Love this restaurant! One of the best place to eat in La Paz! The food was very good and come with large portion. Price is slightly cheaper compared to those ocean side restaurants. Services was fantastic, got seated right away. Would definitely recommend this place to try for anyone who’s around. Only thing is this place open for breakfast and lunch only and closes at 2pm.

Google
This is an amazing restaurant. Staff isso friendly and food was fantastic. Best enchilada I have ever had. Fernando was so helpful and advised me on all the good stuff. If you have time you have to come here! You won't be disappointed.

Google
This place was recommended to me by Reddit and I had to try it out. Came the first day at 2:30pm without checking their hours and they were closed already. Bummer! Came back the next day and OMG it blew us away! I LOVED the food here. Would have came back again if we had time but we were leaving La Paz the next day. A reservation is recommended since they seemed to be pretty busy. We were lucky to get seated right away. Typing this review right now wishing I was back in La Paz to come back here!

Google
Angela y Sofia, we’re Very attentive and provide us with all the quality Service. We deserved. The food was delicious. I recommend the drink. Besitos, which is a very healthy type of Green. Red juice.

Google
Food was exceptional in quality, taste, price, and portions! Absolutely loved the attention and care from the staff, especially Fernando. Food was so good we went back a second time. The restaurant ambience is also very fun.

Google
I took a wrong turn searching for another restaurant, and rather than navigate the one-way streets, I pulled into the first available parking spot. As luck would have it, it was right in front of Maria California. The restaurant had vibrant, colorful walls with traditional decor and live music at 11 AM. I ordered the chilaquiles with eggs, smothered in homemade mole sauce, and a rompope frappé. I also sampled their waffles, fresh-squeezed orange juice, and house lemonade. It was the best breakfast I've had in a long time. The service was prompt, and the prices were reasonable. If you're ever in the area, do yourself a favor and visit this gem.

Google
Its so sweet and cozy here. Had one of my best breakfast burritos here. According to my girlfriend, it was the best coffee ever in Baja she had. The staff was really nice and was on the ball. Keep on going that way.

Google
Is a very rare hidden gem. It feels cozy and tastes like real homemade food. The service is good and the ambience better

Yelp
This restaurant has the best breakfasts in La Paz. The first time I came here, I made a mistake ordering some pancakes. The pancakes were outstanding, so that wasn't the mistake. The mistake I made was ordering a full stack of pancakes with Nutella. While delicious, it was too much food, and way too rich. On my latest visit this past Friday, I had the chilaquiles de guajillo roja con carne asada y huevos (tortilla chips in a moderately spicy salsa with onion, queso fresco, roasted beef, and two eggs over easy). It was outstanding! I had the large portion, and was quite stuffed! The offer both large and small portions, and the small is only called that because it isn't as huge as the large. The menu is huge, with an entire page for juices and smoothies, and another for shakes. A large smoothie and a small main will leave most people quite satisfied. The service is always outstanding, and most of the staff are bilingual. They know the menu well, and can explain any dish you have questions about. They are attentive, without being pushy. They take cards, and will bring the terminal to your table. Every table has a QR code sticker for the menu. They have various seating areas, and the place is clean and attractive. My partner and I love to sit in the front veranda, but they have interior seating if it's windy or wet.

Yelp
Terrible wait time and service. If you're a party of 2 and coming on a slow day, wow beware. 1 hour after we ordered our food, it appeared. We drank our refreshments at least 30 minutes before the food arrived. Not one time in the hour wait for our food did the waiter even let us know. Don't waste your time here.

