Maria Bonita receives a lot of praise from the Mexican food lovers I know, but I've been twice already and am not all that convinced.
The menu is pretty small and meat-heavy, but there is a vegetarian section. Unfortunately, three of the four options have eggs in them, which means only one is capable of being vegan without having to remove some of the main ingredients. Prices are OK in general, though compared to what you get at other burrito joints in town, they are a bit on the higher side.
The first time I went, they had the Rajas something or other, which was so unmemorable that I can't even remember what was in it. It tasted fine, but yeah, not something that made me want to come back. The second time I went, recently, they had gotten rid of that option and had a sweet potato chipotle option, which sounded good. I had them hold the sour cream to make it vegan, and it was pretty OK, but again, not amazing.
I guess what puts me off about the burritos I've had it that the flavors don't really blend together super well... plus the burritos are full of cilantro, which I just can't get behind. If I go again, I would ask to have no cilantro, but Maria Bonita is more one of those places that I will only eat at if I am in the area and don't know what else to get.
