We had a good time going to one of the mystery pre-releases at Marcus. The movie was the new Jurassic Park movie - I was surprised that I enjoyed it as much as I did. It was a pretty ok movie.
That doesn't really make a huge difference to the experience, though.
The theater was clean, but a bit desolate. It was an off night, but still felt empty.
The seats were fairly comfortable at first, and reclined, but they were a bit smaller than some, and held in a surprising amount of heat. I am typically a warm person already and was sweating through the movie.
The concessions looked very standard for a theater, but we skipped them because we had come from dinner.
One person kept pulling out their phone during the movie, and in the stadium style seats we could see everything. They were eventually yelled at, literally, and put it away for most of the rest of the movie - have some respect people. If it's that boring, leave.
I was curious about their extendo-screen, but friends said it was gimmicky at best, movies aren't really made for it, and it's obvious that it's projected onto walls that aren't completely custom for the function. Sounded neat, but it I guess I'm not sure how enhancing my periphery helps with a feature presentation in front of me.
Decent theater, might go back, but others in the area are nicer and closer to home.
