lovers!

Delicious Ice Cream! Visited first time (9/15/18) w/friend. Forget the review-here it is... This little gem is located in Rockville Town Center. (Gibbs St.) Small shop w/some seating. Fresh ice cream & frozen desserts made daily. Extensive menu of flavors, sundaes & shakes. We ordered "Sweet Cream & Coffee" ice cream. Fresh ingredients: cream, vanilla, coffee flavor w/every spoonful. Yes the Whipped Cream Too! (See Photo) Great customer service even during a busy a Saturday night.

Under no circumstances go to this place if you're only looking for ice cream without the additions. I mentioned sweet cream at one point but settled on a regular cup with peanut butter and butter pecan. I started out on scoop number one and was convinced that the lady had given me sweet cream. No biggie. But then as I finished the first scoop there was no difference in the flavor or look. Back I went to have this rectified to which the lady assured me I had the right flavors. I asked if she could just try again but give me a small cup. Again there was next to no discernible different in flavors. I am convinced she actually did give me peanut butter and butter pecan but such is the travesty of the ice cream I couldn't tell the difference.

Shared a banana split with vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry ice creams at Marble Slab and was fortunate enough to enjoy outdoors at night with some warm evening temperatures. The ice cream was good - not the best you'll ever have but definitely reasonably priced compared to some of the shops in the area. It's a convenient place to grab a treat if you're in Rockville Town Square and I'm sure we'll be back sometime soon. The ice cream cakes in the freezer looked good and reasonably priced as well. We may have to try one for a birthday,

Great creamery. Many choices and good customer service. We take our grandchildren there frequently and they always enjoy their ice cream. Recently I purchased an ice cream cake and the decorations were perfect as well as the flavors.

We walked in and saw the torn up seating and dirty tables. We walked out without ordering anything. Please see picture.

To the owners of this Marble Slab Creamery I highly suggest you enroll your employees in some sensitivity training. I came in on Friday, Sept 24 and because your website was not working I asked if they had a nutritional information menu as my niece who is diabetic was hoping to get a reward after diligently following her diet guidelines all week and an amazing week at school. Not only did they not have one available, but the girls on duty seemed annoyed by my request as though asking for the nutritional information at an ice cream shop was unreasonable. In addition they seemed annoyed by having to do their job... I get that it was close to closing on a Friday, but after their annoyance over my simple request it was too much.

Raspberry sorbet, mango sorbet, side by side, add shredded coconut. Dairy-free, but so damn satisfying. The cakes are so yum, and the service is good. Tip if you can. Appreciate getting exactly what you order each time..

This was a nice experience. The ice cream was delicious and so were the shakes. The whole fam is into this place!!! They also take the time to get ice cream from the back because of my son's allergies and we really appreciate that!

We decided to come and stop by after lunch, glad we did. This was a great treat. I love how you can get as many ingredients added as you like. I would recommend this location to all very friendly and helpful staff.

Just trust me and get the cotton candy and breakfast cereal flavors mashed with a crunchy topping of your choice, you can thank me later. Service is good here, and they have a nice selection of flavors and toppings. Oft visited spot for us when we are strolling down the square. Oh, their ice cream cakes are good, too. Got a birthday ice cream cake from here and it was a big hit.

This place is DELICIOUS Such high quality icecream with free mix-ins as long as it fits in the size you bought (which it will as long as you don't pick like 3+ mix-ins). Cheesecake is the best flavor! Not too sweet with the perfect light tangyness. The service is good. Everyone works fast and does their best to service you efficiently. Atmosphere is quiet. Usually it isn't too busy and you can sit here and it will be empty.

I wanted to follow up on a negative review I wrote about the marble slab creamery in Rockville Town Center. I had complained about the horrible smoothie that I ordered that was inedible. I called the manager , Tony who was great. I explained to him what happened and he profusely apologized. No. It is not their policy to not refund money for unhappy customers. Whew! He offered a comp cone. But that is not what I was looking for.. Just wanted him to be aware. The problem is that when your business is run by 17 year olds, you will get these type of interactions. I appreciated Tony's help on this one.

Friendly, fresh, delicious, and clean. We ordered the regular and it was a good size. The ice cream was a meal itself which made us wanted to go to sleep afterwards (ice cream coma). Yum

Visiting Maryland and craving a sweet treat. After looking through all my recommendations (in yelp of course), I saw Marble slab creamery. Just like a cool looking wine bottle I took that idea and went to try it out. This store is located in a beautiful area. There's a skating rink across from it, and lots of seating area outside. Great place for a fun date if you ask me. Walking in to MSC, right away, it's bright and colorful. T.V. screen shows you the menu in great detail. I decided to order my own creation. I ordered French vanilla shake with butterfinger and Oreo's. Don't knock it till you try it. It was super good! The blender chopped every ingredient up perfectly and was easy to drink. I honestly enjoyed my experience in the plaza and loved my shake. I recommend it to all.

