Margin Street Inn

We thoroughly enjoyed our week stay at the Margin Street Inn. Its refurbished classical New England style is elegant while at the same time very cozy. The living room, sun room, the dinning room and the bedrooms are beautifully decorated and inviting. The views of the manicured grounds and river are wonderful. The owners, Sarah and Chris, are on-site and very friendly and helpful. The full breakfasts are wonderful. At 5 o’clock cheese, crackers, olives, salami and drinks are set out, which was a great way to meet some of the other guests. ||We are looking forward to our next visit.

Sarah & Chris are the loveliest innkeepers! Super friendly & welcoming. The accommodation is beautifully & tastefully decorated, comfortable and relaxing. Breakfast was delicious & Frittata the dog so cute! Highly recommend staying here. Would love to go back!🌸🌸

We had a fabulous stay at the Margin Street Inn. It started when we received a call from Chris as we were driving to Westerly. He wanted to know when we would be arriving, so that he could greet us upon arrival. The Inn is decorated beautifully, is extremely comfortable and you feel like you are enjoying the space in your own home. Chris and Sarah were great hosts. The breakfast made by Sarah was delicious and the friendliness of both Chris and Sarah was infectious - we enjoyed meeting all the guests; we particularly enjoyed the afternoon wine, beer and charcuterie board with our fellow travelers.|We didn't know the Westerly area well, but were impressed with the surrounding towns, restaurants and sights.|We definetly will return !!!

My husband and I had a absolutely wonderful stay at this beautiful inn! Sarah and Chris were very warm and welcoming, the food was amazing, and the buildings were just beautiful! We would 100% go back and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet and peaceful getaway.

Beautiful facilities and grounds, exquisitely maintained. Each of the 10 rooms has its own personality and all are absolutely lovely. The breakfasts are terrific and “Happy Hour” (drinks and snacks) is a daily treat, too. Sarah and Chris make you feel like you are staying with family — family that you actually like! I only wish that we could give it 6 stars!

In October 2024 , we enjoyed our stay in Rhode Island at the Margin’s Inn, on the Pawcatuck River near Downtown Westerly. The historic buildings and property were beautifully maintained and walking by the river in the morning to the Shipyard nearby was both relaxing and romantic as boats of all sizes floated by. Their ten guest rooms maintained the beautiful original woodwork and accentuated the architecture and views of the river. The common rooms were spacious and beautifully restored and decorated with comfortable furniture, as well as paintings and photographs by local artists. We had breakfast in the Perry house, which was built in 1849, originally in the Greek Revival style, and is the oldest surviving dwelling in the district to be constructed by a member of the Perry family. Upon Charles Perry Sr.’s death, Charles Jr. reworked the Greek Revival style in the Colonial and Classic Revival styles—first in the 1890’s and again in 1906. In 2016, the neighboring Larkin-Lewis-Perry house was purchased. Both properties have amazing woodwork and historic charm. We stayed in a lovely handicap accessible room in the Larkin-Lewis-Perry house with a door and ramp to the outside. Our beds were comfortable, and our room was well laid out. The owners Sarah and Chris Cooper were very hospitable and provided a hearty and delicious frittata breakfast for us in the morning. We felt welcomed and cared for by Chris and Sarah. If heaven was on earth it would be The Margin Street Inn. My room was exquisite, looking over the grounds with big windows and dreamy fabrics. The only thing better was the homemade gourmet breakfast. I adored my stay at this hotel and will be back for sure.

The welcome was so warm! Fritatta, the resident dog made it feel like coming home instead of being away from home! Beautiful Inn, spectacular grounds, and wonderful history! Sarah and Chris have put so much attention to every detail! I look forward to visiting again!

We can't say enough great things about the Margin Street Inn and about our gracious and hard-working hosts, Sarah and Chris. We recently had a large group stay here and everything was absolutely wonderful. If you've stayed in some nice B&Bs, you probably think you know what this will be like -- but this is several notches better: a big step up in luxury, cleanliness, beautiful setting, and the attentiveness of the hosts. We stay at nearby Ocean House frequently, and of course that's lovely and luxurious. But the accommodations at the Margin Street Inn are every bit as good... and a *lot* less expensive. We were all delighted with our stay and hope to have the good fortune to be able to visit again!

Margin Street Inn is a gem. Sarah and Chris are incredibly hospitable and knowledgeable. We were blown away by the attention to detail from the quality of the room appointments to the homemade breakfasts. Recommendations for day trip and restaurants were spot on. Don't miss this wonderful inn. Sarah and Chris, the couple who are the innkeepers, do a fantastic job in making this a wonderful home away from home. Ideally located on a quiet neighborhood street adjacent to the Pawcatuck river, within easy reach to visit Watchhill, Newport, Mystic and Stonington. The Inn is comprised of two separate buildings, both of which have been totally renovated ...sparing no expense with incredible attention to detail. Enjoy!!!!
