We’ve stayed at this hotel twice now, and each time has been a truly lovely experience. We usually visit around Christmas, when the atmosphere is especially cosy and festive. The restaurants are excellent, and the spa and dinner packages are fantastic value. The heated pool is wonderful, and being able to enjoy drinks in the spa area is such a treat. The rooms are comfortable and well-appointed, and the staff are consistently friendly and welcoming. We really hope to return again this Christmas!

Very nice and cosy hotel in phantasic surroundings down to sea. Overview over sea from hotel rooms. Exstreamly nice and service oriented staff. Professionel service in restaurant and food on a very high level. Close to Helsingør, so easy to go for a walk through the old streets. If you are staying for more days you could easily take a train to Copenhagen or the ferry to Helsingborg. But remember to enjoy all facilities at hotel.

- [ ] A wonderful stay overall — the views and the spa alone made the trip feel restorative in all the right ways. Marienlyst is a beautiful space with a calm, inviting atmosphere, and we left feeling genuinely refreshed. Our dinner at Isabel’s didn’t quite meet the standard we expected: slow service, a forgotten table, and food that, while pleasant, never fully reached the level the setting promised. Even so, it didn’t overshadow the rest of the experience. We’ll most definitely be returning in due course.

This was my 4th time in the spa. I usually love coming here but I think the new price structure is a bit too high. Also, it felt pretty overcrowded to be honest.....I get that there is more room with the new pool for people in the summer but during the wintertime it was just too many people. It was not as clean as it used to be and it was hard to get a spot in the outside pools. The stuff was super sweet and friendly as usual, food and drinks are fantastic:)

The hotel is very chic, clean and with nice furniture. From the first step inside the hotel, you can feel the history of the place. The staff members are kind and welcoming. The view from Restaurant is magnificent, you can admire the castel, the sea and Sweden on the other side. I truly recommend the afternoon tea for an unique experience.

The hotel is perfectly situated right on the coast in Helsingør, providing direct beach access, a spa, a casino, and extensive amenities. The elegant yet relaxed atmosphere makes it an excellent option for both business and leisure travel. One of the highlights of my stay was the diverse culinary scene. The hotel offers several restaurants, including Restaurant 1861, where I had a memorable dinner featuring Nordic-French cuisine with fresh, local ingredients and perfectly paired wines. Restaurant Isabell serves atmospheric breakfasts and brasserie-style lunches and dinners, with standouts like the varied buffet, oysters, and local Scandinavian specialties. I also enjoyed drinks and a relaxed meal in Rory’s Bistro & Bar, which transitions from a casual brasserie by day to a lively bar with creative cocktails and board games in the evening. The breakfast buffet was exceptional—plenty of high-quality options, including homemade specialties, fresh pastries, and local meats and cheeses, all served with a beautiful view of the sea. My room was comfortable, very clean, and well-equipped, matching the high overall standard of the hotel. The staff were professional, attentive, and consistently friendly, which made a big difference during my stay. Although I didn't have time to fully enjoy the spa or casino, these facilities looked impressive and definitely add value for future visits. Overall, Marienlyst Beach Hotel delivers a great experience with its superb dining options, excellent service, and unbeatable beachfront setting. I highly recommend it both for business and leisure travelers, and I look forward to returning.

Went for the pool day pass only, hope that next time I get to stay the night, the pools and saunas were a great variety and you got plenty of time to enjoy. Easy to get here from Copenhagen with the train, and so much better price than anything close to similar value for a spa in the city. The view was also lovely and the lunch buffet was great. Nothing to put my finger on except wanted to stay longer!

When I arrived I walked into the hotel and a woman asked if she could help me, I just told her I was looking for the rest of my party. She seemed flustered and said “I can’t help with that” and walked away from me, which I thought funny since I didn’t ask her for help. Later we had wine at the wine bar, service was great. Later moved to sauna Gus ( my first time) it started fine- wasn’t sure what to expect but I was wearing metal earrings and soon enough it got scorching hot and I took it off, asked my friend how long the session took. The instructor came over and snapped at me/ told me to be quiet or get out. It was a bit jarring considering. Except the bar staff, we had incredibly rude service everywhere.

Yelp
The land and sea here are picturesque and beautiful. Unfortunately, the service, organization and cleanliness of the hotel is subpar. We checked in on Saturday after a grueling day of international travel with two children. There was hardly a welcome, no help with the bags, and the small dusty rooms faced a busy parking lot. Since there is no air conditioning, the doors remained open to the busy parking lot all night. Our children were not allowed in the pool at any time; you must be 16 years old. The outside beach area was littered with broken glass and cigarettes from the prior evening. To be moved to a water facing room, we were upcharged and one of the two new rooms wasn't ready until 4pm. Probably best as a lunch spot before or after touring Kronburg...I would never sleep at this hotel again.

Yelp
Normally, I would not write a review for a hotel in Denmark as I don't usually find them impressive or interesting enough. This one had a wow effect on me! It is right by the water and with the Helsingør castle view, beautifully done renovation, classical French style but in a Nordic clean and minimalistic way. The food has been wonderful, even the smørrebrød lunch I got was so good, yes even the pickled fish tasted good. Wonderful atmosphere, service minded staff and one of the best locations in Denmark. I am thinking that this must be a top wedding venue choice. I would love to go back for a weekend stay.