Order an ice cream birthday cake for my husband. Cookie Jar Chaos! Don't have proper words to describe how delicious it is ! Medium size only costs 36.95 bucks. Can serve 5-6 people! Staff is really nice and patient !

Came here for the first time yesterday and I am really impressed with all of the flavors they have you can add as many mix-in as you want free of charge.

Meh. Marble Slab = Cold Stone Creamery wannabe, that's for sure. $4.00 for a kiddie cup with 2 flavors & 1 topping. $$$$$, in my opinion. Better than Giffords but reminds me of a typical ice cream chain. Definitely prefer the real stuff... hand dipped, super thick, homemade style ice cream. Also, the bathroom stunk & there were no paper towels.. staff needs to step it up.. it was noon on a Friday & no one was there except me... not acceptable, people!!!

Finally gave in and went to Marble Slab. I knew it was going to be expensive... Got a small for $4.97, it was butter pecan with almond bits. For that price the Marble Slab should really offer more than just one topping... The staff was nice, but I expected a bit more customer service since we were the only customers in the store. They didn't offer samples or even smile. I guess that's what I should expect from teenage girls. The store was neat and clean. I also liked how the marble slab they mix on was clean. Coldstone's is usually gross. Probably will not be back just becuase I was not impressed by anything other then the clean marble slab...

I just want to commend this store and Tony, I think he is the manager/owner of the shop. I ordered through Uber and when I received a wrong order, uber didn't even refund me the right amount. But when I called Tony directly from Marble Slab, he offered to give me what was missing from my order and gave me extra. I love their ice cream that I want to support them especially right now with this pandemic with covid19. I pray that they will not close and that God will provide their needs for rent. God bless!!!

I don't know what the hype is about, but there really isn't anything special about this place other than the fact that it's just another place to satisfy your sweet tooth at Rockville Town Center. My friend and I dropped by after having something light at Lebanese Taverna straight across the way. I got a cup of their blue cotton candy and their cool mint ice creams, each having unique flavors and visually appealing colors. I must admit, the ice cream was a pretty nice treat after having a light dinner. One issue I had here, however, was that I felt like the ice cream was a little overpriced. The small cup with just plain ice cream was almost close to $5 for basically a scoop and a half of ice cream (the scoop is not really even considered "big"). It's not really worth the value, in my opinion. The employees working here could also use a little work on their customer service. Being served ice cream with a nasty attitude and a hands-off approach to the work environment is not the ideal situation. I'm not sure if audible sighs and rolling eyes would be the best way to deal with customers face-to-face, but that's pretty much what happened here. For a place that sells sweets, it was ruined with a couple of sour attitudes. At least the ice cream wasn't bad...

Stopped by on a hot summer night. No better way to end the day! Both my sis and I got cotton candy and it was so good. They had a good variety of flavors and I really love how it's like Coldstone where you can have mix ins. I think this place might be better though

This was the perfect after dinner treat. I got the banana creme mixed with butter pecan mashed with co but flakes and crushed almonds and it was delicious and light. I haven't had mashed ice cream in so long so it was also a bit nostalgic. My brother got the cake batter with chocolate bits. We both got the kids size. It was definitely the right amount. Would definitely come again and it isn't too pricey. :)

My mediocre review is based on customer service and the shakes they make here. They definitely have a variety of ice-creams and I am sure they are delicious. But I didn't try the ice-creams. My husband ordered a 'Vanilla Smoothie'. As he was drinking it, it tasted like pineapple. I tasted it and definitely did not taste anything like vanilla. When I asked the lady, she said "We make all our smoothies with Orange Juice". Really?? What's the point of having a vanilla shake/smoothie if you are going to mix orange juice with it. It obviously won't taste like vanilla, will it? She knew my husband was not happy, but she didn't even bother asking us if we want something else instead. My husband was nice and didn't want to return it. But as soon as we came out, he had a few more sips and threw the smoothie. $5.88 was definitely not worth the smoothie and the lack of customer service at this place. Go there for ice-creams, but unless you are fine with having orange juice in your vanilla/chocolate smoothies, I would stay away. I was so turned off by the lack of customer service, that I will probably not return. I prefer places where they make sure the customer is satisfied in the end. In this day and age, when there is no shortage of ice-cream parlors, I would hope that businesses would care about customers coming back and spreading the word about their business.

The small and regular size have the same weight. They charge 4.89 for two scoop and 5.79 for three scoop. Get the small one and save money. The manager does not care.

This is a poor man's Cold Stone. Same concept, most of the same flavors, very similar decor, etc. Except it doesn't have Cold Stone quality. I can't exactly describe the way this stuff tastes. It's not bad, but it's almost as if they froze the ice cream for a few days, thawed it, and then used it. It has that slightly freezer burned but still not terrible taste. Anyway, they will shove just about anything you want into your ice cream - tons of candies, brownies, fudge and caramel sauces, sprinkles, etc. If you're in the Town Square and have an ice cream craving, this is your best bet. But if you have a car, there is much fresher tasting ice cream down the road at York Castle.