Yelp
This restaurant was very decent. Since we came on their 12th anniversary, we were served slices of cake and they were very well made! We got seated just 10 minutes after we got there and it only took 20 minutes for food to arrive. Amazing service! Although their portion sizes were enormous, especially their pancakes, they had some really good, Mexican style brunch. They served us some chips and a salsa made from beans that were really good! They also had very fresh, tropical drinks like their guava, orange, strawberry drink. This restaurant was also well maintained and it looked like a cool beach hut. There was music and had a fun vibe. This restaurant is great for brunch and as a last minute one too. I highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Love this place! There is a slight wait but well worth it. It is a big home converted into a charming restaurant with a lot of fun murals and inspirational quotes on the wall. The food is so satisfying! We had the following: Enchiladas- Shrimp stew (Santa Veronica) and shredded meat (Santa Lupita). The sauces have the perfect tangy flavor and spices. Both the red and green sauces were amazing so ask for half and half. We also had the hot cakes, super fluffy for being so thick and the corn muffin was the BEAT corn muffin ever. It was moist and have lots of corn in it vs just flour. The sauce complements it well. The live music was a nice addition. We can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Be ready to wait 1 hour plus for your food and when you get it's cold and 20 minutes for your coffee creamer to drink with your cold coffee. This place is not worth the price, food is not good at all, the bluffy pancakes are just a hipe, they're a very dry and tick not moist at all. We spend $30 on our small cold breakfast that took 1 hour plus to get. We usually don't complain about waiting for our food for how long it took if the food was good. But we had bad service and bad over price cold food. Do not recommend this place, no wonder locals don't come here. It's a tourist trap.

Yelp
Could not ask for more. delicious food, very gracious staff given my poor Spanish and Huge portions!

Yelp
This place was super bomb ! I had the San Luis dish for breakfast I usually don't eat my whole meal but I did this time. My daughter had the burrito and my little one had the waffles. My wife and I shared the San Luis and we did not stay hungry. If you come to La Paz make sure you have breakfast here , get the Mexican coffee !

Yelp
By far the best restaurant in La Paz. Order the biscuits with jam as a starter and it will change your life! The sopes are amazing, chilaquiles are delicious! The pancakes are phenomenal!! I wish I could take this restaurant home with me to the US! We love the old building that is full of Mexican culture! Cleanest bathrooms out of most restaurants! And the service was impeccable!! This is an absolute gem!

Cristian B.

Yelp
Made this my first stop upon arriving to La Paz. Pancakes were amazing and in my opinion made for sharing. Wait time wasn't bad at all (Friday morning). The atmosphere was very chill. Soon after we arrived a woman performed some soft classics that added to the vibe nicely. The smoothies and juices are amazing.

Yelp
Maria Mariaaaa!!! Lol sorry I had make that reference. Maria California is a great breakfast spot in a neighborhood right off the malecon in the commercial zone. It sets right on the corner making outdoor seating a great option. The staff is very friendly. The food was being excellent. Any place that allowed you to have chilaquiles as a side dish is great in my book! Grab your dog and go grab a great breakfast
google avatar

Jesstine G.

Yelp
Amazingly delicious breakfast and cute ambiance. I love the selection of chilaquiles and varying spice levels. So many options! Cafe de olla is fantastic. Salsas are great. Service is friendly. Buuut, super slow service on weekend mornings. Like, it's bad. So try to go off-peak hours.
google avatar

Tawnya H.

Yelp
Yes please. I'll start this review by saying I was sweaty and tired and probably not in the best mind to look at a beautiful menu that had soooo many choices, sooo many delicious choices. I did have the sense that I really could not go wrong, and as we tried our food, my sense was proven correct. We already had eaten breakfast, but you can eat breakfast at amy time of day right? This is one of my favorites here in La Paz
google avatar

Lauren S.

Yelp
The corn muffin. Omg. You have to get it. We also loved the green Chile chilaquiles and fresh juices. What an authentic place!

Yelp
SO NICE, CAME HERE THRICE! Our favorite breakfast restaurant by far in La Paz, BCS, Mexico. The food is great, the staff is wonderful, and the ambiance absolutely relaxing and fun. I highly recommend trying out this restaurant if you visit La Paz. FYI they only accept cash on Sundays! :)

Yelp
So delicious! Great atmosphere, friendly staff and amazing food! I absolutely recommend stopping by here for brunch and trying their amazing food and drinks!

