AMAZING! Food portions are huge and everything tastes so good. Service is great and we felt very welcome. Homemade drinks are refreshing and tasty. If your in Heraklion for the day I would definitely recommend. A great place to look out onto sea. You won't be disappointed.

An absolute gem in Heraklion — unforgettable experience! Mare Coffee Bar & Food completely blew us away. From the moment we sat down, we were speechless — the view was literally stunning, with the sea right in front of us and the sound of the waves setting the most peaceful, beautiful atmosphere. It’s one of those rare spots where you can feel the sea breeze, taste amazing food, and just forget about time. The gnocchi with creamy chicken was heavenly — soft, perfectly cooked gnocchi in a rich, velvety sauce that felt like pure comfort. Then came dessert, and honestly… wow. The lemon cheesecake was light, fresh, and full of citrus flavor, while the traditional kantaifi with ice cream was the ultimate treat — crunchy, warm, sweet, and cold all at once. Simply divine! The drinks were great too — a perfectly balanced whiskey cola and a strawberry lime juice that was fresh, fruity, and refreshing. Every detail was done right, from presentation to timing, and the staff made everything feel effortless and welcoming. The whole experience was just magical — great food, great drinks, warm people, and a front-row seat to one of the most beautiful sea views in Heraklion. Oh my goodness, the salmon scrambled egg on bread with cottage cheese and a little salad... absolutely to die for. Couldn't eat another bite until evening. Also: super friendly staff!

It was good. The staff was very kind and polite, the ambience was extraordinary and the food was ok. It has room for improvement to be honest, but it was a good enough (Seafood saganaki-the shrimps and mussels were very fresh and trhe feta cheese was extremele tasty, the Salmon pasta was mediocre, but in both cases the portions were More than enough).The ambience is definetely the best in the afternoon or evening. Give it a try!

4.5/5 I never thought I would say this about a place but I genuinely think they gave us too much food. The food was amazing, it was delicious however, I would not say it’s a 10/10. There was room for improvement but I think I had everything I needed on my plate. My friend got the T-Bone stake which I personally liked but she wasn’t the biggest fan of. We also sat outside to watch the sunset but I guess because of the winds, the food go very cold, very fast. I know this wasn’t the restaurants fault because we chose to sit outside, but I would recommend to get a seat inside of you don’t really mind about scenery.

I've found myself coming back to this place for its super chilled atmosphere with a non-intrusive easy-listening music, very good coffee, a spacious terrace with a calming sea view, and the staff that make you feel welcome. A place where you easily forget there are busy Heraklion streets right on the other side of building.

Had a wonderful meal here today. We are here on holidays and I was craving some great seafood and Mare did not disappoint! Very generous portions and reasonable priced also. Our server (didn't get her name but has a Pikachu tattoo) was excellent. Very friendly and great customer service. Thank you so much!

before travelling to Crete, I tagged this fabulous restaurant to visit. Little did we know we would have a family style welcome by our hostess Marina, treating us like royalty- great salads and Aperol Spritz with sunny views from her deck over the blue Mediterranean waters. This was the highlight of our day in Heraklion, Crete. Thank you Marina- perfect🥰🥰
