Beautifully designed restaurant with attentive and friendly staff delivering a welcoming and sophisticated dinner experience for a reasonable price. Not every dish is mind blowing, but those that hit are home runs. Recommendations: pork, lamb, fish of the day, focaccia (bread + butter is excellent) and chips. Avoid: steak, trout, cauliflower, spinach and Boursin. The quality and standards within every dish could be seen and tasted. Fresh goods used and presented for your eyes to feast. The simple meat dishes are executed with care and flavours are exacerbated with balanced fruity notes. My favourite dish was the lamb which was tender and came with an excellent gravy, yet my least favourite dish, the spinach, was wet and barely cheesy. The decor is unbelievable. Every nook and cranny in this place has had a touch of magic. It’s warm, relaxed and conducive to a great time. We had piles of food between 7 with wine and cocktails yet it still was only £70 a head which is ridiculous value for the overall experience. I loved the meal, but it isn’t my favourite scoop group restaurant!! Still brilliant keep up the great work, cheers :)

I had dinner at MARGO on the 23/01/2025 and I can say it is really deserving of its great reputation. The food was all really fresh, packed with flavour and some great combinations. It was generally hard to choose and a small group could really take advantage of the small plates to taste many great dishes. My menu selection: Nibbles: arturo sánchez iberian ham Starter: jerusalem artichoke, green harissa, white soy and pine nut Main: grilled squid, morteau sausage and braised puy lentils Side: chips with lemon and parsley aioli Desert: salted caramel and whisky custard tart, buttermilk sorbet and blood orange Aperitif: old fashioned Wine: beaujolais The standouts for me were the starter and the desert (and I don’t typically have a sweet tooth. I would say some of the sauces were very rich for my personal taste but it didn’t distract from the dishes and so I haven’t down scored for this as it’s personal taste. The waiting staff were all very friendly and attentive a great experience all around!

Ate at the chefs table. Service was super the food was amazing some of the best I have ever had. The desert was amazing. Every plate was better than the one before. Nice cocktails. I wish I had gone for the wine option as the cocktail didn't really fit even though it was amazing too. Don't miss out book a table now. Thanks Margo for a super birthday dinner.

One of the best physical spaces of a restaurant out there. Waiters that know the script and food served in a timely manner. Everything here is good, and makes for a fun night out. Might be the glowing reviews of others or the Michelin recommendation but I found myself wanting something more. This company has a great formula and all their restaurants make for a good time, frustratingly i find things somewhat repeated.

It was absolutely divine! We had an array of dishes and everything was excellent, including the bowl of chips. Our highlight of the night the skate though, it was very very good. Service was good as well, and the venue has great vibes.

Margo was the place we chose for our last night in Glasgow, and honestly, we couldn’t have imagined a better finale. It was a truly amazing dining experience from start to finish. I had noted during the reservation that one person at our table has coeliac disease, and our server showed up with an edited menu highlighting what could be made gluten-free and what already is. That small detail made us incredibly happy. I was too hungry at the beginning and forgot to photograph the starters, but we ordered focaccia with olive oil (not GF) and chipsticks with taramasalata (GF). Both were satisfying starts, and the chipsticks were especially good. After that, we had the beef carpaccio (made GF) and the crab and crayfish cocktail (GF), which you can see in the photos. The black pepper was slightly overpowering on the carpaccio, but the cocktail was absolutely perfect. Then came the mains: braised feather blade of beef, chips with lemon and parsley aioli, and the duck. All three were outstanding — truly flawless and all GF. The only thing that didn’t quite speak to us was the liver parfait served with the duck, but the duck itself was so good that we barely cared. And for the last kiss of the night, we went with the bare bones chocolate nemesis (GF) and the chamomile panna cotta (made GF). The chocolate dessert was unreal. If I hadn’t been so full, I genuinely would’ve ordered a second one. We had an absolutely phenomenal experience at Margo. If you’re in Glasgow and you know good food, you have to try it!

From the moment I walked in, the service stood out - friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without ever being intrusive. I started with the chipsticks with red pepper and seaweed, a clever snack that set the tone with its perfect crunch and subtle umami lift. The cured chalkstream trout was beautifully balanced - the tang of tiger milk and salted plum danced with the freshness of shiso, creating layers of flavour that felt bright and modern. The skate wing, served with kumquat kosho, trout roe, and green peppercorns, was the highlight - delicate, silky fish paired with zesty and peppery notes that brought real depth. Even the grilled sprouting broccoli impressed, with romesco and smoked almonds turning a simple side into something addictive. Every plate was precise yet full of character - a reflection of a kitchen that knows its craft. Margo is the kind of place where fine dining meets genuine warmth. Unfortunately I didn’t have room for desserts, but chamomile panna cotta sounds really mouth watering. — and I’ll definitely be back.

Had a wonderful afternoon at Margo. The food and service were lovely, and the team made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The environment was wonderfully chilled—perfect for a relaxed dining experience without feeling rushed. Highly impressed all around, and I can’t wait to be back to try more from the menu.