Yelp
Ese café lechero está delicioso y la experiencia ni se diga. La comida, el ambiente y el sazón de los platillos es exquisito. Totalmente recomendado !as porciones están muy bien servidas también.

Yelp
This was our first breakfast in La Paz and it was outstanding. I had to try the biscuits with Philly and strawberry jam. The biscuits we so fluffy and soft. I also ordered the Molletes just the bean and cheese which I enjoyed. My hubby ordered the San Carmelo. Mom ordered the Chilaquiles with poblano cream sauce and moms bf ordered the the Maria California omelet. We also ordered the fresh juice which was also great. We'll be eat here a few more times.

Yelp
This is a cool little spot in La Paz. The food was good but like others said, the service is extremely slow.
google avatar

Jesus G.

Yelp
Amazing breakfast and service was fabulous. Went back to have a second breakfast but their computers were down so cash only. Freshly squeezed OJ was so good and they didn't skimp. For two of us we spent $25, in the US this would've been $50. The OJ alone would've been $10 in the US. A charmingly great deal. Run don't walk!

Yelp
Hands-down, the most delicious breakfast you can have anywhere in La Paz. Very extensive meal and the ambience is well thought out. Separate rooms with lots of color and decoration. I will warn you that there's usually a line to get in early in the mornings and the service is incredibly, and I mean incredibly slow. I guess it's just something to be expected of such a popular place so as long as you know that, and you can be patient, you will not regret coming here. I do recommend that you order your drinks at the very least as you're being seated. It will be 15 to 25 minutes before somebody comes and takes your order , and when they do bring your food ask for the bill at that time because bringing the bill takes 30 to 40 minutes as well. This has been my experience every single time. As long as you know and do that, it won't be so painful because the food is completely worth it. It's still my favorite breakfast place. I would take a star away from that but it doesn't justify how great the food is.

Marie B.

Yelp
Food was good- lots of choice & open to substitutions. Portions were good (kids shared waffles). However, service was awful... we arrived right at opening, waited for over 30min for our food- and over 30 more to pay! There are plenty of great places in La Paz & I wont go back to this one!
google avatar

Yelp
Wow, wow, and wow!!! They have the best food and smoothies in La Paz I swear. Their menu is like 10 pages of pure joy and deliciousness. They have 3 pages of juices, fruit smoothies, and shakes. They have amazing enchiladas and their pancakes are sooo fluffy and good. The reason I only gave 4 stars is because the service is very very slow. We ordered drinks and didn't get them until probably 30 minutes later. If you're not in a big rush to get any where and are okay with spending 2 hours on brunch/breakfast than it's not a big deal but just be prepared for slower service. The staff is very kind and they were definitely very busy when we went around 11am on a Saturday. If the service was a bit faster it would definitely make the overall experience better. I think if we had gotten our drinks sooner (a latte and a smoothie) we wouldn't have been as bummed that our food took so long (40-45 minutes). Overall, cute place with amazing food but if you come for brunch on a weekend the service may be extremely slow.

Yelp
In a laid back and hospitable beach town with many great food options, this establishment puts the "California" in Baja California. That's to say their uppity, self-important attitude when we walked in was too reminiscent of the SoCal-style hubris we were trying to escape if only for a week, and so we left for La Parrilla Norteña for some delicious Chilaquiles.
google avatar

Erin H.

Yelp
Best breakfast place in La Paz! They have an English menu and beautiful artwork everywhere. The smoothies and homemade juices were really good. My friend got huevos rancheros and I got pancakes.
google avatar

Jodi W.

Yelp
Fantastic fresh juices and a chilaquiles menu that will make you drool. I'm determined to work my way through the chilaquiles - you first select a salsa, a style, and what protein. This is one of my favorite places for breakfast in La Paz. My favorite salsa/sauce is the poblano cream salsa, and I only order them with eggs, but they do have chicken, carne asada and several more options. !Perfecto!
google avatar

Ashlie C.

