This was my 4th time in the spa. I usually love coming here but I think the new price structure is a bit too high. Also, it felt pretty overcrowded to be honest.....I get that there is more room with the new pool for people in the summer but during the wintertime it was just too many people. It was not as clean as it used to be and it was hard to get a spot in the outside pools. The stuff was super sweet and friendly as usual, food and drinks are fantastic:)

The hotel is perfectly situated right on the coast in Helsingør, providing direct beach access, a spa, a casino, and extensive amenities. The elegant yet relaxed atmosphere makes it an excellent option for both business and leisure travel. One of the highlights of my stay was the diverse culinary scene. The hotel offers several restaurants, including Restaurant 1861, where I had a memorable dinner featuring Nordic-French cuisine with fresh, local ingredients and perfectly paired wines. Restaurant Isabell serves atmospheric breakfasts and brasserie-style lunches and dinners, with standouts like the varied buffet, oysters, and local Scandinavian specialties. I also enjoyed drinks and a relaxed meal in Rory’s Bistro & Bar, which transitions from a casual brasserie by day to a lively bar with creative cocktails and board games in the evening. The breakfast buffet was exceptional—plenty of high-quality options, including homemade specialties, fresh pastries, and local meats and cheeses, all served with a beautiful view of the sea. My room was comfortable, very clean, and well-equipped, matching the high overall standard of the hotel. The staff were professional, attentive, and consistently friendly, which made a big difference during my stay. Although I didn't have time to fully enjoy the spa or casino, these facilities looked impressive and definitely add value for future visits. Overall, Marienlyst Beach Hotel delivers a great experience with its superb dining options, excellent service, and unbeatable beachfront setting. I highly recommend it both for business and leisure travelers, and I look forward to returning.

Went for the pool day pass only, hope that next time I get to stay the night, the pools and saunas were a great variety and you got plenty of time to enjoy. Easy to get here from Copenhagen with the train, and so much better price than anything close to similar value for a spa in the city. The view was also lovely and the lunch buffet was great. Nothing to put my finger on except wanted to stay longer!

The hotel is very chic, clean and with nice furniture. From the first step inside the hotel, you can feel the history of the place. The staff members are kind and welcoming. The view from Restaurant is magnificent, you can admire the castel, the sea and Sweden on the other side. I truly recommend the afternoon tea for an unique experience.

We spent a wonderful getaway at Marienlyst Strandhotel with my spouse, and the whole experience exceeded our expectations. We visited both restaurants and the Rory Bar – everywhere the food was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and of high quality. The service was cheerful, professional, and very attentive. The spa was relaxing and provided the perfect setting to unwind. Breakfast deserves a special mention – the selection was rich, fresh, and of excellent quality, easily one of the best hotel breakfasts we have ever had. In addition to the pleasant atmosphere, the hotel offers plenty of entertainment options for guests. In the lobby you can enjoy various games such as pool, shuffleboard, table tennis, PlayStation, dominoes, and more. This made the evenings especially fun and cozy. Overall, our stay was truly memorable and left us with only positive impressions. We highly recommend Marienlyst Strandhotel to anyone looking for the perfect combination of luxury, great food, friendly service, and entertainment.

What a beautiful hotel in an absolutely stunning location! I truly enjoyed every moment of my stay and already miss it. The spa was a highlight—so serene, beautifully designed, and incredibly peaceful. A perfect place to relax and unwind. I can’t wait to come back!

When I arrived I walked into the hotel and a woman asked if she could help me, I just told her I was looking for the rest of my party. She seemed flustered and said “I can’t help with that” and walked away from me, which I thought funny since I didn’t ask her for help. Later we had wine at the wine bar, service was great. Later moved to sauna Gus ( my first time) it started fine- wasn’t sure what to expect but I was wearing metal earrings and soon enough it got scorching hot and I took it off, asked my friend how long the session took. The instructor came over and snapped at me/ told me to be quiet or get out. It was a bit jarring considering. Except the bar staff, we had incredibly rude service everywhere.

I’ll be rating this, based on the fact that the hotel describes itself as 4-star hotel.|The positives: The location is nice and the staff were friendly and plenty.|Lots of visitors at the hotel, so be prepared to be assigned specific timeslots for eating there.||The cleaning was not great. We payed extra for a balcony and there were lots of bird droppings and feathers on it and the glass fence was very dirty. It clearly hadn’t been cleaned for a long time.|The same goes for the (non-functioning) ventilator in the bath room.|The mirror and glass door to the balcony had greasy spots and fingerprints on them.||Many places looked worn down and not maintained.|Multiple lamps in the hallway were falling off the wall, only hanging by a few screws.|Some of the rope railing in the stairways was also coming apart.||The last night we booked dinner in restaurant Isabel for some nice food and wine.|After 1 hour and 15 minutes, having asked the waitress multiple times about the missing food, we kept getting a “it’s on the way” answer.|We had to go the manager, to finally get something to happen and she admitted they made a mistake.|10 minutes later we finally got something food, but the once cold Riesling we should have enjoyed with the dinner had now been sitting in the warm room for almost 1,5 hours.|To be fair to the manager, she let us go without paying for the one course we got.|Didn’t change the fact that the night was ruined and the next batch of guest were almost ready to come in, so we just ate in 10 minutes and left.||I’ve been in many 4-star hotels and this one definitely did NOT feel like one.|It’s not recommended and we will not be coming back.
