Nestled in Cuzco, Marcelo Batata dazzles with inventive Peruvian dishes, a picturesque rooftop terrace, and creative pisco cocktails—perfect for a chill meal with stunning views.
"Offering traditional Peruvian dishes as well as others with more of a gourmet-fusion twist, this restaurant is an object lesson in using a country’s gastronomical variety to the very fullest. In particular, it’s one of the best places in Cuzco to try alpaca steak, which is grilled to perfection and served with a variety of sauces such as mango and ginger, mushrooms, or good old salt and pepper. A lovely rooftop terrace with fabulous city views is a great spot to try some mighty tasty pisco cocktails. The bar also features a plethora of infused piscos (think fruits, spices, and even chili peppers), which are great fun."
Really tasty food and reasonably priced for that area. While it's something traditional, most of the dishes are using sweet sauces. Alpaca meat is worth trying. The service was good, but towards the end they lost focus even though there were 2 tables busy from the entire restaurant.

I went to Marcelo's had to try the yummy & delicious food, just for a late lunch. Food is fresh, great presentations as I saw the table next to mine, they don't rush you, as I was busy chatting with the people on the next table also. 😉 at a reasonable price. It's an upscale restaurant, great for romantic dinners as well as a group of friends.

Beautiful rooftop views, super friendly staff and a great menu. The food was superb (as was the passionfruit Pisco sour!). Their salted avocado is probably the best avocado I’ve ever eaten, and the alpaca chilli was so tasty (but huge!).
Really great place for a lunch.. bring the sunscreen though- it’s hot on the roof!

Great ambience and service, though the food was simply just OK. Ordered the loma Saltado after hearing how great it was, and was served no better than a mediocre stir fry with no flavor other than a heavy note of soy sauce.

Great roof top terrace for cocktails at sunset. The premium pisco chilcano is delicious. Excellent views and blankets provided as the temperature drops.

Very nice rooftop terrace overlooking Cusco. We got a couple appetizers and they were decent. We just ordered wine but the cocktails looked good - they make pisco sours in front of you

Papas Rellenas is excellent, outstanding and extraordinary. The potato mesh like melting sift butter with crispy surfaces. It's rich of textures. I like it so much. The chief here is professional with characters and pay lots of attention to foods to make richness and layers of good tastes. Highly recommended. Cooking class here is also nice. Have chance to cook the famous traditional dishes and know more about the food culture here in Peru.

We had lunch here and it was great! We had starters of avocado and local potatoes. I don't know what the sauce on the potatoes was but it was fantastic. For mains we had alpaca and a chicken dish. Both were great though quite large--we couldn't finish. Sadly no room for dessert. Service was attentive and friendly. Bill was under 200 Sol. Great value for money. Highly recommended.