Yelp
Super friendly employees. Accommodating to people with dogs. Four hungry people that were super satisfied by their meals and the server. Thank you for another wonderful meal in La Paz! I will return on my next visit!
google avatar

Yelp
Breakfast deliciousness. So many breakfast options. Staff was very nice. We enjoyed enchilada plates with smoothies. So yummy and fresh. You can see the ocean from the restaurant.
google avatar

Brandon G.

Yelp
Well a 2 hr wait for food after you're seated is never fun. The food is basic. Nothing special and the service is horrendous. I don't recommend coming here unless you know you'll be hungry hours from when you want to eat. There's too many other places around. Don't waste your time.

Poupee P.

Yelp

Gracias What a great little place for breakfast. Paola and Ray were attentive and spit on with the great service. Thanks

Yelp
6 pages of drink choices from coffee to fresh juices to agua frescas to smoothies... then pages of egg dishes and enchiladas and pancakes and much much more. María California is definitely a must visit for breakfast/brunch in La Paz. It's more on the edge of the malecon area where people are out and about, but don't miss it. It's very busy for breakfast, so expect a wait.. either outside or for your food. We've been 3 or 4 times and experienced varying degrees of service depending on how busy they are. Don't get me wrong, it's always friendly but if you're short on time, I would go another day. For coffee, I recommend the lechero- you get a bit of a show as they froth your coffee by pouring it from a distance and letting gravity to the work. There are TONS of options for fresh juice and smoothies and you can create any combination you can imagine. Definitely get a fresh juice with your breakfast. This is a chilaquiles lovers' heaven. They have various sauces ranging in flavor and spiciness and pages of specials with different options of proteins. You can't go wrong, they're all delicious. I'm a big fan of the soups here as well. The chicken soup with rice is comforting and flavorful, and the perfect remedy if you're not feeling so great. The sopa azteca is incredibly flavorful and the cheese, chicharron, and avocado add these very satisfying textures to every spoonful.

Yelp
Great food, lots of fresh juices, teas, and agua frescas, and a large menu with a lot of options. I had the hibiscus rosemary agua fresca and it was excellent--refreshing, delicious, with a hint of herbal bitterness. For food, I had a side of chicharrones en salsa verde and chorizo and potato enchiladas. The enchiladas were very good, but the chicharrones were the star! Tangy, the right amount of fat, and enough brightness to cut through that fat. My friend had cheese enchiladas and guacamole and said both were great. The desserts looked excellent, but we were beyond full from the enchiladas. I highly recommend this place!

Dan L.

Yelp
Cool decor, artsy, food was varied and tasty but service was also super slow on the Thursday morning when we went. Not the very best Mexican breakfast I've had (that was in a tiny mountain town in Jalisco ) but the best I had in La Paz.
google avatar

j g.

Yelp
Vegan and gringo and gabacho friendly and good food. Mex potatoes with breakfast were only weak spot.
google avatar

Gerry B.

Yelp
Everything from the decor to the food was simply amazing. The fruit drinks were by far the best I have ever tried anywhere else in La Paz. Great service and friendly staff.
google avatar

Josh R.

Yelp
We had the Burro Norteño, sopes con chorizo, chilaquiles con salsa verde, and enchiladas. Everything was really good. We will definitely be going back here this month. We tried three of the juices also and are really anxious to try a bunch of the others that are available. I would definitely recommend this place. The side salsas they brought to the table were delicious also, but I was the only one able to take the heat.
google avatar

Jason S.

Yelp
Awesome breakfasts. Authentic tastes of Mexico. And a huge menu of drinks and food. Service is slow but friendly. The servings are generous and not expensive. There are fans everywhere inside and out to keep the flys away and the decor is charming. Make sure you can decipher a Spanish menu, this isn't a Malecon tourist trap, it's a genuine restaurant for the local population.

David S.

Yelp
Well it's a great spot. A few down points: our server hated his job and he was slow and forgetful. Missed the tortillas and side of bacon, getting coffee refills took an act of god, this just wasn't his passion. There is live music, a soloist on a karaoke machine on weekends. She is decent. Food was good but the chile spice level was totally 100% gringo. Had to add from the salsa cups and it was sufficient and very tasty. If I wasn't leaving today we would definitely come back.
google avatar

Valeria C.

