We stayed from 17th Aug till 24th and were given room 231. This room was a double bed with balcony that faced the street and car park. No drama as not a lot of traffic and car park is only about 8 cars parked up. Bonus of this side was after a full day in the sun by the pool the evening on the balcony then got all the sun before setting. Only downside is under the bed doesn’t seem to be hoovered or cleaned as a lot of dust. Hotel was clean modern with plenty of facilities and upon arrival a glass of wine is offered. Pool is a good size and not cloudy as previously mentioned with plenty of sunbeds either side all in a decent condition. Pool bar was good with friendly helpful staff and there is even a poolside little restaurant so to speak for lunch. Rooftop bar for food and drinks is great for views and to relax and usually some live music is being played. Breakfast has a choice of a hot breakfast section, cereals, hams and cheeses with fruit bread juices coffee so caters for everyone. Hotel is card payment only. Overall a lovely hotel for our holiday with friendly helpful staff.

Amazing hotel, absolutely loved it there staff were brilliant, made our stay feel special. Beautiful food, Breakfast was delicious and the roof top bar was amazing, we absolutely loved it there, we were looked after so well, big thanks to all the staff. I had a vegetarian curry in the Al a carte restaurant it was superb. My boyfriend had Tapas which was delicious. Pool area is lovely and so chilled, loads of sunbeds with a great Pool bar. It's Spotless everywhere. A stunning relaxing hotel, with friendly, helpful and brilliant staff. Thankyou for making our stay so special. Ceri & Ian (Wales) Room 316

In general the hotel was good .|Breakfast was very good with the best scrambled eggs we have had in years.|We had lunch every day of our 7 night stay at the pool bar and we generally were very happy with the quality of the food and drinks.|Our room was a bit tired. Sink plunger didn't work ( was repaired and it almost worked) Towel rail was falling off and some of the cupboard board trim ( fridge cupboard) was falling off. As other reviews have mentioned the fridge cupboard and like a oven. Not really suitable for fit for purpose.|It looks like a refurb has been done but I don't think it was done to a very high standard.|Roof top bar was very nice and bar service was good. Regards staff , that is the hotels best asset. Really helpful and pleasant, except for the senior receptionist lady. She should be hidden in a office. |Our main complaint was the pool area. For us the water was to cold to swim and the sunbeds need replacing. Being a bit on old side I found getting up from the beds almost impossible as there is no support on the bed.|There are a few good ones scattered around the small pool and they are ok|Would we come back - perhaps with a room upgrade, yes as the hotel is in a perfect position for restaurants and the resort centre

A great relaxing hotel close to the town centre. Clean room, comfortable bed. Pool was a nice area and the building work going on close by was not much of an issue. We went full board and ate some lovely food. The chicken ceaser salad at the pool bar was lovely. At breakfast there was a man on the piano which was a nice touch. Very small complaint is that the swim up bar was unmanned but wasn’t much of an issue for us but may have been good to know before hand.

Can’t really see much has changed and comments / suggestions raised by traveller’s have made no difference ! Been here a few times, only difference this time a few new Sunbeds!|Good spruce up is needed in many areas and modernisation and some areas a good clean! |Such a pity as this could be great especially due to the location and roof top view.|Why pool towels need a deposit and swapped at reception no idea!! Tried to swap ours twice was told none available - reception staff don’t really go out of their way and at times aren’t that friendly!

We have recently returned from our stay at the AP Maria Nova Lounge and here are the pros and cons that we consider are justified.|Pros:|Most of the reception are staff welcoming, friendly and helpful. A nice touch with the welcome glass of wine on check-in.|Breakfast was very good with plenty of hot (proper sausages!:-)) and cold choices and a variety of breads, pastries and cakes, prosecco and coffee machines although the juices could be improved as it was more like squash!|We had a room on the 1st floor overlooking the carpark, but a good size balcony to sit out on to have a drink before venturing out in the evening.|A good size bathroom with plenty of space for toiletries and a good, easy to use shower.|Plenty of storage for clothes and other accessories in the bedroom.|Lovely large (if refreshing!) swimming pool.|A nice bottle of wine given on check-out, although it may be worth considering offering this at the beginning of the stay rather than at the end, so guests can enjoy it on their holiday, as not everyone could accept the bottle on leaving if only have cabin luggage.||Cons:|The door to the balcony was very stiff and heavy to slide open.|There was sometime a strange sewage smell in the bathroom in the afternoon but think this is maybe a plumbing problem when abroad.|Only 1 bottle of complimentary water given throughout our 7 night stay.|Non-acceptance of cash in bars and restaurants although we paid our bill in cash at end of stay we prefer to pay in cash as we go!|The pool-side food expensive and quality of pizzas poor (like a bad supermarket pizza). |The fridge was not very effective and didn't keep our contents very cold!|For a 4 star hotel, the sunbeds need replacing as quite uncomfortable although there are many. Although fortunately there were not too many people smoking cigarettes when we were there the sunbeds are quite close together so there should be a designated smoking area so you are not sitting right next to smokers and vapers!|No slippers or gowns in the room which is usually expected in 4 and 5 star hotels.||All in all we had a good holiday in Tavira and the location of this hotel is just a short stroll down a hill to the many eateries in the town.

Mixed feelings on this hotel.|Hotel itself was lovely, clean and modern and the breakfast was very nice - hot and cold self service but the icing on the cake was there was a pianist every morning playing the most beautiful music.|We had a lovely room. Only downside was the dryer on the balcony was rusty and we ruined a couple of items before we realised.|We enjoyed the rooftop bar where we had wonderful views (except for the construction site which we were warned of before we booked) nothing management could do about that. We had tapas a few nights with wine which was reasonably priced.|Also, the food at the pool bar was very good.||The downside was the pool area. This was rated a platinum hotel which I have to say wasn’t up to any of the ones we had stayed at before.|Pools weren’t clean and water cloudy.|Many of the sunbeds were broken, as were the parasols, they kept falling down and a lot were stabilised by wine corks.

Great hotel with excellent location to the town centre with its restaurants etc. Breakfast was great with a wide selection. My only criticism is that people using the pool area disappear for a few hours leaving their towels on the loungers thus preventing other guests that arrive to have a lounger. Some hotels that I have stayed in have started adopting a system where the lifeguard makes sure that people leaving, take their belongings there allowing other guests to take advantage of the loungers. If they don't return within a set time their stuff is put to the side allowing guests to use the lounge.

Yelp
This is a great hotel with plenty of amenities and nice rooms, for a low price. But the breakfast is what really stands out - probably the best "free" one I've ever had. Worth a stop in Tavira, just to spend a night here.

Yelp
Started out not great!!! Greeted by agent saying it's been very stressful the day!!! Was told to go behind state house and get euro but she never said it closes at 3 and it was 4:30 when she sent us! Asked for a TukTuk and was told something (lol) so confusing we never understood! Awful service. She was in a rush like we know where we are!! Very frustrating since we just flew into Lisbon this morning from Madeira and drove 2.5 hrs to here.
