"Classic Cappuccinos and Cakes For a coffee and pastry shop, Pasticceria Marchesi has an unexpected historic elegance. Since the 1800s, they've stuck with a formula that works—classic cookies, jars of sweets, and strong coffee in a gorgeous setting. I came for a cappuccino and left with the perfect gift—a bag of handmade traditional sweets for friends."

I can not imagine a better to go coffee experience. The barista was a master of his craft. Well dressed and efficient. The cakes and pastries are incredible. I bought five pastries and they packed them up in a beautiful box and they were delicious. There is nowhere to sit which is fine, people were coming and going quickly to grab a pastry and espresso.

Stumbled upon this Marchesi location when needing a 5pm coffee to keep exploring town having already visited their other store by the Duomo inside the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. This is a much smaller place but unlike the Galleria one, it is quieter and we only had to wait for our table about 10 minutes. Had a cafe with tortelli by recommendation of the waiter, then followed up by a couple cocktails (an aperitivo Marchesi and another version with italicus) and stuzzicchini (cocktail snacks) potato chips, olives and almonds. Everything was excellent and I wish we were hungrier so we could have tried more food options.

True classic—easily the best pastry shop in town. The pastries are incredibly fresh, and the cappuccino was spot on. The standing tables at this location make it perfect for a quick stop if you’re on the go, but they also offer a few tables in the back for those who prefer to sit and enjoy the experience. Will definitely come back the next time I visit!

The prices felt a bit high compared to the taste. I really appreciated how friendly and helpful the staff at the dessert counter were. However, the young male server was hard to understand and came across as unfriendly, which left a disappointing impression.

Despite its reputation as a “touristy” spot, this café is actually a great find. One of the best coffees I’ve had in Milan - smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced. The desserts were also a nice surprise: fresh, not too sweet, and really enjoyable. Definitely worth a stop, even if it’s popular.

This place is really amazing. We took a coffee tiramisu, and that was excellent. The tiramisu pistacchio is great too! The service is friendly and welcoming. Thanks for this great moment.

Overall, great espresso and pastries. Be sure to know that it is not a sit down. Americans, pick pastries and order drinks while paying at checkout. Then get drink at the bar and can stand at bar and eat pastry and drink cappuccino or espresso. Overwhelming if it’s your first time but great experience and amazing food and drinks.