Yelp
Went there for breakfast with my husband. He had a latte and it was really good. We ordered a half order of molletes (slice bolillo bread with beans and manchego cheese) and they were so good. Really cheesy and with salsa on the side. I had the San Ruben enchiladas with panela cheese. It was super good. Definitely recommend going here for breakfast.
google avatar

Auros H.

Yelp
The enchiladas in mole sauce (I think the "Santa Angela") were outstanding, probably the best mole poblano I've had. The fresh juices were also excellent, and the waffle my friend got was pretty good as well.
google avatar

Anna Z.

Yelp
***Update. Went back the other day and service and food was not the same level or quality. It took over 45 minutes to get our food and then another 25 minutes to get our bill, after asking 3 people for it. My food didn't come with everything that was on the menu. And we didn't get everything that we asked for. Tortillas showed up after we were almost done with our meals. Coffee was already cold before meals arrived. No sweet breads delivered before the meal, even though other tables had them. Coffee wasn't refilled until the end of meal. Our server didn't even bother to check on us after food arrived. Sad, we enjoyed our last meal and visit. We won't be back during the weekend again.
google avatar

Dennyse W.

Yelp
I really like this place but remember I'm about the vibe of a place, not just the taste of the food. I give the vibe 5 stars and the food this last visit a 4 star rating. I had huevos rancheros and although it was prepared a little differently than I'm used to, the taste was good. They were accommodating for a picky eater with us who wanted something not on the menu but simple enough to make - a cheese, bacon and chorizo burrito which she said was just perfect. The large orange juice was really big. All in all, a good place for breakfast or lunch
google avatar

Stuart M.

Yelp
If there's a better place to go for breakfast in La Paz I'd like to see it. Set in a rambling old house with lots of kitschy decor, with a small army of servers and a vast menu to choose from, everything we tasted on two visits was delicious. Standouts: fresh squeezed juices, cafe de la Olla with cinnamon, machaca enchiladas with eggs, and chilaquiles in salsa verde. OH MY the salsa verde - I could drink it straight up! I could eat here once a week for the rest of my life. One word of caution though: juices come in two sizes, and the grande is a #%~ liter! So you might want to start with a small.
google avatar

Heather B.

Yelp
Oh my goodness!! This place was amazing!! I love that the building was a former home. It has all the character and charm of old Mexico. T The menu is quite extensive, so you'll find something to please everybody - breakfast or lunch! The service was great... they were busy so yeah we had to wait, but our server was so nice and spoke great English. It was my husband's birthday when we went and the servers were gathered in the back practicing "Happy Birthday" in English! They were so relieved when my Father-in-law said they should just sing in Spanish, but I have such respect for them for wanting to try it in English! Overall it was a wonderful brunch! The food was delicious (and plentiful, OMG I don't think I've ever been that full), the people were great, and the atmosphere was enjoyable. I highly recommend it! Just remember they close at like 2:00 pm so this is a breakfast/lunch/brunch option, NOT DINNER.
google avatar

Christen G.

Yelp
We had a great breakfast here. The food was amazing and the juice was literally sooo fresh and tasty. 10/10.
google avatar

Erika S.

Yelp
We come here for breakfast every time we come to La Paz and we come here at least 3x a year. Cute little place, good service.
google avatar

Hailey F.

Yelp
Perfect Mexican breakfast! Their menu is extensive and they have tons of different types of chilaquiles. They also have many types of different juices that are fresh squeezed! So incredibly tasty...we went back another day for another juice. The atmosphere is great and the service was helpful as they speak English.

Nader M.

Yelp
This place is really good. It was actually one or the few places on our trip that we got chillaquilles. Had the green poblano one and it was creamy and rich. One of the best I've had and not saying that because I was on vacation like a lot of peoples' reviews in baja. Not exaggerating how good they were.
