Very good place for fish and seafood. Heel is amazing, the bouillabaisse is even better, wine is relatively cheap and they many good desserts.

Cannot say anything bad about this place. What a wonderful experience. This is what happens when you know someone that knows the most authentic places in a city! The quality of food was amazing, taste and texture danced, flavors flew. I cannot speak highly enough of this. The European eel dishes in two forms were amazing! For dessert try Nara do ceu, very sweet!

Really terrible food. We trusted the good reviews and chose this one. The service was nice. But except this…the food was terrible. We ordered a seafood rice. We saw that the price was high…but why not! If the food is excellent. The waiter came with a pot with a lobster! Wow it looked amazing! However the lobster was cold. It was clear that it was added to a rice mixed with commercial fish soup and frozen mussels. It was prepared since it arrived really fast. The taste is kind of disgusting. The kind of food served in school restaurant. Really the worst seafood rice that one can imagine and we paid a lot for that! ( as you can see in the photos there is no shell for mussels and the texture is commercial fish soup kind)

Food was delicious but ambiance prevents me from giving 5 stars: was too loud both the seating area and the kitchen and there were two TVs showing the news. We had mussels as starters that were marinated in white wine that was amazing. My favorite was the grilled squid but also had the seafood rice. Be warned, portions are big! Would definitely come back to try other diahes

Great sea food restaurant. It's not the romantic kind since it can get loud and noisy. There are quite a few dishes that are meant for two or more people. So if you're trying to try a bit of everything then that can get expensive since the servings are large.

We had high expectations that somehow were almost but not fully met. Staff is super nice and friendly, make u feel like at home, top class service. The 5thstar is for the quality/price ratio. Seafood platter for 2 was very good, but maybe a bit expensive,90€, and for sure not the best I've ever had. I'd love to come back and taste the rices or the grilled fish.

Highly recommended if you are in Aveiro don’t miss it , it’s better to make reservation as it’s fully booked most of the time. We ordered sea rice with shrimp, seafood soup and fried calamari. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent

I recently visited this restaurant and I was very impressed with it. The fish and meat were really good, and the atmosphere was amazing. What really made the experience stand out was the great staff - they were so friendly and attentive. It's rare to find a restaurant that gets everything right, but this one did, and it definitely deserves a great review!

Yelp
We were educated on how the cost of the meal is determined ( market price) based on the number of grams a fish weighs. The waiter was so very helpful. The sea bass was so tasty, and the sides (rice with shrimp and a chopped salad of perhaps carrots, black eyed peas, and cruciferous vegetables) were delightful. The key lime tart and cheesecake (creamy with strawberry purée) were delectable! A wonderful dining experience!

Yelp
We had lunch here on a Friday afternoon not expecting the turnout. We must say we were amazed. The food was amazing we haven't had arroz de marisco like this in a long time. The seafood was so fresh you could taste the ocean. The ambience is relaxing your on the beach. Service was on point they took very good care of Welch table dining.

Yelp
This place is a gem; it's a place you can walk pasted and not know what you're missing. We wanted fresh fish, and we heard from the locals this was the place to be. As you walk to your right, you see a massive fresh fish lined up on ice, waiting for an owner to claim them. I ordered the Tiger prawns in garlic, not the best. It's in a red sauce with a mild fishy taste but once added some fresh lemon juice, it helped mask the fishy taste; all in all, it wasn't my favorite. The grouper was unbelievably delicious, with beautiful grill marks on both sides of the fish. A bowl of olives to start with cold bread with a side of cold butter. Everyone knows I'm a warm bread and butter girl! The grouper accompanied a soupy rice dish, and it was delicious. All in all, this place was lovely; the food was mediocre. Hopefully, next time, we'll try something else.

Yelp
Came herenfor lunch based on hotel recommendations. Restaurant was somewhat packed for lunch, but we were able to get a table without reservations. We had the special of the day, which consisted of soup, fried fish, vegetables, and seafood rice and espresso at the end. Everything was great and amazing. Since I don't drink espresso, I requested a cappuccino and was charged for it, which was fine. Definitely recommend going there as service was excellent as well.

Yelp
Just looking at the photos make my mouth waters again! This restaurant is just a short walk from the canal, not too hard to find. They don't have an English menu, but our waiter speaks good English. Apparently he spent his childhood watching American movies. He was very friendly and patient, took us to their display case where he pointed to the menu item then the fish/shellfish, so we are able to figure out what to order. He also gave us tips on places to visit around the area. We were curious to try the barnacles, but unfortunately it was not in season. Apparently the fishermen have to dive into the sea to collect them, and if the water is cloudy or wavy they won't be able to harvest the barnacles. Highly recommend the tiger prawns. Like the best seafood, simply prepared but heavenly delicious.

Yelp
Rude reception, period. Imposible to understand how one can own/run a restaurant and be so abrasive to customers !!! Totally unacceptable and inexcusable!!! Shame on you Maré Cheia . Estupidos mesmo . Não voltaremos ...

Yelp
We have been here twice, on the day we came to Aveiro. Yes this means lunch and dinner. What more can I say? Fish is totally great, the staff is really nice and despite the restaurant is more local than touristic, they help out a lot pointing out the dishes that are really worth trying. All the food was marvelous, I have tried their famous fried sardines (splendid!) and would recommend them if you are into something a bit different from normal. Great find, great restaurant!

Yelp
The best sea food ever! We had a very late dinner (by American standards) after a long day of sightseeing. The service was exceptional but the food was even more so. I shared the sea bass with my husband and it was plenty. My sons shared the paella and it was phenomenal. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
Our seafood soup was incredible with shrimp, grouper and potatoes. The service was exceptional. We would return often if we lived here. A highlight of our stay in this city.

Yelp
Nothing special for Português standards, place got famous somehow, unfortunately the food is not worth the long wait and the cocky staff. Price was according to the fame, not the quality. Salt is the main flavor here. Shame.
