Some mixed reactions to having dinner here. The food was quite underwhelming. The best thing we tried was the Tiropita and the wine. The menu is extensive, such is possibly the issue. Service was good, however they definitely need more hands on deck, the busier it gets, the less service you receive. Atmosphere is warm and inviting, but gets quite loud. My second visit to the restaurant, likely won't go back. If it's your first, give it a try.

This is my fourth time visiting Cape Town from Dubai, and I’m always on the lookout for great breakfast spots — and today I found a new favorite. It was my first time at this restaurant, and from the moment I walked in, I felt such a genuine and welcoming vibe. The space is beautiful and calm, perfect for a slow morning start. The food was absolutely incredible — fresh, full of flavor, and clearly made with care. Every dish we ordered was beautifully presented and delicious. It’s rare to find a place where everything just clicks — the atmosphere, the food, and the service. A special thank-you to our waiter, Luvo, who truly made the experience even more memorable. He was kind, attentive, and made us feel so well taken care of without ever being overbearing. His energy was warm and sincere, and you could tell he genuinely cared about making sure guests had a great time. Thank you to the whole team — from the kitchen to the floor — for creating such a special place. I’ll definitely be back before I leave Cape Town, and this will be my go-to breakfast spot every time I return!

We recently hosted our wedding reception at Maria’s Restaurant with 96 guests and I cannot recommend them highly enough. From start to finish, the day was absolute perfection. The food was beyond incredible! Every single dish was cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. Our guests are still raving about it! The service was seamless, and the entire team was warm, helpful, and completely on point throughout the day. No detail was overlooked, and it all ran like clockwork. A special shoutout to Brent, who was an absolute gem throughout the planning process. He stayed on top of every change, helped with seating plans, food recommendations, and even made sure we had a solid Plan B in case of bad weather. His calm, professional approach made the whole experience stress-free and enjoyable. It’s not just the charm of the venue that makes Maria’s special, it’s the people behind it. They made us feel supported every step of the way and delivered a flawless experience. We’ll be singing their praises forever.

Absolutely nothing can compare to the atmosphere at Maria’s on a sunny Saturday afternoon. We were seated and served quickly, the food was INCREDIBLE but bonus points go to the talented man playing his guitar and singing in the courtyard. We will be back soon!

Wonderful food, incredibly flavoursome, delightful tall waiter, really cared. Food was so much more interesting than I've experienced in many ways in the last 5 weeks in Cape Town, this is really worth a try, lovely area near the Cecil Rhodes Gardens / University.

Maria’s was recommended to us by a local guide as the place to go in Cape Town for authentic Greek and it did not disappoint. In fact it was outstanding, especially the Yiouvetsi chicken, which I ordered and my daughter ate. Really really good. But so was everything else. Very reasonable prices too. Highly recommended, and it’s not a long or expensive Uber ride from the harbor area. Perhaps our favorite lunch of the entire 2 week trip.

A great old favourite which has now been modernised inside. The place was busy and service was a little slower than usual because of peak season, but the food was outstanding. The staff did their best to satisfy everyone

Took a while to get service but it was worth the wait because the food was amazing. Especially the fried halloumi! The tzatziki was insane as well. The falafels where a little dry.