I never liked Gifford's Ice Cream- and I'm really glad there is another alternative to Fro Yo at the Town Center now. It's a shame they don't have more seating inside since it's cold outside and they are serving ice cream... The staff was a little confused on how to make Rocky Road, and they didn't know how to use the cash register, but overall, it was fine for a newly opened site. I hope they last!

To start... delicious! Best mango sorbet I have ever had. And most amazing customer service! I asked the gentleman serving us if he could just scoop my daughter's ice cream into a cup as she has a peanut allergy. Without hesitation he went straight back to the freezer, opened up 2 fresh tubs of ice cream and served her! So kind!

Solid choice for dessert after a day or night at the town center. Asked for a medium of their cookie dough special, and they gave me enough to feed a whole family. Ice Cream is very smooth, and they do a great job of mixing in the toppings. Staff is also very friendly. Will definitely be returning

I absolutely love this ice cream shop! First of all, they offer birthday cake ice cream and birthday cake frozen yogurt, which I love the fact that they have a better-for-you option that still has great taste. I usually order a regular size mix of bday cake ice cream and bday cake frozen yogurt (hey, it makes me feel better about myself somehow; don't worry about how I do things) and with UNLIMITED mix-ins no matter what you order, it only gets better. Oreos, M&Ms, gummy bears - you're all invited to my ice cream party! You can get however many scoops of however many toppings you want. Then, they offer a white chocolate waffle cone, which is where my ice cream goes, and you have the best darn ice cream cone meal you could every hope for! Go visit and get your cool on!

This is one of the best designed Ice Cream Shops I've ever been to, at least for a chain. I absolutely love all the decor. The covers for the lights hanging from the ceiling have sprinkles on them. There are jars of candy hanging from the ceiling. The front of the counter is filled with M&M's and Reese's Pieces. There's lots of bold colors (one of the walls has thick stripes). The decor is so cool I went inside the restroom even through I didn't have to go, because I thought the restroom would look just as cool. It didn't. Neither did the ice cream. When I arrived to the shop at 12 pm on a Tuesday afternoon, half of the ice cream containers were nearly empty, with nothing but scraps stuck to the sides of the containers. Your store opens at 11, and there is no way you can make me believe you sold out of those flavors in 1 hour, especially on a Tuesday afternoon, when no one is in Rockville Town Square. I understand if you don't want to make new product when you know it won't sell for a few hours (or a few days, if weekends are your only busy time) but can't you at least wash the container out, and even out the remaining ice cream so it looks a little more visually appealing? Does your store have no visual product standards? And since ice cream is good for a long time, why can't you fill up the container, even when it's slow? I didn't think it was possible to make ice cream look bad (wait, actually Haagen Dazs does that all the time) but you sure did. The ice cream itself was good, though the pretzels weren't as good, and I probably would have given this place 4 stars if it wasn't for the presentation of the ice cream. For the record I ordered Sweet Cream mixed with chocolate covered pretzels.

Just like the statement of the stars indicates: "Meh. I've experienced better." This is an ice cream place located conveniently in Rockville Town Center. It does have a good deal of spacing, but actually not a lot of seats. It is not a big deal since I have never really seen more than 2 groups of people in here at the same time. The place does look a bit lethargic, but that does not really take it away. What really gets me is that even though there is a limited amount of seats, the seats look uncleaned for a bit of time. The tabletops were sticky and I needs a wipe down here and there. When we went the person behind the counter was just playing on his phone so definitely could have taken 45 seconds to wipe down. Besides this point, the only saving grace is the ice cream. The whole process is similar to Coldstone. You order ice cream flavors and then some toppings and they are then mixed and smooshed and mixed and rolled up into a cup or cone. Not much here. The ice cream was creamy, but most of the flavor was from the sugar and not the actual flavoring in the ice cream, which detracts from how "fresh" you feel after tasting it for some time. This is the aftertaste that separates a really good scoop of ice cream from the regular highly manufactured ice cream. I did not feel like it was the quality it should have been with the regular price point. I felt like I definitely have had better ice cream in other places. However, the good thing is the location. If you are in the area and you want to get ice cream after dinner or ice cream out on a whim, you are not left with many options. Thus, the good thing is the location. That is basically the reason we stopped by here was the fact that we were walking around and felt the urge to quench our sweet tooth.

The cotton candy creation is wonderful. Props to Emma for making it amazingly! Wish there were more marshmallows in it though, I should've personally specified that as well. I also felt like the cotton candy tasted sort of artificial. Service was wonderful and ambience was okay. Local ice cream store, kinda expensive, probs gonna resort back to good ol' Carmens!

Our first time in here, and they were super rude, they were empathyless. The ice cream super good and the customer service was the worst.

I've been in love with this place since I found out about in Houston when I was a kid. In my opinion, this is the original place for ice cream and the mixings! Can't go wrong with cheesecake ice cream! :)
