Every element of our experience at this hotel was outstanding. The staff is exceptional. The location is wonderful on one of the most charming streets of Rome. And our room was stylish and very large by Rome standards. We also had amazing meals at Emme, the affiliated restaurant. I can't say enough positive things about our stay! We felt like we had a home away from home during our stay! Outstanding!

This is not a typical hotel, it is more like an Airbnb apartment rental. If you are a traveler who prefers to have a front desk staffed with concierge who can provide information and assistance, this is not it. There is a reception phone number for a sister hotel about 2 blocks away that you can call when you arrive . Check-in process without a staff on site, as you can imagine, was rather confusing and difficult. The unit we booked is very large with two floors. Living space and kitchen on the bottom and bedroom/bathroom on the second floor. I would say it is a great set up if you are staying for an extended amount of time. We stayed three nights and did not use the downstairs at all. The apartment is spacious with a well-stocked kitchen and bathroom. The interior though is pretty dated and could use some upgrading. The bathroom tiles (both floor and shower) looked old and dingy. I would not consider the interior to be "luxurious" as the property self-describes. The best part about Margutta 54 is the location. It is within walking distance of just about every major sites in Rome with high end shopping and restaurants at every turn. And yet, the apartment itself is tucked away in a lovely courtyard that is quiet and tranquil. Overall, for the purposes of our travel, I would only highly recommend the location of Margutta 54, everything else was not impressive.

We are repeat guests at Margutta 54, and we'll be back again next time we visit Rome.||Via Margutta is the most beautiful street to stay if you want to feel like a local, soak in the history, enjoy peace and quiet on a cobblestone pedestrian street yet be within a short walk of the Spanish Steps.||The rooms are very spacious and comfortable by Rome standards, making you feel like you're in a private apartment rather than a hotel. The building is historic and beautiful, but the interior are newly decorated and equipped with all the mod-cons.||You check in a short distance down the road at Margutta 19 (their hotel), where a porter takes you and your luggage on a golf cart to Margutta 54. Margutta 19 also has a restaurant as well as friendly reception staff to help with arrangements or advice.||I wish the owners all the best of success with great reviews like this one, but also secretly hope that not too many people discover it so that it remains our hidden gem in Rome!

We had a terrible experience here. One month before they randomly cancelled our reservation due to “plumbing issues”. Then they said the issues would be resolved and reinstated it. When we checked we had booked connecting suites but were not given that. The rooms weren’t clean. There was hair in the beds. There was a fresh urine stain next to the toilet in one of the rooms. Then we had issues checking out due to an early flight. There was no one at reception at the main hotel to assist. It’s supposedly 24 hours but we could not find anyone there to help with the bags or answer the phones. I left the main gate where Margutta 54 but then no one was answering he buzzer to let me in (after hours you cannot access the property without pressing a button and someone buzzing you in) so I got locked out. Lastly they double billed our credit card and I had to send a number of emails to get that refunded and lost money on foreign currency fees as a result - which they didn’t care about. Sorry but I cannot recommend this property. The service is terrible and the rooms were dirty.

Very nicely appointed suite. The only thing I would change when I stay there again is staying in an upper floor as the subway is noisy and the residents who live above the main floor suite we stayed in seemingly paced the floors until very late and started up again at 5am. Location is great, very close to the Spanish Steps, great restaurants, cafes, sites and shopping. The guide book provided at checkin really was filled with great info about the area and all it had to offer.

We stayed for 3 nights at Margutta 54. We had an excellent stay. The location is amazing and staff were extremely efficient and helpful. The owner's recommendations for restaurants in the area were great. We would definitely recommend staying here!.

This hotel has only 3 rooms. The room and bathroom were spacious and clean but parts of the room, like the floor, seemed a little worn. It wasn't easy for our driver to find the place as it is in a little courtyard with a gate that is locked at night. We were given a key to the gate, a key to the hotel, and a key to our room and told the staff was only available from 7:30 am to 7:30 pm. Our friends were out one evening and came back to discover that their keys did not work. They were not able to get in touch with anyone from the hotel. Fortunately we were in our room and were able to go down and let them in. Our room was on the second floor. There is no elevator. But the hotel is located in an interesting section of town. Many galleries, restaurants and high end stores were nearby. Many tourist attractions are within walking distance. We were told that breakfast was included in our room rate. The clerk on duty when we checked in told us that we should call the desk when we wanted breakfast and it would be served in our room -- croissants and juice. No options.! The next day we consulted with our agent and we discovered that a very nice breakfast was actually served in another hotel about a 5 minute walk away, We enjoyed our stay but we would only recommend the hotel with some reservations.

Margutta 54 is my favourite in Rome! We always end our Italian holiday here (have visited annually for the last 5 years) and I just love the private courtyard suites which are recessed off the characteristic cobblestones of Via Margutta (a beautiful green lane in the heart of Rome) & situated behind beautiful wrought iron gates. Just love all the space behind the facade of the beautiful Historic buildings.||||The suites have recently been beautifully re-decorated since our last visit a year ago, to match their new Margutta 19. Very modern, great colour palette scheme and choice of fabrics and very spacious and comfortable (although as someone who has recently completed an Interior Design & Decorating Diploma, I was sorry to see the old wooden floorboards replaced in the renovation, as loved their homely charm). ||||Suites are thoroughly cleaned daily.||||There have been changes with checking in which is now at Margutta 19, as there is no longer a reception at Margutta 54, but a golf cart & porter is available to assist with any luggage. You also have the convenience of a beautifully appointed breakfast or any other meals available at Margutta 19 (which is a short stroll away).||||It is always so lovely to see the familiar face of Nabila, who always recognizes and welcomes us with such a big friendly hug! (Grazie). ||||All the staff are beautifully presented, are extremely accommodating and make you feel very welcome.||||Highly recommended!
